The natural aging process is definitely a factor of why some idols get jaw shaving procedures too.

Basically, if their jaw gets smaller as they get older then they've most likely had something done. But if it hasn't/stays similar/gets slightly bigger/has more bone structure then they might not have had anything... I was trying to say that using child/teenager vs adult pictures aren't as good of a source. ^^

Yep. There is no point in referring back to childhood pictures. I try to refer back to pre-debut.

I think that has more to do with the condition of your skin as you age. For Leo his jaw didn't get bigger he has looser skin, so it hangs down making it look bigger

This clip shows a women whose nose an jaw didn't change, but as she aged and her skin wasn't as tight as she was when she was younger hung down making her face look bigger

Women and men age slightly differently. Leo's jaw definitely matured/became more square. It's not just his skin... lol.

I love this show. It's really interesting but some of the stories are so sad.

I don't think there's anything wrong with plastic surgery either. If you want it, then do it. It only becomes a problem if you're getting to the point where it's physically causing you damage or you're starting to look deformed due to excessive procedures...

I agree, I think as long as the person wants to do it, is well informed and it's done safely then I don't see what's wrong. The only time I think it's a problem is when people feel pressured into it or when there are other underlying issues that are ignored.

Btw is there a minimum age for PS in korea? How do people feel about people in high school getting plastic surgery? Or parents encouraging their kids to have it and offering it as birthday gifts and such?

From what I hear a lot of people feel pressured in getting plastic surgery, so they can improve their chances of getting a job. So if even the average Korean feels that pressure, it must be 10 times worse for idols who are in the public all the time and have to hear people judging them on their looks continuously.

Wow, I have never heard of that kind of surgery before... What is it for? To help breathing through the nostrils or just for style?

Yes, being pressured into plastic surgery is a common thing among Korea. Parents often buy their children procedures as graduation gifts. It's not uncommon to have it at a young age.

Idols have the pressure more than anyone else because the public is always watching them and some are going to pick at any "flaw" they can find. That's why it bothers me when people give idols a hard time for getting plastic surgery. On one hand, people will say, "omg she's/he's ugly" but then on the other hand, they'll go, "wow plastic monster" and it's like... ???????????? ;;

It's like, you try living that type of life and see how you feel...  :._.:

I watch it on Youtube.

I haven't found any subbed episodes of it, but the episodes are on Youtube. A lot of the clips uploaded on Youtube are just the last part of the episode where you see the before and afters.

Even my friend living here (born in S.K. but moved to US for high school) was sort of pressured by her mother to get a double-eyelid surgery. She was attending college here and now is in professional school here and will probably remain here- but her mother still felt it was useful I suppose. Personally I'm extremely glad she didn't have it done- as she is so damn beautiful already and I thought it would take away from her beauty, but I wouldn't have hated her if she did get it done. It is her body and I would want her to feel comfortable in it- but of course, the biggest issue for the both of us and our other Korean friends who were against it- was if it was being done for the right reasons- as in to fit in with a certain beauty standard or for whatever personal reasons. I think it's wrong when a family member pressures you into PS, you should only want it for yourself, not because someone wants it for you.

Okay so I have been wanting to know once and for all what this girl really has gotten done. There are only two possibilities: nose or eyes

The thing with Sunny is that no one really agrees on what she got. Some
people say her nose or just her eyes. I being just one person am not sure based
on inconsistencies with her selcas (which I base most of my deductive reasoning
from).
Predebut nose:

http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae61/...

Current:
http://data.whicdn.com/images/30186121/s...
http://upic.me/i/7z/a0022701_4c486593f3b...
http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lggc0mE7e...
http://snsdpics.com/wp-content/uploads/2...

to me (I could be wrong) all these noses look like this one
http://i734.photobucket.com/albums/ww348...
Eyes:
Her eyes are kinda funny...there is a picture of her eyes that we all know
which is this one
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae61/...

but there are pictures of her eyes where her eyes aren't so...idk
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae61/...
http://i50.tinypic.com/ne6zoj.jpg...
Now I saw a pic of Sunny when she closed her eyes and sometimes she will have a crease line
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lkvo5j...
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BPh0AaRCcAEv...
http://i2.minus.com/iKUCQ6Xx7t0l0.jpg...
but other times it won't be there at all
http://24.media.tumblr.com/ea70a41f073c2...

http://i7.minus.com/ibs52OQGmV0P3b.jpg...
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tWfmso6yZpo/Tr...
so really I don't know what she got done to her eyes since sometimes its hard to determine where her crease is.

I would say she did get double eyelid surgery. I wouldn't suggest using tape daily or regularly because it could result in your lids sagging and a hassle to fix (though surgery). Surgery would be the most logical choice. It might be loss of fat/water in the lids but very unlikely and water retention is so unreliable because you never know when your lids will flip out on you :/.

I would say that the reason why her lids aren't showing is because of lighting, makeup, and photo quality. Unless light is hitting her face 'directly', the top part of her lids will be emphasized more. I can still tell that she has a lower lid and not a monolid with crazy amount of eyeliner in all the photos except one in your examples

As for her nose, it looks like she made it higher and sharpened her tip (I'll try to find pictures later for comparison). I like how with SM plastic surgery, they keep some of the characteristics of your original nose or feature.

As many of their fans will know, the members of Brown Eyed Girls are not shy about the topic of plastic surgery. During a recent appearance on tvN's "Taxi", the members talked about their personal experience with plastic surgery, specifically Miryo and Ga In.

It all started when one of the show's hosts, Kim Gu Ra, asked Ga In, "Is the dark eyeliner hiding the possibility that you've been having double eyelid surgery little by little? I feel like your eyes have gotten gradually bigger since your debut days."

"I didn't get any plastic surgery," she said. "So many people are keeping a close watch on my eyes that I couldn't even undergo surgery. My eyes got bigger after naturally losing my baby fat."

She continued with, "Honestly, I went to the plastic surgery clinic once because I wanted to get double eyelids. However, my mother had already told the doctor, 'Tell her that it is impossible to do surgery on her eyes.' Back then, I cried a lot and gave up on double eyelid surgery. But around that time, the smokey eye make-up started becoming a trend."

Miryo also had something to say about plastic surgery. According to her, she searched herself shortly after the group's latest song, "Kill Bill", came out, and she saw that many people believed that she had left the group. Apparently, not many people recognized her after she got plastic surgery.

"I evolved with each album," she explained.

JeA gave an example of Miryo's new mistaken identity. "We went to a recording studio yesterday, and Kim Na Young thought Miryo was some other rookie singer, so she ignored Miryo and greeted only the rest of us."

"I think I'm going to love me for me now," Miryo concluded. "I'm satisfied with how I look. I won't be getting anymore plastic surgery."

Women and men age slightly differently. Leo's jaw definitely matured/became more square. It's not just his skin... lol.

i beg to differ, this man's jaw has stayed the same for 12 years, the only difference was that as he aged he gained weight thus his face appeared wider.

Leo has always had a square jaw

he just gained weight and now the weight makes his skin sag a little

Of course not everyone is the same and there will be exceptions, but I personally know people that have more square jaws now than they did when they were younger...

It's not really something that can be argued imo. Hormones and puberty are going to change your face. ;;;;;

As for Leo... his face got fuller as he got older and again, I really don't think it's just his skin.

Yea it's sad when family members feel the need to pressure other into surgery. I suppose the idea that people must fit into a certain beauty standard to be worthy gets so ingrained in some people's minds that they feel like they are doing something right. I'm glad your friend felt confident enough about her looks not to give into pressure.

So double eyelid surgery must be the most common? I remember watching this a while ago and from 5:17 onwards they talk about it and how common it is among students.

there's the full video on here http://www.koreanhighschool.com/. They talk more about beauty standards and surgery and how Korea students feel about it etc...

i am sorry I don't see the difference in pics except that the later pic his face is fuller but not nearly as tight looking. His face looks aged hense why i don't think its "maturity" its weight gain. I could be wrong but I don't think people's faces mature after the age of 25 when they should have stopped growing.

I hate how idols are always pitted against each other too. Like members are compared to the visual and the visual to another visual. That does nothing to better relations between groups nor their confidence.
