For @loveablejoy and anyone else who's curious about Ryujin, kpoprocedure made a post about her recently with some really good points that I pretty much agree with. I'll link it here, but basically they speculate that Ryujin has had lip fillers, cheek fillers, double-eyelid surgery (once, not twice), upper blepharoplasty, epicanthoplasty, nasal bridge/maybe tip filler, and chin/side of chin filler. Essentially, most of her recent changes are down to fillers changing her facial volume. I hope that helps!

He's fairly natural in my opinion as well, but I do see a couple subtle changes. There's the buccal fat removal and also what looks like some really subtle nose work predebut:

It looks like the nostrils were taken in and the tip refined very subtly. I think he also lifts his nose tip and fills in the slight hump in the bridge with filler. The bridge is somewhat irregular (it's not perfectly straight) so I doubt there was an implant placed. It looks like he left his naturally thin lips alone and I don't see any eye work, though I could have missed something as spotting eye work isn't really my forte.

Since debut, I honestly don't see any major changes in his features:

I think TBZ in general had the bulk of their work predebut and (except for maybe New) haven't really had much done since.

His looks definitely changed after getting thinner brows – a good example of such a change is Twice's Nayeon, who got a completely new look and feel after almost slicing off the lower half of her eyebrows.





This might come off as harsh, and I'm sorry, but his nose screams implant and/or alarplasty. With these cast shadows showing such straight lines from tip to bridge (a seamless transition, no difference in width whatsoever), my mind just screams "Implant! implant! implant!" yet, he seems to have a bump on his bridge from the profile view. I'm almost 100% sure he did something to it, I just cannot seem to pinpoint it. The shadows and light definitely speak for themselves though.

Hey! I agree with you about his nose work (I think we were writing about it at the same time haha). I think he had an alarplasty, like you said, but I'm not so sure about the implant. There's a bump from side profile, like you mentioned, which is a tell tale sigh that there isn't an implant in there. The difference is pretty clear when compared to Younghoon who I'm quite sure has an implant:

Hyunjae's nose also starts fairly low on his face which is unusual with silicone implants.

I honestly don't see a jaw shave. He had a weak mandible angle and some loose skin in his jaw area predebut and he still does:

His mandible angle is weak and gets hidden by skin frequently (which is quite common btw) but it's definitely there:

Besides that, his jaw hasn't gotten any narrower or much more v-shaped from the front. If anything, it looks slightly wider:

I do see what looks like some filler in his chin but the jaw itself doesn't look like it's been shaved. Overall, loose skin does not equal a jaw shave. Lots of people have that naturally. The same thing goes for weak mandible angles.

He has put on weight but there are definitely fillers too. His facial fullness has fluctuated throughout the years even when his weight has been stable.

2017: 

This is what I would say is roughly his "facial baseline" when at a healthy weight but without fillers. He's not as gaunt here as he was before 2016 but he also doesn't have the facial fullness he has today.

2018:

His face starts to look fuller here and looses some definition but it's nothing drastic. I would guess this is around the time he started dabbling in facial fillers but kept it fairly conservative.

2017 vs 2018:

 

From 2019 to the present his facial volume just fluctuates.

Of course, it's his face and entirely his choice what he does with it, but I do feel like Sehun never had the kind of face that was meant to be full. In my opinion, the fillers don't really enhance his features, like cosmetic procedures are meant to, and instead detract from them which is really a shame.

As far as I know, yes, it has during her active years though it looks like she had a jaw shave at some point predebut.

This was her jaw in 2017, circa Latata era (debut):

It still looks very steep here with no visible mandible angle (her jaw goes straight to her ear).

Her jaw can be very noticeable at times. I'd say it's one of the more obvious jaw shave cases where it just looks like something's missing:

If anyone's curious, I think you can see her original jaw in this predebut performance (it looks she's lost weight as well but I do think her actual jaw bone has likely changed, not just her facial fat):

The photos are probably unedited since they're from when she was getting convicted for gambling but she seems to have no mandible angle at all and the skin almost looks loose around her whole jawline?

Looking at her current pics I would say yes. There's no mandible angle in sight and her jaw looks extremely narrow and tapered from the front.

She might be a good example of how a jaw shave can look on someone out of their 20s/prime idol years though her case seems like it might be a little extreme.

Same here! I really just don't understand the logic behind messing with his nose. Yes, it wasn't the sharp, high kind of nose that koreans idealize but it was cute and fit his face fine. It didn't detract from any of his other features or call attention to itself, which I hate to say, his new nose does do, imo. I'm just praying that Starship will stop messing with him and leave the other boys alone, especially Taeyoung and Seongmin, who seem pretty much natural, at least for now.

I think they did try to age him up. He's been marketed as the visual of Cravity, and kind of given a more "mature" image than he had in X1, but honestly, he was maturing just fine with a combination of more sophisticated styling, natural growing up, and probably some dieting, knowing Starship. In flame era he looked quite mature compared to his X1 days but also very natural. They really did not need to mess with his nose.

My post haha! Yeah, I think I missed a couple things there (it was a while ago). Now, to update, I think she's had a nose job, epicanthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty, upper blepheroplasty, zygoma reduction, and forehead expansion (laser hair removal). All very subtle work and beautifully done imo!

He's not, I don't think. I posted about him a little while ago, but it seems to me like he's had a subtle nose job where nostrils were brought in and the tip was possibly refined. I think he also gets filler to raise his nose tip:

I think he also uses filler to raise and smooth out his bridge (there's a slight hump that's visible sometimes and not others). Kpoprocedure has pointed out that he may have had buccal fat removal (I'm not entirely sure but I think it's definitely a possibility). As for his eyes, I don't really see anything but spotting eye procedures is not really my forte.

Overall, I think he's fairly natural (at least for idol standards) but probably had a couple little tweaks. I hope that helps!

That could definitely be the case! I think it's a little hard to tell given differences in the quality/angles of the images. From my OP, the one on the left was taken from head on while the one on the right wad taken from a little below. Comparing the school pic to this pic from a more similar angle, I don't see a major difference in his eyelids, but then again, the difference in quality really makes it hard to tell

Ofc! Yeah, for the alarplasty scar thing he only has a mark on one nostril and it looks like it was there when he was a kid which I think would be enough debunk the theory that it's a scar from an alarplasty:

Here is the mark post-debut that people have speculated to be an alarplasty scar:

It looks like the same mark to me as in his audition pic-- it's only in his left nostril. Anyway, I hope that helps!

Hey! So I’ve been studying Kibbe for a couple years and I totally agree! I wish there was more understanding and appreciation for different body types in Korea/among kpop fans. Particularly yin types or types that have to accommodate curve (they tend to have softer flesh and look fuller even at lower weights.)

However, I do have to say that some of the girls you mentioned here aren’t actually Rs. I’d recommend checking out kibbexkpop on Reddit to see more typings and interact with the kpop kibbe community, but Ryujin is a soft natural and Hwasa most likely is as well. Both have curved hips but straight upper bodies which means they can’t be Rs because romantics have to accommodate something called double curve (curve on top and bottom). Jihyo is also an SN. She has clear width in her upper body she needs to accommodate. Having a larger chest does not automatically make her an R. She also looks much stronger and more toned than a softer, smaller R would. I’m not sure what the consensus around Swan is. She is quite young so her body may not be fully developed quite yet, making tying trickier. As for Joy, she is not a yin types at all, but is most likely in the natural family. She has a fairly straight figure and does not need to accommodate curve. 

You’re point still applies to the ladies you listed though. From what I’ve seen, SN is one of the types that tend to struggle most with their weight/hate for their figure in kpop. Take Jihyo, Suzy, Ailee, or even very recently, Jiwoo from NMIXX. Koreans tend to idolize types like FG, SC, and DC for female idols. Girls who don’t fit these archetypes are given a hard time and often, because the styling is usually gamine or classic clothing, are forced to wear outfits that don’t flatter them and make them look awkward next to their more petite members. I think this applies to PS as well where female idols often try to make their faces seem more C or G so they can better fit Korean ideals. Meanwhile, in the west types like SNs are idealized and you see plastic surgery and fashion trends shift to reflect that.

Actual pure Rs in kpop are few and far between, but some examples I can think of are Yujeong from Brave Girls, Bomi from Apink, Qri from T-ARA, Jiwon from FROMIS_9, Hyojung Oh My Girl, and Sunny SNSD. All beautiful women, and though Rs do struggle in kpop as well, I think they have it slightly easier than SNs because they’re more petite

More Juyeon content was released and all I can say is I'm relieved. I was holding out hope before that he hadn't touched the bridge but the pics available at that time were too blurry to tell. Now I can say that I don't think he has:

The work seems like it was very subtle and the only real difference I can see is the tip. It's shorter and doesn't droop so much, making the nose look less downturned as a result and the bridge more straight. However, looking just at his bridge in isolation, I think it looks pretty much the same (forgive my crappy screenshots lol):

There is still a slight hump and curvature there. I will continue to mourn his old tip ofc (it was so distinctive) but I'm glad it seems like he didn't change the unique feature he was actually born with (his bridge).

Wow they really photoshopped the heck out of all his features there, not just the nose. It looks like they were trying to make his face seem softer what with rounding out his jaw/chin and making his nose more upturned? Kind of funny given it looks like they mostly left the other members alone. Anyway, he looks a lot more like himself in the actual video:

I too am mourning his old nose lol but I really don't think the new one that bad. His nostrils are flared in the first pic you posted bc he's talking (the pic overall looks strange and not like him) and the second is from a weird angle (not full side profile). In very recent pics (possibly even from today -- i couldn't find the exact date) his nose looks a lot more acceptable:

Yes, the tip has been shortened but it's really not that extreme. I think filler or a graft of some sort has also been added to the tip to raise it (what's creating the ski-slope effect from some angles). Overall, I definitely wouldn't call his nose voldemort-like. Though it's more generic than his old nose, It's not uncanny imo and fits his face fine. Also, let's take into account that idols are people too and that even if it's coming from a well-meaning place, likening someone's nose to Voldemort is an insult and insults are hurtful. We don't own idols and it's ultimately their choice what they do with their own faces/bodies. End of ted talk lol. And rip Juyeon's old nose but let's try to mourn it without dragging his new one.

Not just her eyes. She likely did her nose and jaw as well (she used to have a visible mandible angle but now her jaw goes straight to her ear.) That’s a lot of work and quite invasive. Love Tiffany but she’s nowhere near natural imo.

I stand by my initial theory of her getting a nose job/fillers/tip work. It has more projection now, though it looks natural still. I can't seem to find a clear picture of her side profile yet. Anyways, Le Sserafim/her fans were trying to say the girl with bangs isn't her, but it is lol.

My guess is she had her nasal tip narrowed and refined and an implant placed to raise her bridge. She has that Hybe L-shape going on:

I also suspect double eyelid surgery and an epicanthoplasty. There is a clear crease now she didn't have before and her inner corners look wider.
