I've seen a lot of tiktoks around where girls don't exactly overline their lips but smudge some sheer-ish lipstick above their upper lip just like this and being the unhip, old person i am i just assumed it was a new makeup trend.

I don't think we can 100% exclude that she didn't get any procedure to help her shed a few extra centimeters but it might as well just her growing up. I feel like we are forgetting that she was 15 when she debuted and she turned 18 now, most girls are only fully developed in their late teens (and for some it could take a few extra years) so maybe the changes were natural.

My waist looks like that as well and it took some time to "get" my current waist to hip ratio

Tiktok doctor said she got a nose job, which honestly surprised me because I didn't get that vibe from watching her onscreen (didn't look through her photos yet). I expected some work possibly around the eyes or jaw, but not exactly the nose since it still looks natural and not the type Koreans usually go for imo. If it's true then her surgeon did a pretty good job. 

I also saw someone suggesting in another forum (was it reddit?) that she may have gotten something done around her hips because of her waist to hip ratio, but I'm not too sure. 

About her hips, we'd honestly need some before pics to see if there was a change but I honestly think that people are so used to the Kardashian clan and their multiple BBL that they forget that some women are just shaped like that naturally.

Irene has definitely had a few things done post-debut: I think she had her double eye-lids redone around...Russian Roulette era maybe? Definitely by 2017 Red Summer era, you could see how much more pronounced they were. I also think she potentially had something done to make her eyes look bigger laterally, either an outer epicanthoplasty or lateral canthoplasty. And, she had an alarplasty done to bring her nostrils in (looking at Happiness era pictures, they were a bit more flared before). She's definitely subtly changed across the years, and she has that SM leading lady/visual look more than ever.

But her smile lines are something she's always had, she's just not hiding them here and they aren't airbrushed away like you said. As another commenter said, it gives her a mature look that I think suits her.

tbh I never really thought she and Tiffany looked alike before so I guess it's mostly the styling, but I agree,  there's something around the mouth/nose area.

SES Shoo didn't age very well tbh, thats 1 1st gen idol I remember. 

Now that I go back, he gets photoshopped a lot and that kind of affects my perception of him. I think he didn't look as good in 2018 (nose filler gone wrong?), but he seems to have stopped. 

 

But to me, BoA looks significantly older than I expected -- especially since she's so young. Although I wouldn't say she's aging badly just yet. I think she gets too many fillers.

On a similar tangent, is that what happened to Mamamoo Solar? For some reason I think she's aged harder than most idols her age. I know before, she did have a bit of that typical Korean PS look, but her makeup and older style doesn't really help her now. There's a pretty big difference from 2016/2017 to even 2019. 

 

 

 

i feel like the way foundation is applied really helps with making idols in general look "plasticky". Human skin just doesn't look perfectly poreless and shiny.

With idols like BoA i always wonder how much is the ageing due to them tweaking with their faces too much and how much it's just the idol life catching up to them. All of that stress, physical exhaustion, lack of sleep and borderline malnutrition cannot be good for the skin.

Plus a lot of idols smoke to cope with stress.

Edit: I do think some of them may have gotten tweaks here and there, two members I believe were mentioned earlier here too. The "natural beauty" thing just rubs me off a bit since sometimes it comes shady towards those who are know to have gotten work, like aespa I suppose. It's giving "the girl who wears no makeup is so much better than the other one who does" vibes when there's also a good chance that no makeup girl is just wearing natural makeup lol. 

Yeah but also the natural beauty thing is really disingenuous because most idols had something tweaked so companies are straight up lying when they push this "natural beauty" agenda. Which is a huge issue to me because kids look up to them and they get upset and insecure that they can't be as naturally beautiful as their fave.

it's like when yge had bp record their teaser with a phone camera to show that the where natural beauties and they didn't need fancy lighting or filters to look pretty unlike other groups.

It was not only super shady but also a goddamn lie because we know that the girls had a lot of work done to look as the most beautiful version of themselves.

i just saw their latest teasers and i feel like Jiwoo had some work done to her nose, there's a lot of space between her nostrils and the tip of her nose and I only ever saw that in people with nose implants.

i watched it before it was taken down, Lori was very respectful and full of compliments as usual.

i wasn't paying too much attention but i remember that it was a very mild video? there was a possible blepharoplasty, a nosejob and liposuction to smooth out the body's contours (if that's the right word?) (i think she was also talking about a possible ponytail facelift and breast lift but I could be misremembering).

I know she's really young but there's something about her nose that looks incredibly off from certain angles (the tip especially). It might just be the unblended contour but idk.

in the first gif i can see something that might be a scar on her columella but again it might be the lightning or makeup.

I think it's not a secret she looks quite different from what she used to look like but my main issue here is that I keep forgetting she's in her mid 30s. I've done some digging online and apparently, the discussions about her ever changing face started all the way back in the 00s. Also by the early 2010s quite a few people noticed that she looked much older than she was supposed to be. According to BoA herself, people think she's older than she is because she debuted at 13 but I don't think it's the real reason.

BoA had a lot done but my opinion is that the idol life just makes you age faster with all the extreme dieting, the stress/pressure, very little sleep/rest and gruesome training practicing plus the fact that smoking and heavy drinking are very common.

On a tv show she said that her hip is in such bad shape that she developed a condition that is usually found in much older people and iirc she went on a tirade about the fact that she blames her small stature on SM because they had her on a super strict diet when she was super young and she believes that that stunted her growth so it wouldn't really surpise me if her job is what it makes her look older.

most of the time is because the change is gradual so if you follow a group you might notice that something is a bit different but unless the change is super drastic you might have a hard time identifying what exactly changed.

With wjsn specifically I feel like most members had reasonably subtle work and that's easy to miss unless you are really looking for it.

For example,Yeorum, Exy and Seola all had nosejobs but they kept their noses very similar to their og ones, they didn't change the shape or size drastically.

I don't think anyone is denying that Dawon and Dayoung had a lot of procedures and that some members go a bit crazy with fillers when there's a comeback but tbh i feel like people exaggerate when they talk about how unrecognisable every single member has gotten.

I feel like Jihyo does use pushup bras and padding but you also have to consider that she might be using sport bras during concerts to be more comfortable.

But her chest seems absolutely natural to me. If she had implants you'd notice them in that pic where she's wearing the green top.

Also, her chest might have grown since debut, I went from a c cup in my last year of high school to a d/dd when I finished university.

You can actually kind of see it in the screen grab there. It may also be because she is quite thin at the moment.

About the lines around the mouth. To me they just like the muscles around her mouth doing their job but I'm thinking that the lack of facial fat makes them look more noticeable.

I think it's the eyeliner, if you look carefully you can see that her eye corner is actually further in and up.

She has been doing "doll eyes" makeup since her 2ne1 days but I noticed that lately it makes her eyes look super droopy. Not always tho....

I’m actually shocked no one on this thread caught that Yuna just had simple fillers on her hips lol. And yes, you can get this done. Yuna was never shaped like she is now. The dead giveaway is 0 hipbone, the girl has barely any fat. You should see atleast a little bit, especially with how wide the hips are and how skinny she is, it’s inevitable. But you see none, it looks smooth an unnatural. She wore the hippads for a reason lol. If she was shaped like this she would’ve never needed to do so.

legitimate question as I'm not an expert: her waist/abdomen and inner thighs now have shrunk drastically and while it might be just weight loss, could it be the result of a liposuction for a fat transfer?

I was reading up on the whole skinny bbl thing and a plastic surgeon in an article said that even with really thin people it's usually possible to find enough fat to harvest, they just have to get creative with the place they take it from (for example the take it from the calves, inner knees, back of the armpits)
