Official Plastic Surgery Thread

Hello guys, this is my first time posting in this thread. I have a question. I searched for key words related to my question on this thread but I couldn't find anything.

Ok, so some of you might be familiar with Cindy Jackson:

link to her picture(for some reason I couldn't post it here).

She is the woman with the most cosmetic procedures (more than 50). Although her face does look somewhat fake and unnatural, she really looks good. Nevertheless, there are people who have even less procedures but they end up looking bad and the results are just terrible. Their face ends up looking lumpy and thick and their eyes sometimes end up on their forehead and their lips are huge etc. After seeing the picture I posted of Cindy Jackson, the following question popped up in my mind:

why do some people end up looking natural (or close to natural) after plastic surgery while some people who have had the same, or less, number of surgeries end up looking really unnatural? Do you guys think it has to do with the surgeon's level of skill, the materials used, unreasonable expectations, the amount of work done per surgery, or something else?

Thank you guys in advanced.

I think that is just due to lack of skill and not knowing how far they can go without messing things up. Also, everyone's face is unique, so some things don't turn out well on certain people like they would on others. Getting multiple things done at the same time can also be tricky. That's why some people prefer to space out their surgeries.

Another person I was kinda shocked by was Heidi Montag. She got 10 procedures in one day, and while you can definitely tell she's been snipped, she doesn't really look bad (compared to sad cases like Lil Kim, Lindsay Lohan, Latoya Jackson, etc). She talks about her breast implant complications here.

Thank you! You're right, Heidi Montag doesn't look bad. When they said in the video that the procedure to take her implants out was $22,000 I was just like . After all, if she went to such expensive doctors and came out looking good, then maybe there is a correlation between cost and skill level of the surgeon which can probably lead to getting more natural results.

Also, I guess that the cases where the patients end up looking bad (like Lil Kim, Lohan, and Latoya) are a result of the clients really having unrealistic expectations which as you said, may not turn out well for their faces.

What is your opinion on Ren?

I don't know if it's just the hair color and makeup but he looks very different (aside from the nose job). Especially the second and last photos.

In the second one, his bottom lip looks weird, especially when compared to before.images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSyH_wEI6viXvS7lEx9N1G

I think he also got his eyelids and chin done. The rest of his face looks a bit different because of aging. Is his ear lobe ripped in the last pic?

Yeah, it looks like he got his eyelids done as well. I knew something about his jaw/chin looked weird.

About the earlobe, I thought the same in the beginning. However, if you look in the previous pictures, you can see that his earring is really low. His earlobe looks ripped in the last picture because his ear was punctured too low.

Guys, I need your help!

Hyerin of EXID has bruises/marks on her eyes. She had been previously hiding them by wearing sunglasses.

Have you guys seen marks like these before? Can they be attributed to a surgery? If so, what procedure do you guys think she got done?

2dag7te.jpg

Also, in this video, both of her upper eyelids look weird, like swollen. You can see the marks and horizontal lines on her upper eyelids from 3:16 to 4:16.

I think the bruise on her lower eyelid, on her right eye (left for us), could be due to aegyo fat injections. However, that doesn't explain the mark on her upper eyelid or the weird horizontal lines on both of her upper eyelids. What do you guys think? Thank you  :)

Random question:

My top lips sticks out a bit further than my bottom lip, when observed from the side. Kind of like this (except I have fuller, m-shaped lips, like Key :hoplz: :hoplz:). (I couldn't find a better picture so this will have to suffice).

face-profile-2482810.jpg

However, I think most people's lips are even, like this.

227899qw0.jpg

Would you say that the fact that my upper lip protrudes slightly more than my lower lip is an indication that my jaw may not be perfectly aligned? Or do you think it's natural? I personally don't feel like I have jaw problems, and my chin is in harmony with the rest of my face, but I find it weird that like every other person's lips are aligned and mine are not perfectly aligned. However, people have said that that makes my lips look even more plump and pretty, so I'm not complaining.

I know it can be a sign of an underbite, but it isn't necessarily.

And an underbite is only an issue if it cases TMJ/ is prominent enough to be a deformity.

Are you sure it's not just bigger?

Ok, so I was looking for pictures of lips that resembled mine more than those in the pictures I posted and I found this.

2w2lvf9.jpg

My lower lip is just like her's (it is not all plump, but rather very slightly split in two. I don't know how else to explain it, lol. You can see the vertical line in the middle of her lower lip.) and also, my upper lip is like her upper lip, except my procheilon (the part below the cupid's bow and the two peaks) is fuller. Maybe that explains why, when observed from the side, my lips don't look aligned?

Another question. Do fat grafts in the cheeks make you look plastic or do they look relatively natural? Their main purpose is to make one look younger, right?

Do you think he has one of the most beautiful noses amongst male idols?

I really like the shape of his nose.

Do you think he had a rhinoplasty?

If he did, I need his plastic surgeon's contact information. :imstupid:  :imstupid:

I just saw these pictures on another thread and JR's eyes instantly caught my attention, especially the inner corner of his right eye.

Is this normal? Maybe he got the inner corners cut? But, even if he did, didn't the surgeon go too far or is this normal for people who get their inner corners cut?

Hi guys!!

Ok, so I want to get a rhinoplasty and I've been searching for doctors. It's been relatively difficult considering that most plastic surgeons here don't have websites (which I find strange since we're the 5th country with the most ps, behind the US, Brazil, japan, and South Korea) and you actually have to go to a consultation to see their work. I think it's due to the fact that people here value their privacy very much and plastic surgeons depend almost exclusively on word-of-mouth marketing.

Anyway, I was able to find the website of a plastic surgeon that works in one of the best hospitals in the country. He only has before and after pictures of two patients (and they look dated) and I'm just like  . He's supposed to be one of the best plastic surgeons in the country, and his patients seem to be pleased with his work, according to their reviews, but I'm not really impressed with his work:

What do you think about it?? I'm not the only one that finds it less than exemplary (to put it nicely), am I?? I'm quite curious to know if these women wanted their noses to look like that or if he recommended it (in which case he will never come anywhere near my nose).

I'm still only in my first year of university and I'll probably wait until my third year to get the surgery but so far I'm not exactly pleased with the work I've seen

you should research some other plastic surgeons before you make your decision

just because they're one of the top surgeons doesn't mean they're the right fit for you

but if you're really curious about them, you could always get a consultation and see what the surgeon is really like and then you can make up your mind from there

honestly, I kind don't like his/her work from what you've posted on here so far (their work is nice but it's really obvious/fake-looking and I don't think slope noses fits everyone's' face)

Yeah, I'll just keep looking. I don't like his work either.

This would be my ideal nose (from the ones I've seen so far):

tumblr_n13e5m5t961qaj51qo4_1280.jpgtumblr_mazm2xZVju1ryusnuo5_1280.jpg

I'm white, so my nose is already tall. All the surgeon would do would be reduce my slightly bulbous tip as well as my very slightly hanging columella. I'm very scared they'll mess it up, though. That terrifies me. I also don't want my upper lip to change since I actually get complimented quite frequently on my lips, lol (sometimes the angle of your upper lip can change after a rhinoplasty, right?? I've read comments saying that that's what happened to Taeyeon's upper lip.)

My advice to you, although you don't have to follow it or like it. So here's my two cents on this.

I think it's better if you do South Korean plastic surgery because they're really good at reshaping noses. Go to www.docfinderkorea.com and search what kind of surgery you want and they have some examples of the Doctors work. I'm not sure if the website is owned by Banobagi, a plastic surgery center but South Korea has a really good customer service when it comes to recovery.

I agree on you that his works aren't good. It also helps that South Korean Surgery companies have website and shows example of their works. You can also go to South Korean plastic surgery Tumblr and see her pics of examples of all known and has best results of each plastic surgery company. There's Cinderella Plastic Surgery and Banobagi Surgery are sometimes endorsed by Idol groups, (Cinderella PS Company are famous with idol groups.) They also have Youtube videos of clients and their testimonials, before and after looks.

I've thought about it in the past given how good South Korean doctors are (I mean, some of them do miracles, lol) but I always abandon the idea because I'm not sure it would be the best option given that I'm not Asian. I'm white and I doubt South Korean doctors have much experience with non-Asian noses. Or do they??

There might be a few white patients that have gotten stuff done by South Korean doctors but the vast vast majority are Asians. They specialize in 'issues' dealing with Asian faces. They might not completely fuck up your nose but you're probably going to be better off with a surgeon dealing with mostly white patients.

Ive watched some korean show and some white guy said that he went to korean doctors to get ps, but they didnt want to operate on him cause he is white and has different bone structures or something like that.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Thank you!!

I actually think the second nose job was very well done.

But be careful when going under the knife. Just a few days ago I read about how someone who was supposed to get fat removed from their belly and a breast lift had a horror experience. They didn't sedate her so it was incredibly painful, the fat removal was poorly done so she got "bumps" inside her and they didn't even do her breast job. After it was done she was left with massive scars on her belly (like you'd see in horror movies). So make sure you pic a qualified and skilled surgeon, and that everything is crystal clear in the contract.

This scares me so much. I've never been under general anesthesia. What if they don't administer the right dosage and I remain aware during the procedure  ?? I know the chances of that happening are slim to none but still, lol.

Honestly, if you're white go to LA. It's the Western capital for PS as far as I know.

The problem with noses is that they are one of the most racially characteristic features we have besides eyes (if compared to Asians) and general skull shape.

I'd just not do it in Korea. Believe me, I've thought about it too until I realized that the problems I have with my nose are not 'Asian' problems at all but generally Caucasian ones (too long, droops, kinda beak-ish). Unless you want your nose raised and more slender, I wouldn't do it.

About your lips, if you shorten your nose, you lengthen your..columella I think it's called? The area between your lips and nose. This can make your face look longer and your lips smaller and perhaps less pouty. It just changes your proportions, and as you can imagine, that can go wrong very easily lol. It doesn't have to though.

Really?? I'll be researching surgeons in LA. Thank you for the tip!!

That doctors work you posted is no good, don't go to him.

What country do you live in? If you were in America or able to come here, I'd tell you to only go to board certified. The websites and image of an office doesn't matter nearly as much as their standing with the medical boards and their peers. So, does your country have something like that? They should be able to provide you a list of doctors, and their education background.

You want a doctor with an artist eye. Not one that's going to give you a one size fits all ideal.

Yeah, I live in America. Mexico, to be exact. We do have the Mexican Board of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery which lists all the board certified plastic surgeons in the country, as well as their entire education and work backgrounds.

I had actually done some research on the most famous plastic surgeon in the country (He operates on celebrities). My mom told me to consider going to him because she liked the way he did this celebrity's nose

bel5.jpg

Turns out he charges about USD$16,000 :imstupid:  :imstupid: .

I did more research and found two very famous and world renown plastic surgeons: Ivo Pitanguy from Brazil and José Juri from Argentina (who apparently specializes in rhinoplasties). However, Pitanguy is now 89 :imstupid:  :imstupid:  and Juri is not too far behind. I don't feel comfortable getting operated on by elderly doctors who might be very well past their prime. OTL.

That's why everyone on the surgical team needs to be checked out, so feel free to ask about the anesthesiologist too.

Omg Belinda Peregrín, how do they know who did her work?

LA is not a bad idea, if you can swing it. Like Seoul though, there's a lot of them who are lazy and give everyone the same features.

I think Marilyn Monroe had one of the best nose jobs I've seen

Celebrity-Nose-Jobs1.jpg

She 100% did not need anything done, but she did her her tip refined and it added to her beauty. It still looked like her nose, just more grown up. Took her from beautiful and cute to very refined. (she also a chin implant)

Blake lively's was also very well done

and omg guys look at this poor woman's nose  :horror:

You know Belinda?? Are you Hispanic?? I read it here. The surgeon's name is Raúl López Infante. He also did Anahí's nose and it looks good, as well.

I have a question about fillers.

I've read comments saying that once you start getting fillers, you can't stop because your skin will look worse off and older after the fillers wear off. However, I've read comments from plastic surgeons (on realself) refuting this. They say that some fillers, like Restylane, actually promote collagen production.

tumblr_inline_nq7mrmHzAV1qf3b39_500.gif

I mean, I don't expect plastic surgeons to say that one of the procedures they carry out will make you look older in the long run if you stop, but at the same time, they're not only saying that it won't make you look older, but they're insinuating that fillers can actually leave you looking younger after the effect wears off.

I would say that fat grafting is better than fillers since you're getting your own fat injected, as opposed to synthetic chemicals, and the effects last longer. Fat grafting won't leave you looking plastic and fake like fillers often do, right?? The thing is, I've been reading comments saying that fat grafting is an extremely difficult procedure and it requires an expert injector as it's very easy for things to go wrong.

Do you guys think this guy has gotten work done on his face?? I think he's a Thai actor named Mick Thongraya. I don't know if it's just the effect of changing his hair color but his face looks really different in some of these photos.

Guys!! I need you to give me your thoughts on these plastic surgeons, please!!

My mom has allowed me to get a rhinoplasty. If everything goes well, I'm thinking about getting it during winter break so I can have enough time to recuperate before going back to uni. I'm a guy, btw.

Dr. Raúl López Infante

He's one of the most famous plastic surgeons in the country and has operated on many celebrities. He works at what is, arguably, the most famous hospital in the country (Hospital Ãngeles Lomas).

Here are some of his celebrity patients:

Dr. Luis Ortiz Oscoy

doc1.jpg.454x256_0_14_6512.jpg

Now, this doctor is a bit strange  . He's also famous and respected within the plastic surgeon community. Along with Dr. Raul Lopez Infante, he was taught by the most famous and respected plastic surgeon in the country (he passed away). However, I just called his office and asked if I would be able to see his work on previous patients during the consultation. His secretary said that due to professional ethic, he has to respect his patients' privacy and cannot show their photos :wut:  :wut:. According to online reviews (only 16, which is a lot for plastic surgeons in Mexico. Doctors don't usually have websites here and patients don't normally leave reviews), he specializes in rhinoplasties and his results are very natural.

Another thing, he gives speeches on "gamma meditation" and often talks about aliens :wth:  :wth: (he even owns a spa for this type of thing). I guess that's irrelevant. If he's good, he could host conferences about mermaids for all I care.

I'll translate some of the reviews:

"Dr. Luis Alfonso Ortiz Oscoy is a very recommendable plastic surgeon. He operated on my nose in 1992, when I was 18, and even today, my nose is perfect. Very few people can tell I got a rhinoplasty".

"What can I say? There is no other surgeon like him, he's the best, he has a gift. Furthermore, he's a wonderful man, because aside from the fact that he's a one-of-a-kind plastic surgeon, he doesn't hesitate to help others".

"I underwent a rhinoplasty 4 years ago...I look amazing! He chose the best nose for me and nobody can tell it's not natural".

"I got a rhinoplasty on February of this year [2014] and I love the results. He's an excellent surgeon and the nose is very natural and adequate for my face. Most of my friends haven't realized I got a rhinoplasty. I recommend him".

"He's the best plastic surgeon in Mexico. He operated on my nose and it looks so natural. I'm 39 and I told him I wanted botox, he told me that I did not need it, that I looked marvelous as I was. Any other surgeon won't do this".

"Well, he must be very professional because I told him I wanted to get my chin done as well as my nose and he told me I needed shocks and therapy, that I was beautiful and that he wouldn't operate on me and that if I went to any other surgeon, they would ruin my face".

"He's operated on me 4 times, always with great results. The best plastic surgeon, by far.

Dr. Abel de la Peña

I believe he's the director of the plastic surgery department at the same hospital as the first surgeon. He was my first choice until he posted some pictures of rhinoplasties on his twitter, last week.

He's also veeery famous and even participates on a show where they completely make over a participant each year.

The first doctor's rhinoplasties are very good. Especially Eiza Gonzalez's, her nose job is pure art. Belinda's 'after' nose is a little too small but still very natural looking.

I would be wary of getting a nose job by a doctor who doesn't show any before/afters. Even if some people like his rhinoplasties, it doesn't mean you would like them, because everyone has their own idea of what they want.

Do you really think Eiza's and Belinda's noses look natural?? I think so, as well (and I really like them), but my friend told me they looks super fake, so now I feel confused.
