Also this is not to attack you, but 'the amount of surgery he had done' makes it sound like his surgeon crafted him a whole new face, which is definitely not the case. The only thing I can with confidence say changed is his nose, which I think he may have touched twice - once to make the nose bridge more defined and then again to tuck the nostrils in a little bit. And now the possibility of a chin wing implant, I guess. All very subtle and masterfully done, at least in my opinion.

His skin is still quite tan as well, SM just filters the heck out of their videos and Vlives. The gray-ish filter simply isn't a good look on anyone, it looks so lifeless.  That new Candylab video is an abomination as well, that whitewashed smoothing filter plus those contacts make them look more like dolls than actual human beings. Big yikes.

This is not directed at anyone in particular but I feel like the people in this thread sometimes exaggerate maybe not the surgeries themselves, but their effects. Maybe this is more of a subjective thing but there are honestly only a few idols that I think truly underwent a transformation that made them look like a whole new person. Which is why I'm always surprised when people here say they couldn't recognize someone who in my eyes only underwent subtle changes.

The "for the amount of work had done" was more about how people judge the dreamies differently than any other nct subunit in the context of plastic surgery. Like when the question "which nct member has had plastic surgery" is asked many people would reply with Yuta, Taeil, Ten, etc.. But rarely does anyone mention Jaemin (when imo, he has the same amount of plastic surgery, if not more than, for example, ten). 

SM really is trying their hardest to make people forget that Jaemin has tan skin. Every single video of him is incredibly filtered. Watching him in the sm rookies video compared to any video now is shocking. If i was a new viewer, i would probably assume he had pale skin.

I think the "completely unrecognizable" thing is definitely subjective. I used to be obsessed with nct during their rookie days (2015-2016) but in the past few years i haven't been keeping up with them. so i was surprised when i saw Jaemin in MAW, he looks so different compared to chewing gum and MFAL (of course, growing up and styling changes could contribute to him looking different). 

It's why I also thought Yuta and Doyoung looks different compared to what I was familiar with.

Yes! All of the above. Nose filler can be used for all those purposes. Although it often makes your nose look bigger since it adds volume, it can also be used to lift the nose tip. The most common nose filler in Kpop is the kind that makes your nose smoother or pointier. 

There are many types of nose fillers, the most common would be Hyaluronic acid which usually lasts at least 6 months and can also be dissolved. The dangers of nose fillers are a bit varied on each websites but the most common one would be death of the skin around the area (since the fillers block blood flow).

I think @SepiaSkies has made a post discussing Haechan's nose changes and i think it's mostly just fillers. His nose tip and bridge constantly changes in size and sharpness. Along with mark, I believe he only gets in before comebacks.

Opinions on WJSN? I'm not sure if they've been discussed here yet but i want to talk about Seola.

I've stanned her since i saw her love shot performance and i was wondering about her nose. It really seems like an implant.

To me, unlike Predebut pictures, the edges of the eyes now look sharper.

I definitely see the eyelids changes, especially in the inner corners. I think his nose also looks a bit more defined and downturned(?). I swear Winwin is the most natural looking idol under sm entertainment. He looks exactly the same pre debut.

Haseul from Loona has one of the most surprising tip work I've ever seen in Kpop tbh. I swear I thought that was her natural nose. What do you guys think of them? tbh I found some members to look quite unnatural and some members the opposite. Loona seriously has some really interesting faces. For example, Vivi - when i first saw her i thought she has a karina shave but apparently she's always had that jaw.

I've also heard many people say that Ningning is the black sheep of aespa and i think it's because she seems very distant to the other members. Another thing is that many vocal critiques say that her vocals are underwhelming for a sm main vocal. They say that winter is almost on her level. but i do agree, i think Ningning is very pretty and definitely stands out in visuals.

now for Giselle, I actually saw many international fans hyping her up on twitter. Her visuals are quite unique and some kfans are confused as to why sm signed her since she's not particularly that talented (although in her defense sm doesn't have the best rappers) or well fitted to the beauty standard. She also seems to have more of an american girl vibe to her (i'm guesing this is why international fans like her). 

I do like both Giselle and ningning and i think their addition in the group may be signaling that sm is changing their strict beauty standard and excepting different faces (although both of them are not void of surgery, i'm happy sm didn't put 4 karinas in a group).

this is lee Helen, a 0'3 liner, and the one most likely to be added to aespa soon. She joined a little later than Giselle (december of 2019) and she's most likely going to be a main dancer. she seems to have the same type of face like ningning and giselle (tan skin, rounder/flatter face). Since she has more time i suspect sm are busy changing her face right now.

The last picture is most likely edited but i wouldn't be surprised if she debuts with a new nose and jaw.

Do i see a smoother nose bridge in these photos or am i just sleep deprived?

In comparison to:

I'm a bit suspicious of the second photo (one with the smooth bridge) because it's from a photoshoot and very likely edited. In the first picture, you can both see that the bridge has been straighten while the tip still points down.  could this be because of nose fillers?

If i'm being honest i never thought much about his visuals (i've mentioned that a couple of times) but him having a bumpy nose really solidifies his position as the best male visual for me. Just shows that perfect individual features are not as important as overall facial compatibility.  I find it ironic that other male visuals undergo multiple surgeries to be perfect and cha eunwoo has the title while being "imperfect". I know natural beauty is kinda over rated at this point but certain faces are too randomly generated to be artificial.

Hey guys I wonder what is your opinions on kpop youtubers? more specifically, the ones that do the "ranking kpop idols according to korean beauty standards" type video. the most popular channels i see are Curry Curren and Not sosuperficial. 

If I'm being honest, I'm not a big fan of them. mostly because they are never consistent with their rankings and their comment section are quite toxic. Both of these channels seem to have a difficulty identifying skin tone and jaw shapes. Their videos also have a very passive aggressive tone, most of the compliments they give towards the "lesser attractive" member are very back handed. They also like to make up false rumors about the group they're talking about, like how koreans find them unattractive and such. All of this on top of how they can't even follow their own beauty rules properly. Like the second channel classified Hyewon, Winter, and Yeri as having pale skin when it's quite obvious that they don't. 

The comment section is also quite weird. They seem to think that every idol has to follow the beauty standard and they also use it as a weapon sometimes. Like I've seen comments like "oh, idol X has 80% of the standards and isn't the visual but idol Y with 70% is". I think most of these comments also come from the fact that these videos always alternate between ranking the idols by individual features or by overall facial composition/compatibility.

Some of these people need to understand that companies chose visuals based on the style they're looking for and the standards isn't always necessary. for example if we were going to judge by individual features - Winwin and Jungwoo would be the visual in 127 instead of Jaehyun but SM prefer Jaehyun's overall facial composition more. Tzuyu and Nayeon also has the same individual features ranking but most people would say that Tzuyu is the official visual of twice.

although visuals are very important in kpop, I doubt the hyper specific standards are.

Compared to those photos, i think her lower face seems different. I'm not too sure though but her face overall seems smaller.

^ her jawline (from the side profile) used to be straight and in the picture you posted her jaw seems rounder.

First off all i've noticed that she is very beautiful and i doubt that she had much done. 

One big change that i've noticed is her nose:

I see a bit of WJSN's seola in her nose now.

I do like the way it looks but i have to say now that her nose is slimmer, her face seems much bigger. I'm not too familiar with ANS but so far they seem to have pretty good surgeons.

I think that's an average height for women although it might be relative. It also depends on where you're from/live. I'm 171 cm and where I'm from i'm considered to be quite tall (I was the tallest girl in my class and my height really made me stand out). Every time i walk around malls and such, i often tower over many people my age. I've heard that 160 is actually good for women since many clothes are cut to fit them. 

Most female kpop idols are also around 5'3 - 5'4 (158 - 164 ) and sometimes I get confused when international fans call them short (like for example, mamamoo or loona) because that is considered average for east asian countries. I've haven't been to many western countries so idk how tall people over there are. basically, I think height is subjective.

Nooo why does he look kinda terrifying in this photo. The nose, chin, and especially the teeth really makes him look different. Has his top lip always sat on his teeth that way? why does it look overfilled?

Judging from those photos, i think his nose may have also collapsed. His nose used to be straighter and pointier (as a result of filler) but in those photos it looks strange. Imo now he kinda looks like minho

Honestly, I think yuqi looks a bit different but I'm not 100% convinced she had a nose job.

Predebut:

^ her nose is noticeably a bit "bulbous" and flat at the tip.

Less - filtered pictures now:

^ Her nose still has a very similar shape and size (although it does look a smidge thinner from certain perspectives.

I think a major reason why many think she had a nose job is her filtered pictures. In most of the official pictures, the alar part of her nose is thinned out and her nostrils are closer together. Example:

Although after looking at her pictures back and forth for a few minutes, I definitely think she had her eyes done. The crease looks to be higher now and i think its what contributes to her looking different.

The whole gang really. It's been discussed before that Heeseung, jay, sunoo, and sunghoon had their noses done. The rest are natural except for veneers. Honestly tho, they are the most plastic rookie boy group i've seen in a long while. usually they are never this polished from debut (same argument could be said with Aespa).

Let's talk about Itzy's Yuna. I think she's one of the best examples of having typically "unattractive" features that work well together. Looking at her features individually, she has big bulging eyes, a big mouth, and slightly bulbouse nose but still she looks wonderful. I'll never understand those people who say that her beauty is "fading" (ppl like that are also most likely the same ones saying that their faves are perfect with no surgery). 

Anyways, her nose has always had quite a unique shape. I don't know how to explain it but it's quite visible here.

feel free to clown me for this but it seems like the "droopy" part in the middle of her nose tip is no longer there and the nostrils are farther apart. Let me know what you think. Yuna's nose is something that i noticed right away when looking at her (not in a bad way, in fact, i think it's charming), so i was surprised when she looked different in their new mv.

For their 2nd comeback with Breathless in 2016 his face looked more chiseled... What happened?

He never looked overweight or anything like that to me. Did he get buccal fat removal? Can you lose that much fat in your face just by losing weight in like 3 months? I don't think idols loose THAT much weight with them already being thin. Was it another non-invasive procedure? Is it botox? Am I tripping? LOL. 

But his teeth do look different. Could they be veneers? I really don't know anything about veneers but it looks like a similar procedure. His teeth look a bit longer but still real and we are able to see more of his smile. This did wonders for that "out of the world" look that he's know for.

He seemed to get a bit more muscular on this year but I think it's obvious that he gets fillers, which could add to the shape of his face.

All in all, I think he doesn't look drastically different.

From what I know, changes in facial fat usually happens gradually if they are dieting/exercising. Of course, If he went from a round face to a more sculpted on in a span of a few weeks, then it would be safe to assume he had something done. Especially before a comeback. However, if we compare his photos in 2016 to now, his whole face does look overall slimmer and he does seem to have lost a bit of weight. So honestly, it could also be up to his exercise regime. 

From what I've noticed, male visuals usually get so much more popular when they lose their face fat (eunwoo, jaehyun, junho). kinda to a point where they look "hollow". I really hope this would change, I love chubby cheeks.

one of the reasons I've found people with jaw shaves uncanny is because their necks now look weird. There's this male idol who had a jaw shave and the most apparent sign is that his neck is wider than his jaw from the front angle (i think you know who I'm talking about). I always found this really weird.  

you can't really get surgery to make your neck thinner right? damn, i feel sorry for idols who get unnecessary jaw shaves. their proportions are all messed up now.

Not sure if you guys can see this but does the bridge of his nose seems higher and almost wider. I can't find many pictures of him predebut where we see him side profile clearly. But after debut, his nose bridge is almost ridiculously high (I thought he was mixed at first). It looks like a similar kind of implant to Heeseung's.
