Off topic but how to idols get their hair to look like that😭

Look like what? A lot of them have really damaged hair if you take a close look. Before the damage is done they all have long, dark straight hair which is something that most Asian and white girls have.

can you give an example video?

Gfriend

I've seen  plenty of idols do this, idk why they do it. May be my personal taste but I find it weird that the front of the hair stays high up in the air. I always try to make it look more flat after I take a shower. This looks much cleaner to me.

I have a feeling that Yuna has very deep insecurities and even an inferiority complex

I quite much agree with this. I watched a few of Itzy's variety shows and while Yuna is a visibly pretty girl and highly doubt anyone unbiased can deny that, she always seems to put so much focus on her looks. Even before that stage with Wonyoung happened, as early as their debut. But obv for most idols feel more and more pressure the longer they are around in the industry and the more they are compared to others. She chose herself nicknames like "Mermaid", "Barbie" etc etc and in an interview with IU she kept saying that her blonde hair goes very well with the color pink and she looks gorgeous. And while this is all right,  discussing how drop dead gorgeous you are over and over sounds the opposite of confident to me. I have been talking with my friends about this and they agreed upon how they "act the most confident" when they are the least confident. I used to go on about how beautiful I am back in the time that I was the least confident. As I grew up and gained genuine confidence, I learnt that confidence is silent.

I highly doubt any of the ITZY members have the tomboy careless mindset as their concept promotes based on so many trivial moments I saw from them on variety shows. And honestly I don't mind because I get girl crushes on girly girls rather than edgy tomboys. For what's most certain I remember Chaeryeong saying she doesn't eat anything and just drinks water and have her supplement as breakfast and waits for her first meal until afternoon, Ryujin said that a lean body looks better when dancing so she lost weight and Yeji said she loved it when her Americans complimented her beauty when she went there to shot an MV. Afterall they are idols and taught to care about their image and realistically, many of the people going crazy over their tough and confident concept probably wouldnt even bother if they weren't slim and pretty.

But honestly why is it viewed as such a bad thing to want to be pretty all the time??? Idk maybe it's just me but I don't see any issue with being aware of how your hair looks or maintaining a good posture and making sure you are photogenic. Starving yourself is a different issue for sure but the rest are something which I fail to see as bad. I don't think it has to do with their age tbh, some idols just maintain their "pretty and feminine and conservative" image for as long as they are in the industry. For example Son Naeun is way past her teens but she never changed in terms of being cautious about her image and I find it so charming.

Gosh this is so unhealthy? And triggering to read about too. Also according to her profile she's 162cm tall and even if she's adding a few cm it she'd still be at least 158cm tall to me. I'm 158cm at 44kg and everyone around me (I live in Asia btw) is telling me I need to eat more because I look too skinny. I can't imagine being 38-39kg like even my 150cm mom is not that light (she's a few kg heavier than me in fact). I know each person stores fat differently and that might affect how they look irl (as in, some people can look real skinny but still fall into the healthy category in term of general health) but I don't think this weight at this height is ok at all? And to think a veteran like Sandara still succumbs to unhealthy beauty standards like this and even open talks about it like it's no big deal... No wonder all the kid idols these days are looking like stick figures. It's just sad.

First thing's first, eating "One banana a day" is not natural by any means. She needs to fix the reason that made her lose appetite like that. Secondly, I am kinda happy she shared this because I read on this same thread before that teenagers are more affected by societal beauty standards and women in their 30s are more likely to embrace what they have. That cannot be further from the truth. Idk where they live but these people for sure haven't seen the drastic measures women take in order to slow down their process of aging and to fit in. As for her case, she said that her stylist and others told her to lose weight, so people's influence doesn't just magically disapear when you get older.

Spoiler

Speaking of Apink I remember when around 2013 I used to watch their performances and gasp at how pretty they were. They really seemed like the prettiest kpop gg to me. Multiple members were visual material in other ggs. Idk what some of the members managed to do throughout the years tho, cause while they are still pretty, I fail to see the eye-catching and breathtaking members they were in their peak. Cause being Asian, I might not be as against plastic surgery as many users on this site might be but idk why an idol as gorgeous as Naeun and when I say gorgeous I mean conventionally beautiful and loved among knetz would feel the need to change. Sad how beautiful girls can be so insecure.

I had to search to find out what veneers are, and what the hell. Are they even comfortable? Can you chew well or do you have to be careful so it won't break?? Do they feel natural in your mouth? Also will your teeth not be rotten if you don't brush the surface??

Guys what do idols do to get this acne free and beautiful skin??? I had a crystal clear skin when I was in my teens but now i'm in my f*cking 20s and suddenly I get acne all over my right cheek. My doctor said it's bc of "my age" and they will only go away when I am old and this is making me depressed. How is 20s even an age to get random acne on your cheeks.

This EXACT same thing happened to me except it was on both checks and at the sides of my chin. I went to a dermatologist and got doxycycline (100% personally recommend) and he put me on a strict AHA type routine. I was also recommended cetaphil foaming cleanser for acne and used Laniege Water Mask face cream (if you don’t live in a large city I recommend yesstyle.com). I also had eczema on top of acne so everything I used had to be gentle.

I no longer have to use this as it cleared up after about a year but the cetaphil and Laniege cream are staples in my routine now. Sorry just wanted to chuck my two cents in even though you were asking about idols skin care, I just remember having any shred of confidence I had being destroyed when acne broke out on my face.

This actually helped a lot thanks! My doctor/dermatologist also prescribed doxycyclin which I had for 4 months and then quit, maybe not finishing a full course was the key.

I’ve always wondered to what extent these idols parents know or are involved in their kids ps. I know in Korea ps is quite common where even some regular people are getting it but isn’t there a limit? In my mind I’m imagining them being okay with a finessed nose job and some eye work but when it comes to bone work I just can’t wrap my head around it. I wouldn’t be surprised if for at least some idols who are of age hide or don’t mention some of the things they get done, this goes double for international parents who don’t get to see their kids that often.

As an Asian born and raised girl who got her nose done as a teen, I have to say its just really regular and common among even non-celebrities to get work done before becoming an adult. Some parents even set funds aside for ther teens to get work done. Many girls in my high school would come to school with a plastic tape over their nose which they used after a nose job. Cant speak for everyone obv but among the majority its just not that moral issue which westerners think it is cause there is just so much cultural difference in that regards (but unlike American teens parents allowing them to date, dating in high school could be a problem for many Asian kids, lol)

For the most part kids dont rly grow up regretting getting a nose job either. I have heard things like "I wish I chose a better doctor or asked for another model" but never "I wish i didnt do a nose job". Cause sadly even as adults people dont magically embrace their insecurities. Most believe they need to have a straight bridge, upturned nose like a white girl.
