oooh i had a look at the power of love trailer and i think you're right. im not sure if it's a revision or his nose job just settling, but the tip does look wider. it looks good, it helps with the elongated nostril thing he had going on and looks a bit more natural.

And Minghao. He IS actually is my favorite face in Kpop, I think he's stunning. I always go back and forth on whether he's had actual work done, or just some fillers (chin, lips), but like Hoshi, I hope he stays more natural. He's gorgeous.

This thread has been super interesting and helpful to learn more about plastic surgery in general. I don't like the word pervasive per se as it sounds so negative, but it really is SO pervasive in the industry.

100% agree with hoshi. i really think he's one of the best-looking idols in the industry specifically because he's so unique looking (and he has a very cute smile). no one else looks like him (except dino sometimes lol) i dont think there are many other idols who are so openly proud of their monolids like hoshi is. there's also a story going around that hoshi was one of the last members to be included in the initial seventeen lineup because he refused to get plastic surgery. the fillers are so tragic to me specifically because i love how expressive he is and fillers make it harder to move your face. 

the one good thing here is that it seems like he's only got fillers so far, nothing permanent. hopefully he will lay off them soon, but i dont really see that happening.

 

minghao has almost certainly gotten fillers in his nose. it's a lot pointier than it was at debut. i go back and forward about whether he had a full on nosejob though. i also definitely think he gets lip fillers regularly. they're a lot fuller than they used to be

yeah, it's super obvious in the teaser video they just released. her nose looks too big for her face. they've given her the hybe special

And the facial fillers have been around for years, it's hard to pinpoint when exactly a certain idol starts experimenting with it unless they appear with a whole pillow face one day. 

oof yeah, i see what you mean, his lip fillers have been going on for a while. it's sad, because i think his fillers in those photos you posted a year ago are actually pretty well done - they're look natural but do actually make a change. i think this happens with all idols, they use fillers sparingly but get more and more confident until one day it becomes obvious

Idk if the angle is making it worse but what do we think is going on here? Is this the result of a collapsing nose job that was probably done predebut? (I do think he did something to his nose pre debut and nothing much since, I'll attach photos of him pre debut at age 14/15 ish in the spoiler) If he's since had another nose job I haven't noticed anything to suggest it...

Or is this just what his nose looks like without upper bridge filler? Since the insta photo was probably just before comeback activities started being filmed, and he hadn't had a filler top-up at this point. I have noticed in official photos his upper bridge looks much taller and straighter with more mass in that bit just between his eyes which I assumed was down to photoshop. This was his nose in September 2015, a few months after debut with a very straight bridge from the side on and what I assume is a relatively fresh nose job:

there's no way dino is 168cm. he's officially 174cm and while i am 90% convinced they're increasing his height, there's no way it's by 6cm. personally, i reckon he's around 171-172cm. also, no way that seungkwan is 179cm, i would say his official height of 174cm is accurate. 

also, i'm pretty suspicious about all of the heights that are taller than their official height. companies have an incentive to lie and say their male idols are taller than they actually are, but why would they say they're shorter? the only one i believe is taller than his official height is vernon bc it seems clear that he didn't stop growing until he was pretty old.

this popped up in my YouTube recommended and i was so stunned by who this is. he's got heavy makeup on here, but his nose and lips aren't what i remember.

jeonghan has definitely done something to his nose. someone posted this gif a while ago, which is a but outdated now but it shows how much he's touched his nose.

 

he's just continued touching it and his nose tip gets smaller and smaller, and i think he raised his nose bridge too. compare it to now: 

they're all quite small changes, but they have definitely changed his look

his teeth were really good before, I can't imagine a dentist looking at them and deciding that veneers were cosmetically necessary (unless they just wanted that cheque of course)

I think at minimum Dino got whitening, then either bonding or the front teeth shaved down slightly flatter to make it all straight and more horizontal. I believe I noticed the whitening ages ago but only now it's recently clicked.

Dino has never been called a bunny idol or is overtly buck-toothed since he has no space between them but his front teeth sometimes are/were noticable peeking out between his lips sometimes, with quite a rounded edge so I guess they could be considered "long".

I swear I saw another new selfie in the last few days with his new blonde hair and lots of teeth and gum show/smiling and his teeth looked the same as usual to me and ofc I can't find it. He was in the left hand side of the picture looking towards the right if anyone can find it. I swear it exists.

Either way if he did or not, Dino looks great honestly, he really shined at Caratland. He's really maximizing his looks in a way many would never pick up on. 

he's the king of good plastic surgery. although i think his nosejob was entirely unnecessary, there's no denying that it settled really well and you seriously wouldn't be able to tell he got it if you hadn't seen what he looked like before.

Dino too? Comparing his lips from 2019 to 2023 (during comeback season, so when he would get fillers) I can't see any difference

I wouldn’t be surprised if for at least some idols who are of age hide or don’t mention some of the things they get done, this goes double for international parents who don’t get to see their kids that often. 

one thing that i think we have to bear in mind is that often companies will say that idols have to get PS in order to debut. and no one wants to be the person to stop their child from achieving their dreams, so they might go along with it even if they aren't happy about it.
