Also, watching this video was more than enough to be convinced of Giselle‘s jaw shave. Look at her jaw from the sides, the bone‘s basically disappeared.

You are onto something, OP!

I think it‘s both his nose and eyes. He used to have a veeeery obvious silicone implant. You could easily infer its shape by the way in protruded from the nosebridge. He’s now taken it out  and got a second (or third, who knows) rhinoplasty that sharpened his nose and contributed to masculinize the overall feel of his face (from “boyish” to “manly”). It is now more refined and less apparent.

As for his eyes, I think he got his eyelids clipped again (from previous images on this thread). Many idols who do eyelid surgery and define their eyelids too much tend to lose that innocent and glistening spark, much like SNSD‘s Yuri lost that “authenticity” to her gaze once she got her eyes redone post-debut.

I really like and respect Lorry and agree with most of what she says here. I think she missed a couple of very important procedures performed on Rosè, though, namely her chin implant, buccal fat removal and jaw shave. I wish she had gone through a wider array of pre ps photos. 
Srsly I wonder why Rosè’s jaw shave isn’t as talked about as Wendy’s. It did absolutely nought for her visuals. The oblong shape and mask effect many people pinpoint in pictures is due to that. Before, she had a shorter, less protruding chin and stronger jaw to balance out the length of her face. Eff the V-line beauty standard, for fruit’s sake, it’s horrid!

I also noticed that Karina’s jaw shave is what contributes to her neck appearing so effing long and that weird  feeling of her face being dettached from the rest of her body.

Like, look at that long-ass neck.

Anyways, as muck as her surgeon gets blamed on here, if I were here her I would be eternally grateful to him. The work done on her was freaking next-level. Like, how do you go from this...

Also, her rhinoplasty is a 10/10 in my book.

Actually, the Korean public seem not to mind nose bumps as long as the bridge is high and reasonably narrow. Like, they love Sana‘s nose, even though it is the slightly upturned version of a Roman nose.

Allow me to help.

Okay, she started out with an epicanthoplasty, blepharoplasty and a rhinoplasty that narrowed her nose bridge and heightened it through a possible implant, lip fillers + likely whitening injections.

Boombayah-Whistle Era: Remains the same.

Playing With Fire- Stay Era: Pretty much the same.

 

Almost 1 year break:

 

 

As If It’s Your Last Era: Very likely botox injections to the masseter muscle. Her jaw retains its angle but looks quite narrowed down. She still had her fluffy cheeks, so it can’t be pinned to fat loss just yet. Obvious chin filler before her implant.

 

1 year break.

Second rhinoplasty. Nostrils have been tucked in. Bichectomy, no traces of facial fat even though her weight has remained the same. Small chin implant. It has now more projection from the side profile.

She‘s natural. I actually don‘t get why people think she‘s not? Like, her features are far from being the cookie-cutter ski-slope nose and sharp-arse V-line. Her nose would actually be considered a bit too prominent and bulbous, her mouth is HUGE, as well as those unrealistically big eyes and she has a pretty strong bone structure. Doesn‘t look like your ideal K-Visual from most angles, yet her features, when combined, work wonderfully well (everything about them is prominent and strong, so nothing looks out of place). She looks super pretty, but it is a human, irregularly spaced features pretty. It‘s kind of refreshing.

Carboxy shots are fairly common to achieve slim legs: Sulli, Luna, Yuri, DIA’s Chaeyeon and SNSD Yuri all got them. (Wrote it before reading your disclaimer, lol)

T-ARA’s Jiyeon got breasts implants recently, and so did Luna.

I think a slim figure with good proportions is what is sought after. I can‘t see most idols going crazy with huge silicone boobs, BBLs and hip fat transfers, tbh. Female idols resort to padding for both their chest and hips.

They‘re actually teens, hence them being a bit too rash and inarticulate.

 

Lorry has herself talked extensively about her own plastic surgery, so I don’t get why she‘s being “acused“ of it. She also states that the information she shares is her opinion only, and she provides visual fucking evidence for the procedures she thinks the celebs she analyses have had done. Like, don‘t start worrying about foreigners thinking most idols are made beauties. Most of them are, it is a darned reality, and it is extremely harmful to deny its being so. Lifting the veil will actually help that one Korean teen girl that is extremely insecure and worries about why her jaw isn‘t naturally sharp, her eyes round and big with deep creases, her nosebridge of an extremely unlikely height to her skull shape. It will help her see that she doesn‘t have to look like that, that she isn‘t supposed to, because most people who look like that started off looking like her in the first place. This really makes me so sad.

PD: And, at this point, the baby fat thing... sigh. I had an ED myself when I was 14, I lost 18 kilograms and when you lose so much fat that it takes away from your face volume, your entire face becomes haggard. Unless you are obese to start with, you arent going to go from sagging cheeks to V-line just by losing weight. Your nose might become a more prominent feature on your face due to the rest of it being shrunk, but it doesn’t mean you are going to get a higher bridge, less flared nostrils and a sharper tip. Your eyes don’t magically change shape. Your jawline may get more defined, thus resulting in it being more apparent, not narrower. Like, bitch, c‘mon.

PS in Korea has extremely high rates among commoners. That rate gets multiplied among celebrities and particularly idols and actors who basically thrive off their looks. People who‘ve worked in it and idols themselves have said that everyone does it. Literally everyone. Heck, they even get pressured into undergoing invasive procedures when they are trainees. An untouched face (not counting botox and skin treatments) is extremely rare. It does happen, yes, but as an exception that proves a rule.

Okay guys, so today I learnt something new.

A jaw shave doesn’t necessarily involve getting rid of a naturally angular shape. It may sometimes consist of its being softened and reduced in size.

They actually suit her, even if the implants are on the bigger side. She has a strong frame and tends to fleshiness and has that strong voluptuousness reeking off of her. I honestly could have believed it had I been told she’s that glamourous naturally.

Plus going to therapy is pretty looked down upon and since their kids are celebs it's even worse. Poor Yuta probably sees his parents two times a year if he's lucky...his parents probably don't even know their kid anymore. 

Even the Aespa girls are worrying...especially the one that completely changed her face.

Yes, Karina did her jaw last, that is obvious. I think she did braces first, then eyelids, then nose, and then *sigh* her lower face. And now I suspect Winter did facial contouring as well. The surgeon literally had to carve her a new face. They could have changed the same amount, I just think they should have done it differently. Starting by not giving homegirl here freaking rectangular shaped nostrils. She should have gone to whomever was the god walking on earth that did Miss Irene’s or Chaeyeon’s nose. Everytime I see their noses, I weep with tears of joy and my period becomes less crampy.
 

On the other hand, imma sue the doctor that consented to botoxing such young kids. I feel uncomfortable looking at them sometimes, they can barely move their faces. I was watching their videos (as a good SM stan, I don’t stan every single SM group, but I do follow them and like to consume their content because they’re top notch quality more often than not) and good Virgin Mary, Karina couldn’t even smile, her cheeks were about to burst. She’s a fucking 20 year old and a performer, the Main Dancer in her group, so let her have facial expressions for the love of everything that is holly!

Ning Ning may be botched, but in a way that actually suits her? I agree that she looks peculiar, but extremely pretty and appealing at the same time. Like, there’s still warmth and expression to her face, maybe because her procedures weren’t quite as invasive and didn’t take bone away or shit like that.

She may be enhanced, but she looks like she’s made out of flesh and bone.

Pretty much the same with Giselle. She may have had done just as much as the others and some of her features look a bit to perfectly sculpted, but nothing has been as overdone as with K and W. Her face still moves like that of a normal human being. 

With Karina it’s like entering Uncanny Valley territory. I think she looks good for the groups concept, but her jaw is honestly a bit too much. Tremendously gorgeous with the correct styling, but I agree with what has already been said: how will that age? And what maintenance will it require?

Winter’s face looks like a wax figure. Super pretty, yet you can tell something is off with just about everything.

They’re one of the most aesthetically pleasing groups rn IMO, yet I somehow feel bad for it because that unachievable level of polish is probably what SM was going for. And they had that pressure upon them at what... 18 years old? It makes sense not to have heard of Giselle before since she joined the company late, but with how loud and about SM has always been when promoting their visuals and creating buzz around them, it makes me think of them not being able to showcase Winter until her surgeries had healed and the swelling had partialy gone down. It’s honestly disheartening and makes me feel a squirm. We can all discuss here in good fun, but the reality is a dark, nasty one.

Chaeyeon is an example where there was enough genetic groundwork and a nose job (plus maybe some other tweaks) proved to bring that girl to a legendary status. 

I guess my point is that plastic surgery is best used sparingly and a complete face overhaul just isn't as successful because I think we still lack the nuances and the technology to truly achieve a beautiful outcome. Surgeons aren't quite gods yet. Plenty of things can go wrong as well as age terribly (and second rhinoplasties are a bitch).

Any info on StayC? They look like what I'd expect an SM group to look like, honestly. Yoon is like a doll but I really wonder if her nose is natural. Seeun is also really pretty and reminds me of Sulli a bit.

I absolutely agree with you about Sulli. She was the prettiest idol there’s ever been to me.

And I also agree that less is more when it comes to cosmetic enhancements. A well done nose job, following the natural lines of the face or a minor tweak to uneven eyes can work wonders on people that have an otherwise God-given bone structure or facial harmony. You just bring a feature to be more balanced so that it compliments the others. Most people who look naturally beautiful and have had ps had minor work done, and what little they got was designed to fit their face and their face only. It gets messed up when the continuity that connects one feature or another gets disrupted for the sake of fitting into a strict standard.

Her features before was cute & a bit chubby. Now she's more soft, delicate, & sexy. I think all this work started from either late 2018 - late 2019, so not many people realized

I think Mina has had a minor nose job, her tip now is less bulbous and looks sharper and more defined, but she‘s done it postdebut. Look at her sixteen nose vs her nose now and you‘ll know what I‘m talking about. She also gets botox every now and then, and I think that‘s about it. She‘s naturally blessed.

That‘s what irks me too! Being idols is their job, not their whole identity, and the changes to their appearance are pretty much permanent. So who cares if you look like gorgeous AI for a while if your gonna have to get multiple touch ups over time (they will require maintenance and will probably add on what they already have had done, we know SM)  and that comes along with a bunch of complications (I also wonder how that might affect their psychology).

As far as I know, Herin left to join Idol School and try her luck, then realised being an idol wasn‘t for her and went back to her homeland. Not long after that, she posted a tweet in which she said that she didn‘t support an industry that‘s so sexist, fat shames, brainwashes and destroys children and even adults. There are also korean netizens who said SM was no longer interested in her because, when she grew into her features, her visual wasn‘t considered to be up to par. 

As for the other three kids, I‘ve also speculated about their reason for leaving. Not only becuase some of them wouldn‘t fit in with the groups image (it was generally known that they already had the skills) but also because they were probably suggested to adapt to it, namely, to get plastic surgery. You think SM would willingly let go of girls who already had a solid fanbase and would have surely generated buzz when debuting? I don’t think so, it seems fishy.

Also, you have to keep in mind that many Knetz are actually fans, and they may be in denial of change and attribute transformations to the loss of baby fat. Hence, Doyoung, who I believe has undergone those three procedures and lip fillers on top of that.

As for Karina... as @fullofjoy pointed out earlier, people have become so used to plastic beauty that they can no longer tell it apart from a natural one. In a country in which plastic surgery is as prevalent as South Korea, go figure.

Yes! She had the face of a fairy to start with, such unique and distinctive looks, and yet so freaking pretty!

Luna looked half Latina and so healthy and alluring, there was nothing wrong with her.

A trend I‘m used to seeing is that when people (in this case, idols) go even a bit overboard on plastic surgery they add in polish and refinement what they‘ve taken away from freshness and youth. Like, there‘s no spark there, or it doesn‘t shine half as bright. It trades uniquenes and individuality for sharper looks on camera.
