Lol I ship DS with JH but I will be still sad if Taek loses her...

Let's be trolled : Put Junghwan and Taek together, and Dongryong as Deoksun's husband. Then like someone said in nb, the last episode will be goat sounds.

The whole episode with "beeeeeh" sounds  :imstupid:

I'ts obvious that the husband is Junghwan...yawns

Their interactions are mostly awkward and

I don't find his character interesting at all, he's just like a typical tsundere kdrama lead guy.

I even like Dongryul better than him.

junghwan could've been an amazing character

the writer did him wrong

and i hate the fact that they made both the guys so attached to deoksun wtf

no one wins in the end

i mean taek is so fragile he cries every second

and junghwan is SO in love with her

tbh it hurts my heart when i see him wanting to approach her but holding back

they need to make him make a move next ep

the writer needs to stop sleeping on him

i mean wtf? taek is obv gonna hold back now as well

so what will we have another 2 episodes with the same thing

ugh

Edit: I cried SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much in the last 2 ep

ugh this drama is so perfect

i hope this isn't the last one i reallllly hope there will be another one next year

Junghwan is boring because his character hinge on the love triangle. His character is already explored in the first few episodes and I don't think the writer can add anything to it. He is just your typical average boy with above average brain. I think out of the three leading men of reply, he is the most unlikeable. He is likeable as a person but I don't like him as a love interest. When he saw Dukseon cry, he did nothing to help her. He just watch! Yes, he is avoiding her but as a friend, shouldn't he come and comfort her?

Taek is not fragile. For me his story is like the most interesting out of the squad. It's fascinating to watch how he manuevered life as a teenage, baduk master. His pill popping and the smoking is worrying but it just show how tired and stress he is with his grand champion of baduk life. I wonder if he will quit baduk along the way. I also wonder if he will miss all the pills because he will get addicted to them. Will reply 1988 even go that dark?

Dukseon & Dongryeong is the most relatable for me. Her problems in school and what to do with life mirrored what I was feeling when I was in highschool.

Sunwoo is just too good to be true. But his problem with his mom remarrying is a nice story. It made him look more like a normal human being.

I am happy that Sunwoo finally like Mr. Choi thank to Bora.

The scene of Donryul and his mom is so heart touching.

This drama  makes me cry every episode because of the family related story.

This season is my favorite of the 3.

But aside from the romance, I love the family and friendship stories of '88 more than the other series, every episode touches my heart

So taek is really the hisband, junghwan moved on I guessed. He confessed and nothing happened. Everything is now pointing to taek. Disappointed tbh. Taek is very dull compared to the others and Deok-Son and Taek seemed more siblings or mother and son.

I'm seriously disappointed too. Honestly there were waaaay too many hints at the beginning that Junghwan is the husband. Reply writers might think they're original, but everyone knew at the beginning that Junghwan was the husband. Then suddenly everyone started thirsting over Park Bogum/Taek and tbh I think the writer changed who the writer was bc of PBG's sudden popularity. I hope I am wrong and Junghwan is still the husband but ep 18 is making me doubt it more than anything else.

I still think JH is definitely the husband. Their interactions have just too much focus and impact in the overall story, similar to the previous Reply seasons (assuming they're following that route). I mean, even scenes where Taek "beats" JH and is there for DS, those scenes are still very much in JH's POV. The writers kept us frustrated till the very end, especially with '94. I wouldn't be surprised if they're circle jerking us now too.

Also the game changing twists can come in one batch in the last episode. Like JH actually being ambidextrous or him running back to pick up the ring he left or JH confessing that he really did love her or the fact that DS never saw Taek as more than a friend she really cares for.

The whole timing bit would come into full circle then, where it suddenly became the right moment for JH-DS to like each other.

Dongryong is definitely not the husband though.  :rlytearpls:

Yeah this episode made me doubt Junghwan as the husband. Tbh I was rooting for DongRyong more than the others lol so I'm not trying to sound bias.

I thought it was interesting some ppl would call Junghwan dull when he's probably the most caring character of tbh. He's the type to put everyone before himself like when he found out Taek like Deok-Son he sort of back off. Before that with Sunwoo. Then yesterday's episode you found out he only wanted to be a baseball player, basketball player and fighter pilot because that's all the things his brother wanted to be, which is kinda cute but also sad that he never got to do or say what he wanted. Kind of compares to how Deok-Son is considered a sweet kind person too.

Oh well two episodes left I highly doubt they will have a huge plot twist it's obvious Teak is the husband. The future scene kinda proves it too.

Had to put these thoughts out of my chest:

The Reply installments are great dramas, and R88 is surely the best in terms of fleshing out those family relationships, friendships and day-to-day struggles, but their approach to the main love triangle is really agonising and tiresome. The fact that they only reveal the husband in the last episode has really affected negatively the plot progression this time and has turned the 3 characters inert and hesitant. Even though I can totally relate to their reasons for backing off - and a lot of people would probably do the same in real life - nevertheless this is a drama, and you can't just drag everything out this long just to not reveal the endgame. A lot of viewers are frustrated beyond what would be necessary and it is affecting the level of enjoyment.

2nd lead syndrome is bad, bu at least in most dramas you know it won't be endgame so you can make ammends with that over the episodes, maybe with a slight glimmer of hope }a la Dream High that will be welcomed if it happens but won't be expected. But here you don't know till the very last if it is 2nd lead syndrome or not so you get your hopes and fears up to the max till the last ep and it can either end in tremendous joy and relief, or serious emptiness and heart-break. I know this recipe probably helps with ratings and anticipation but there should be a limit / healthy balance... In that sense 97 went much better. Even 94 because the main pairing got together sooner (though they still messed up with not giving Chilbong a decent loveline besides those measly secs just to keep him a virtual possibility for Najung till the very last).

I find Taek incredibly dull. There's nothing interesting about him. Personally I feel like people wouldn't care about him if Park Bogum didn't play him.

I'm so disappointed ngl. I didn't think it would affect me this much LMAO.

Oh man i need to rant. Taek fans can scroll past my comments.

This drama would have been a masterpiece if the writers didn't fuck things up. I can understand making Taek the husband because DS had more interactions with him in the second half of the drama. But that's the thing they completely shoved junpal character in the second half and thats what makes me angry.

Taek was just never interesting as a character. Theirs a reason why the first 12 eps were the best. Thats when junpal had the most screentime and his growing  romance with DS was fucking amazing. That sexual chemistry was on fucking point. Not only that, but they lied to the audience when they said that their would be no husband hunting... people took it to heart which is why many thought JH would be the husband since the first part of the drama was hinting at that.

Im probably being petty right now, but having taek as the husband would sort of destroyed what would have been a drama to remember for me... i'll just completely forget about it.

They made a mistake by giving bora\sunwoo so much screentime in the second half when people were over them by their 3rd date lol. Even sunwoo mom and taek dad had more development then the main trio.
