There's this city called Makati. I live there and I believe that it's the safest city; also the cleanest. There is also a lot to see in Taguig City. There are a lot of malls there and a variety of places to eat in; parks and stuff.

I don't think there's a safe country. Even the most peaceful ones have their fair share of dangers, too. It's not really about the place, but more about the people.

I suggest you don't come to big cities, like Manila. City can be fun, but the beauty of Philippines is greatly felt in the mountains and oceans. You can do a lot in here--surfing, hiking, swimming, canoeing, zip lining... a lot, basically. Philippines has a myriad of islands and the beaches are beautiful.

I'm from the Philippines, Cebu to be exact, and actually, you should come to Cebu first in the Philippines cause its technically a capital city with everything a first class city has to offer minus the headache-inducing traffic congestions and air health problems.

I second Cebu City! A lot of places to go/see. The beach resorts are gorgeous, too! I'm from Davao but we recently had a kidnapping (foreigners) not in the city but nearby and "triggered" by the visit of the President during that time so I can't recommend this place for now. A lot to see in Cebu, Palawan, Iloilo, those are some of the main islands to visit!

I'm from Makati, too. And I agree that if you want to see our malls and parks... you should visit Makati.

I think the best places to visit are the provinces though. Since the things you see in our malls/parks you've probably already seen in your country. You should visit this site: http://www.itsmorefuninthephilippines.com/

From Philippines here... and yes, do not spend your time in Manila. If you're looking for nice scenery Manila is not for you. Manila is really a busy city unless you don't want to waste your day because of a heavy traffic you shouldn't go here. You could go to the provinces the provinces here are really good<3  But I guess there are many historical sites in Manila so it's fine anyway

I recommend going to

Baguio

You'll get to see this amazing scenery T.T Which I've never seen in my life because we do not have enough time to visit more places. My mom left her wallet that's why we only stayed for a day T.T But there are a lot to see in Baguio other than that

Oslob, Cebu

Yes, you'll get to swim with whale sharks. It's a fun experience just that it's a long ride to go here. But it's definitely worth it, there are falls near the place too so after you finish swimming with whale sharks you could go to the falls. Note that it's also difficult to go to the falls coz the road is steep. Also make sure you don't have a heavy baggage or at least hav a car to leave your stuff. Btw if you have fear of heights then I guess it's not for you because of cliffs, cliffs and cliffs.

Palawan

A mazing place with beautiful scenery. ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!! Too bad I wasn't able to go to the underground river when I went there.

It's generally okay except for some pity crimes, but just as the above user had mentioned there is no such thing as a 100% safe country. So, have fun traveling but always be cautious.

A must visit is Cebu City, because of their beautiful white sand beaches, standard to 5 star hotel/resorts, malls, etc just to name a few and it's a 2 hours travel to another beautiful city, Bohol. You can google & look further about it, I'd commend you go and look up for recent travel blogs of cities to make your planning be more easier. Other cities/spots that's a must visit are Boracay, Palawan, Batanes, etc...

Have fun in the Philippines!!!

People here generally love foreigners lol

Many people see them as fascinating (their language, way of life, etc.) and are usually very eager to help out or answer questions.

But its still good to be vigilant and be careful.~~

Hi! I am from the island of Palawan. There are lots of things to see here so you will probably need a week or more.

There's a crocodile farm, falls, firefly watching. ranch and a pastry bakeshop which is famous near there and if you are interested there is a town that house prisoners and these prisoners live there without guards watching them 24/7. These prisoners are actually the ones who serve as lifeguards at the falls I mentioned, they also clean and keep the town organize. They are farm and make souvenir items. These prisoners are the ones that are about to be free and this lifestyle helps them practice livelihood once they get free. These places are only located within the capital city.

If you are into beaches you can go to the other cities of Palawan like El Nido and Coron. There is also an island hopping on honda bay and a little further than that is the famous New Wonder of Nature, Underground river.

Aye! There are lots of places to see, but if you're looking for peace and something refreshing I suggest you go to El Nido Plawan.

if you decide to go to manila just don't wear anything flashy, keep your profile low so you don't attract bad people. And, don't be afraid to ask questions. Majority of Filipinos are quite well-versed in English.
