Nana definitely messed with her jaw to have a softer look. I'm not sure if she had a legit jaw shave or some sort of facial contouring, but I think she did more than botox if I'm honest. Still the prettiest idol but less unique in my eyes.

I've heard low-dose Accutane is also popular in SK.

Honestly, for me, resetting my skin with Accutane (moderate dose, seven months) and then maintaining the clear skin with differin or tretinoin was key. It's hard out here with all the stress, bad food and bad air. Don't be surprised when your skin breaks out!

Looks like a saline breast implant scar to me. It's quite the thick scar though, and very far out of her armpit (usually they're more discrete). However, if she has a matching scar on the other side there's no question. Honestly, I'd assumed she was just using padding and push up bras.

I think it fits her image! Tbh I'm more shocked that they're able to fit the implants through those tiny holes 😭

edit: Looks very natural

I can understand why she got them done; Lesseraphim has a more mature vibe than IZONE and she probably felt (or management did) that her look is just a bit too neotenous and cute. If you look at her very first teaser for the group pre-debut, she definitely has a more sexy look than she ever did before. I think breast implants are often a pretty conscious choice to mature one's appeal. Hyuna is another example.

Btw, I'm kind of surprised they went with saline through the armpit, given the obvious scar location. With saline, they can keep the scar small because they push the casing through and then fill it while it's already in the chest, otherwise the scar would have to be bigger to accommodate the already filled implant. However, given her extremely petite frame (she is obviously naturally skinny and likely flat), I feel like saline would cause a lot of rippling, so I would've gone with silicone? Idk, maybe in SK saline is more popular or deemed more safe?

Noticeably the other members are very petite in their chest, probably to go with their model theme. But they're also taller, so it sort of evens out. And Eunchae is the maknae, so she gets a different image altogether.

Oh there's for sure quite a bit on upper blephs on white women for example, as skin tends to sag and that includes the skin on the brow and/or lid area. Just go to the main plastic surgery subreddit and search for it!

Hey is this a condition? Or is it just due to aging or weightloss.

I notice I am developing this too only in one eye. Is there a way to reverse this? Or any procedures to fix it.

Beforespacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

After

You can see in the following photos that between the left eyelid and browbone the fat just dips in. It's where the large shadow is. There's also extra skin hanging over just above the eyelidspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

She's definitely had her eyes done but I think what you're noticing is the loss of the upper eye fat pad that many East Asians have - it's why the lids can bulge forward. You lose fat the older you get, so you see this upper hollowing often (on non-East Asians as well FYI).

Maybe its part of the cultural divide between East and West, but I always rolled my eyed every time one of my favorite groups went on Vlive and played with the filters until they always got to the one that was overwhelmingly bright and washed out their skin tone - because I knew THAT'S the one they were looking for to begin with. Not every group does this for instance, Loona usually does not, but Pristin (which had a ton of Vlives in its short life) always did.

To be fair, the West does a similar thing with tanning. There's nothing more attractive about tan skin or pale skin, but they are markers for class/wealth, basically. Just look at the fake tan, tanning salon, and bronzer ("warm up the face" lmao) markets. You have people dead convicted they look 'sickly' when they are literally their natural born shade. And then in SK they are convinced they look 'sallow' or 'tired' with a less 'bright' skin tone. It's all in the words they use. You can call pale sickly or bright, you can call tan skin dark or glowing. It's just skin, literally an organ...

Like look at this:

AVvXsEgCZVIjjOKxIrMTfRuYbTIkIVxrL0yTbrcsY0PJpQnzaIzUcHFYqmLa-5vFtNbDOcLeP93KDFgx3C4zJ1e14UWiDrYHcsVyNkBS0XZuPRFUXpEaSS4S4Unav_Vb-Vx-bc7ruAo7QtGafVDMrgz_jafThZwXxZ6lpZmBFPO8kw3G4yawN_imG0NkbtGQ=s16000

Sohee is the palest there not necessarily because she is naturally the palest. But the rest are all tanned to hell and back.

"tanned to hell and back" is a stretch, especially considering tanning has fallen way out of fashion from it's peak in the 00's. I see multiple people in this photo who have what looks like their natural skintone, they just don't go to extremes to hide from the sun to stay as pale as possible (and might shockingly be wearing a bit of bronzer on their face, because guess what, heavy red carpet foundation actually does look better when you add a bit of color back so you don't look like a corpse ).

Ah yes, we love seeing a beauty standard in the wild lol. This is literally what I was talking about.

Anyway, I just thought it was kind of funny seeing two different skin tone standards in one picture. Sohee, who likely tans naturally, is looking like a shining beacon there, while the white girls (and I know half of them are the light type) all are the same shade of distinctly not pale. If we flipped the switch, things would look very different.

Whoever said that tanning is not that in anymore has not been to Europe, particularly the UK, which is where Charlotte Tilbury is from. That actually explains the general tanned skin tone in that picture, because it's the beauty standard in the UK and has been for a while. It's just like Shiseido selling some 'bright snow foundation' or whatever lol

Anyway this has nothing to do with PS so I'll stop there.

I'm from Europe and lived in the UK and tanning is only a thing among a subsection of the population and definitely in no way comparable to how ubiquitous the pale skin beauty standard in in SK. Every white person I hung out with in Scotland was pale as snow, and so were any middle and upper class people from elsewhere in the UK. The heavy self tanning look is very much associated with working class (think Geordie Shore) and therefore seen as tacky.

the country I live in now is the same, except the self tanning look is even rarer, you barely see people like that and those are usually people who favour a certain look overall, which is absolutely not the mainstream beauty standard.

Idk what was happening while I was there then lol. Maybe Scotland is different? When were you there? I was in early to mid 2000's. This foundation was iconic, and the Western answer to those white af bb creams from SK:

You're not a European girlie circa 2014 without the classic Maybelline orange mask lmao

Granted, I haven't been for a while. It does seem like the West is getting a bit better while SK...not so much. I think idols look paler now than they did in the earlier years.

aespa-qa.jpg

I will say, the day we have a pale VS model is the day I know we've made it LOL. This is entirely separate from colorism in other demographics in the West, fyi. Again though, classism (and racism).

Anyway, about PS, did Yunjin have a legit jaw shave? Her face shape is entirely different now. Probably cheek bones as well:

obviously she's not SK celebrity pale but this pic is from the 2015 show.

Bro you can literally see the tan fading as it gets to her bikini area....

I will say there's one area pale women are accepted, which is acting, where we have women like Anne Hathaway, Emma Stone, Nicole Kidman and Madelaine Petsch. The accepted tan women in Kpop as a parallel would be Lee Hyori, SNSD Yuri and AOA Seolhyun. All mentioned women are very much not the preferred skin tone but are seen as attractive nonetheless.

Like nobody is gonna sit here and say that they are not very pretty, but both have definitely heard "Omg you're too pale/dark". Yet both prove skin tone does not, in fact, matter!

Wow, I didn't realize how prominent Suzy's natural cheekbones are! That's crazy. Yunjin seriously has been through such a massive change, though, her head looks like a (very pretty) egg. Honestly I do like her look either way.

I mean seeing as AESPA has the whole AI futuristic concept it makes sense that they wouldn't have the natural, girl next door look that some like Joy or Yeri have (obviously way prettier than the average, but you could envision them in real life). RV have a dual concept, so they need more visual fluidity.

But it is super unfortunate that a concept can influence a person's literal surgery. It's kind of dystopian honestly.

About Yuna, it is still possible to undergo lipo at lower levels of body fat, such as examples here:

Spoiler

Dr.-Truong-BA-copia-copia.webp

Athletic+BBL.png

Yuna had a much straighter, natural looking waistline before. I could definitely see her having very specific injections, whether with fat or filler. The natural female hip area is curved inward, like this:

featured-img-of-post-205316.jpg?fm=jpg&fl=progressive&q=50&w=1200&h=675&fit=fill

Which now people call "violin hips". It's actually a feature that will look much more natural than hips that were clearly rounded out like a doll's:

How-Kim-Kardashian-Upped-Her-Workout-Game-Ahead-of-Skims-Swim-Photo-Shoot.jpg?quality=86&strip=all

See how those dips are entirely missing? That's what is off. With Yuna, we have a similar odd amount of unnatural looking volume right where the hips should dip/be straighter:

to add on, i think it is sooooo telling of everything wrong with our society that the new girl to replace the current it girl is always younger, and often underage. the way people started talking about Yuna once she became an adult was so different when she was a child, and then they found a new girl's looks to obsess over once the previous model had become a woman. even this thread steers a little too close to uncomfortably hyper-analyzing Yuna's psychology when the obvious answer to "why would she do this" is she was a child who debuted in the entertainment industry with no protections and was assigned the role of "visual" despite being a child (full offense but if you start going on about how a 15 year old is a "visual" and you're fully grown adult you're a fucking weirdo, just say "she's a pretty girl" and move on) so that she could be open to malicious comments, body insecurities, and sexualisation. IU was right when she made a comeback about how society wanted her to be a child forever so they could infantilize and sexualize her at the same time. rinse, repeat.

Now that's tea. They're always underage. "Fresh meat" - yes, sounds gross, but isn't it?

I feel like fat grafting and face sculpting in general is super common. I've noticed all these idols having perfect 'egg' shaped faces with little to no extra dimensions. Like no little fat pockets or sagging anywhere, they're all perfectly tight. People that come to mind here are Jennie, Yunjin, Sana, and Karina. They just have no little grooves to their face, it's all completely smoothed out.

Not K-pop but Dylan Mulvaney, the famous trans tiktoker, has recently posted the results of her facial feminization surgery/surgeries and from what I know, she's happy about it but girl... I know a pollybeak deformity when I see one

And it's very fresh too, I'm wondering how it's going to look after a year

Are there other pics? From this angle it just looks like she has a longer nose and/or hanging columella. Either way she looks great, very feminine as I'm sure she was aiming for, yet natural as well.

Not K-pop but Hollywood - what happened to Elle Fanning's nose/chin? She had an unfortunate nose job in her teens that made her philtrum very long and prominent, but that's not the only thing that changed, right?

Oof yea I would consider that a botched nose. It is too narrow and weirdly shaped at her tip.

Really unfortunate in my opinion, her original nose suited her face so well and she looked very balanced.

On a sidenote, Johnny looks amazing.

It's really weird because she already had a small, narrow nose? I am so confused. It makes no sense.

Johnny does look great, but I think the changes people are noticing is weight loss. Also, perhaps a bit of aging. He just looks very narrow. There's some Korean actor he reminds me of but I forget his name...

Do you have pictures? I don't see it in the above images...she's matte in one and shiny in the other and her eyelids look the same

Edit: Oh sorry lol for some reason I didn't see the newer posts. I honestly still don't agree on either nose or lips, the lids look like tape and the nose honestly looks the same? Unless you have better examples from the front for the width because that bridge is the same.

it's ridiculous how SEA people are to me, easily the prettiest, most versatile looking people in the world but in SK for example they put them down for their visuals

Deadass like there is absolutely nothing prettier about East Asian features vs south East Asian, they're just different because they are from a different region and I'm sick of people being so delusional in thinking otherwise. I have such beef with this lol and I'm glad Lisa and Minnie still look very much Thai even though of course they have had PS.

I think a big part here is her eye makeup. Plus there's definitely a filter on this...but yes, Park Bom is obviously mentally & physically unwell and this manifests in her PS choices. I blame YG for not having better health resources for her.
