i feel like a lot of the wjsn members look so different from debut to now... to a point where they look still super pretty but also vaguely non-human (in a hani sort of way). like all their hair color was the same at debut but i could tell them apart better than i think i could now because their possible procedures are making their facial features sort of just blend together

 

 

seola, xuanyi, dayoung, dawon yeonjung, andsoobin are some the victims of this epidemic imo, i think starship artists seem to never know when to quit it

maybe it's because they're all relatively young and a new group but fromis_9 seems to have a lot of natural members imo (saerom, jiheon, gyuri, seoyeon, nakyung)

 

jisun - may have tweaked her nose tip? +lost weight

hayoung - a lot of her selfies/pics are heavily photoshopped so it's hard to tell... maybe eyes?

jiwon - eyes tweak +lost weight

chaeyoung - eyes(?) i think she admitted to it

xuanyi needs to stop with that chin filler. her facial features are overall much more harmonious without it

winter and giselle's noses are so distracting. everyone in aespa has got the same nose

is there a general consensus on karina's jaw/chin area? it looks a little uncanny at times but her head is so tiny so it wouldn't surprise me if she just had a naturally weak chin. also ning ning looks full of filler

hmmm i am not so sure about this photoshoot in particular but xuanyi uses a lot of filters on social media +contact lenses, which makes the changes in her face look 10x more drastic. she definitely had some work done, a very sad case imo. when she went off to china she got what looks like the chinese equivalent of the gangnam unnie combo deal. what i mean by this is she resembles fan bing bing in the way a gangnam unnie prototype is meant to resemble han gain

she was really cute and unique looking during her short time with wjsn

girl did NOT need that second nose job and eyelid touch up. and sometimes her chin is a little scary. but also makeup plays a big part, i think chinese makeup is a little more bold and often paired with a red lip while koreans is more natural looking

something i noticed is even if a group/idol is praised for being natural beauty it never lasts. i think of groups like f(x), oh my girl, twice for groups who were relatively "natural" around debut but over the years the little tweaks and fixes add up. it's actually smart because people will hardly notice.

the biggest shame imo is luna and yooa. yooa's monolids were so beautiful

anyone else think momoland's case is really sad? in 2017-2018 i remember they were cute and unique looking but since maybe around "I'm so hot" they started looking weird and they all just keep getting work done and not stopping. some of them are getting close to/have "the face" (jane, hyebin) just why would they do that???? some of it almost looks painful like jooe's overfilled lips

i agree aespa looks much better with more natural makeup and styling, especially ningning and giselle benefit. the members may have had some drastic procedures but certainly the flashy makeup and uncanny valley -esque snow app filters don't help. i think all kpop idols look way better without those creepy filters

Ning's jaw shave is extremely unfortunate. I suspected it right when her SYNK teaser dropped. As someone who followed Ning for 3 years before she debuted, I noticed that her face looked 'unbalanced' to me in her intro teaser.

 

this is so apparent to me now that it was pointed out. in older pictures she had a slightly wider and more squared jaw that i didnt even notice. (i guess because the few predebut photos i'd seen she had hair hiding the shape of her face). i'd like to think this is a weird screenshot, and most of the time her chubbier cheeks and round face masks the effect .. :s

what is it about stray kids hyunjin that makes him look so uncanny sometimes? i swear he didn't use to look like that... ever since he had shoulder length hair i noticed

my theory is a combo of jaw too weak/filled up lips that looks off balance

I think the styling is part of it but his nose, jaw, and maybe even eyes look suspicious to me.

this is really unfortunate. was never a fan of astro but i knew their names and i remember he had a really striking and masculine face (similar to like 2009 jonghyun). and it's almost completely redone. where his jaw mandible used to be now there is just excess skin that ages him, this seems so common with jaw shaves. the hair is reminding me of when the8 had a "glowup" which was attributed to his mullet lol. only this is not as subtle

make me think she had some tip work done too in addition to an alarplasty.

To be fair, I think her nose work dates way back. I already see alarplasty scars in the pic on the left from when she was a trainee.  

Here, however, I do see a slightly wider nose on the left than the one she has today (on the right.)

I think alarplasties are more common than a lot of us, myself included, realize. I think a lot of idols have had them, including ones who's noses look very similar to before. (The change from a conservative alarplasty can be VERY subtle). While looking for pictures of Jisoo, I found a shot of Lovelyz Jisoo. Being me, I immediately looked up her nose and saw what looks like alarplasty scars there as well. 

SF9's Hwiyoung is another idol who's nose I thought was natural, but he, like both Jisoos, seems to have alarplasty scars:

We talked about WJSN's Bona a while back and she's another example of an idol without obvious nose work but with scars that seem to point to a subtle alarplasty.

 

lovelyz jisoo nose job was so unnecessary. idk when exactly she got it done.. her nose was already perfect for her face, now it's too small and throws off the proportions

red velvet's joy also got her eyelids done - i'm not sure if she had them as a kid because her childhood pics are always so blurry. regardless, she definitely got surgery for her eyelids for debut, because her eyes look much different and way bigger and rounder in comparison. she also got them deepened again sometime down the line.

when idols eyelids close and they are kind of 'stuck' with a very harsh and sometimes uneven line, is this always a telltale of eyelid surgery? from my own observations there's a slight line that can stay visible with closed eyes since your eyelids were folded, but not stuck like it's been sewn. also, it can kind of have that harsh look if there is tension in your lid like you're squeezing your eye/s shut. but often that isn't the case, they can be blinking and their eyelid doesn't unfold

my assumptions for lightsum:

chowon: nose and whitewashed since produce48

juhyeon: ??? she could be natural, looks relatively the same you could assume her changes are from the dolled up idol styling

yujeong: eyelid surgery or eyelid tape, on p48 she had monolids

nayoung: i would guess shes more or less natural

idk about the others but they are all really pretty and distinct from each other. i hope sangah never messes with her cheekbones or jaw

yes eugene was basically the sex symbol of buzzfeed lol. it makes sense i suppose he doesn't fit the korean ideal, as they focus on individual features more than overall facial harmony. small eyes, tan skin, +prominent bone structure, but to me it seems these are all traits that americans like and find striking/unique. plus he was funny and fashionable. i even remember a video where the try guys went to a plastic surgeon so he could tell him what hypothetical procedures he'd recommend, and eugene was recommended almost nothing despite what he thought. his facial symmetry was just amazing

what do people think of mijoo? to me she's had a transformation over time but i cant pinpoint exact changes. i think shortly after debut she lost some weight and kept it off, her cheeks were rounder and now her face seems more obviously diamond shaped. which it seemed to be naturally but at some point there was an uncanny feel.. she is known to have a big mouth, but now it looks more off balance sometimes when she smiles as well as her teeth. but also i think lots of her current makeup styles particularly her eyebrows arent the most flattering.

the others nothing really jumps out at me, +they're young and just debuted. sadly i'm sure we'll see them get little tweaks throughout their career
