hard same, my chin is something im super insecure about, ive worked really hard to learn to accept it, but that doesn't stop it from being super obvious

Hani especially seems to have done something to her eyes, there's a shot in the MV where u can see they don't close properly, idk if it's from an old procedure or if it's fresh

also the FILLERS in their faces are. a lot.

if you actually read my comment, it says they don't close properly, not that they don't close at all. i admit i should have said something more along the lines of they don't close evenly, it's easier to see in the video that her left eyelid (right to us) isn't lowering in the same way as her right, hence the uneven appearance.

I agree with what the others are saying and i'd like to also add on keeping an eye on how what you eat affects your skin. i find my skin breaks out like crazy if i eat sugary food on an empty stomach, but if i eat something sweet after i've had something high in fiber my skin is totally fine! if u wear makeup double cleansing is amazing, just make sure you use a good hydrating toner after you've cleansed to get your skin's ph back in balance. i struggled with acne all through my 20s (i'm 30 now), and my mother told me that i was lucky bc it meant my skin was oily, so i wouldn't get wrinkles as quickly!  the main thing to remember is that everyone gets acne, and all the images we see online are edited or filtered to remove normal skin texture. also no one in your life is going to notice your zits as much as you do - people will be too busy worrying about their own insecurities to care about yours  and i know it's hard but try not to pick or prod at your pimples!! scarring isn't worth the momentary satisfaction!

it may be that she just scars quite strongly, and scarring can be strongly affected by both genetics and post-surgical care and activity - if she didn't rest for long enough and her incision site reopened during recovery it would result in a larger scar, so i wouldn't necessarily jump to blaming the doctor for how bad it is

They must have a high pain threshold.

i wore contacts all through high school, and when u first start wearing them they're an odd sensation, but they don't hurt, and you get used to them over time. the ones you tried might have been poor quality or there may have been a defect like a tear or something, bc they shouldn't be painful

I think it's that his nasolabial folds (the creases between his nose and mouth) are super pronounced rn - they've been slowly deepening over the course of the year, i think it's a combo of stress and ageing making them come out like crazy. they make his nostrils look droopier, i don't see any structural changes to his nose. he's looked different since lollapalooza - i think the stress and weight loss leading up to that took a toll and made his face age more, and honestly i'm happy to see he didn't go out and immediately try to fix it!

the tanning debate has it's roots in class structure. In Asia (south, middle, and east), pale skin has been considered beautiful for thousands of years bc it means you're wealthy enough to not have to work in the sun. The exact same beauty standard existed in the west as well until the 50s, when it slowly became more and more popular to have a tanned look bc it meant you had the time and money to travel for leisure or spend time laying in the sun. Do i think it's been taken too far on both ends of the spectrum? absolutely. but it's important to know the history and origin of these ideals before we criticize them, or risk coming across as ignorant.

he's still handsome, but he doesn't look like himself at all  nose aside, there's a tightness to his face that really throws me off - i'm hoping it's just some overzealous botox that'll fade, or a side effect of a treatment for an injury or something

it's because he gained weight in the military - his face is wider now and his nose looks narrower as a result, it's just an optical illusion

I think its more likely a result of regular ageing and maturing (im 31 and my jaw noticeably widened in my early 20s, its normal for all genders), or a result of fluctuation bc of masseter botox. i also feel the change isnt as dramatic as it seems - in a lot of the befores her jaw is visually obscured somehow, either by her hair, or contour, or a face mask, or bright lighting blowing out any shadow on her jawline. immediately jumping to jaw wing implant is a bit hasty imho, especially considering it goes against korean beauty standards

From the front, the nose looks better than from the side. I remember that a few years ago I noticed she had a caving in at the tip of her nose, so that looks to be better.

She overdoes it on filler/botox whatever she gets. She looks pretty, in a artificial kind of way though. I hope she's happy and she stops touching up her nose.

I have a theory that her touching her face so much was a contributing factor in the downfall of momoland - she was the most heavily promoted member with a distinct face and now she's unrecognizable, which can't have helped their branding as a group or her solo activities

but after reading so many posts here about how you always need to keep up with new operations on the nose if needed and how it can collapse, swelling won't go for about a year etc. made me change my opinion on it. i also have extremely extreme sensitive skin so i can't even imagine the bruising maybe one day i should try nose filler to change it. is that risky too?

I was the same for a long time, until i realized that i have my mother's nose - she's someone i think is beautiful, so having her nose is something im really proud of! i also really disliked how much my nose protrudes until i got into kpop and saw all the idols getting surgery to end up with noses like mine  my biggest piece of advice honestly is that other people don't notice your face as much as you do. people are inherently somewhat selfish, they're too busy worrying about what they look like to care about whether or not your nose bridge is perfectly straight. if they do notice they'll either think its a cute charming point about you, or they literally won't care

every comment ive seen where someone mentions being worried about his weight loss there'll be a bunch of replies from people yelling about how he's a yoga instructor now and hes a grown man with a dick and balls (seen this particular phrasing multiple times, as if having a penis makes u immune to eating disorders or something) and worrying about him is weird and parasocial like. a) yoga as a practice isn't about weight loss, there are fat people who do yoga, and yoga on its own wont make you lose this much weight and b) worrying about an idols weight is normal? we care about them and want them to be healthy, and when they look completely different from the last time we saw them, of course people are gonna be concerned?

When I look closer I don't see much difference in her individual features so it must have been very minor tweaks but her aura has changed completely. Best way I can describe it is that she transformed from more of a polarizing snake visual with wide-set eyes and a sharp v-line jaw and to a Barbie doll. I don't think it was just the blonde hair in Spicy because she has had the doll aura since Girls with the purple hair. Whatever she's had done makes her look gorgeous but it also got rid of most of her uniqueness. Now whenever I see recent pictures of her she looks like a bunch of different idols depending on her makeup and styling.

I made a few before and after comparisons. Left is from 2021 and right is 2023. Sorry for the difference in quality, I tried to use Getty pictures to avoid editing of fansites and Korean photographers.

Can someone give me the run-down on what she's had done since debut?

I'm thinking:

• Inner eye corner surgery to lessen the space between her eyes
  • Possibly a double eyelid surgery to make them larger
• Buccal fat removal
  • Possible cheekbone shave too
• Rhinoplasty just to slim the nose cartilage
• Filler along the chin/jawline to soften it (compare the 2nd spoiler from 2021 to 2023)

Also her eyebrows are now not as wide set as they previously were at debut which I figure may impact the harmony of her face as well.

 

good pick on the brows, they're definitely styled closer together and more feathery at the top! hair styling plays a role as well imo - the wispy bangs between her brows lessens the visual distance between her eyes and softens her features significantly. i do think things may have been revised surgically, but its important to not also overlook the massive difference styling can make on someone's overall looks

Turns out fillers, nose jobs and jowl fat removal were already a thing over a hundred years ago, and not just for reconstructive but actual cosmetic purposes as well. Closed nose jobs and jowl fat removal through incisions on the inside of the mouth to reduce visible scarring are essentially still performed the same way today. And using wax as injectives kinda blew my mind.

my absolute favourite PS fact is that the first ever rhinoplasty was performed in 600BC in India! it was more of a nose reconstruction, but it used the same method we do today, by taking skin and tissue from the forehead and making a flap to bring down to form the nose, it's AMAZING. i first heard about it from Dr Lindsey Fitzharris on instagram, her whole account has so much cool information on the history of surgery and medicine, if anyone else is interested in that sort of thing! it can be a little graphic at times, so it may not be for everyone, but i personally find her account absolutely riveting

I suck at link pictures but if you scroll down to the comments, I had to laugh at the commenter saying asians go for that alien from scary movie 4 that can pee out of their fingers look where the eyes take up 1/3 of the face. I’m pretty happy-ish with my asian eyes but if you ever put a japanese, sk, chinese, philip, ect. before plastic surgery together and were told to tell the difference - no on, not even asians, would be able to tell the difference.

My family gets made as s*** when we go back to Aus or the UK think we’re sk, viet, chinese, ect when we are japanese lol. But they’re the type of family that says no one but japanese can live in japan but we’re allowed to live in white and brown countries then play victim if they can’t live in those countries lmao.

 

in the photos in that article her eye makeup is done in a way to give the illusion of bigger eyes - you can tell most in the second to last photo that they've made a false outer eye corner with liner and lashes, and even face on the way her eyes look kind of... muddy in the outer edge of her eyeball? idk how else to describe it but its how i always pick the makeup illusion, the "muddy" colour is just her skin colour showing through lmao. not saying she didnt get something surgical done, just pointing out the makeup tricks that can be mistaken for editing or surgery!
