am i the only one that thinks that gidle miyeon and the boyz’ hyunjae have the same nose? at least from the side they both remind me a lot of each other and i can’t find many pictures of them from the side predebut instead of full front but can that kind of perfect nose can’t be natural right?

do you guys think the holy trinity of procedures has changed in the newer gens? i remember that the three most common ones were T-zone: eyes, nose, chin for older groups. it feels like jaw surgeries are becoming more common.

wonyoung’s jaw area is the same as her predebut pictures from when she was 12-13, she has slimmed since so she lost the cheeks she had back then. if anything, maybe bucal fat removal? but i really doubt it. she’s used the snow app’s slimming filter on her face before too and honestly the no makeup-makeup that she has in the picture is kinda weird. 

edit: now that we’re on the subject of izone… anything on minju and chaewon? i believe chaewon is pretty much all natural? but i fear she’s gonna be getting a  nosejob in the future.

they do look different in motion, however it seems that there’s some time happening between some of their recorded content and their debut photoshoots because there was “recent” content from choyeon about two days before the teasers came out and she looked like herself. i don’t think she could’ve pumped herself with fillers AND participated in the photoshoot with recent stuff done. 

also, to the person that posted about irene predebut, the picture in the last spoiler is edited from her debut teasers.. i’m sure it was done by the fans that push her all-natural agenda.

i’m not someone that’s super familiar with plastic surgery terms but seeing her old pictures there’s an obvious change to her nose, eyes and cheeks. she most likely deepened her crease and cut into the inner part of the eye, sometimes it looks like the skin is pinched super tight and the corner almost perfectly looks like a knife slice. i think that she likes to play with eyelid tape too, since sometimes it looks extremely deep. the nose tip is definitely different and the bridge might be different too but since she doesn’t… really share old pictures except for the ones that were leaked we might never find out. her cheek area and cheekbones before joining sm were rounder as seen in her picture with the beanie and one of her first profile pictures as smrookie show her face extremely slimmed down, so something could be at play there  

the reason she looks so different and weird around the eyes is because she’s wearing the big, dark ulzzang lenses so it gives her a more innocent look. seeing as how apparently in the pictures she’s 18 and in around 2008 it was a BIG fashion move back then lol.

It's interesting because out of all idols she has one of the largest number of predebut pics I've ever seen, but they're all post-surgery from her instagram ulzzang days. She must have had surgery very young, in middle school, before joining SM and then had more work done after she joined. I think her initial surgery made her look absolutely amazing, just some subtle eye and nose work I think, but then SM made her mess with her jaw and now she looks uncanny

i’m not sure since the angles and expressions are different but does the eyelid surgery also make the eyes bigger? or can we count something like corner cutting as well? since itzyclub’s pictures have her looking down and other in the sun i can’t tell what the actual size of her old eyes was. 

tbh she looked fine with just the eyes and nose but i guess also kinda forgettable, so that’s why sm probably greenlighted the jaw surgery too. as long as she’s happy and she doesn’t suddenly lose control of her jaw then to each their own, hopefully she’s done with everything now. 

the only think that irks me is that they’re using it to criticize her, as if south korea didn’t normalize giving middle schoolers vouchers for plastic surgery as graduation gifts. people wouldn’t be making such a fuzz if this was a middle-tier idol.

her face looks lopsided, almost as if it was done on one of these face-swapping apps but i think it’s mostly because she’s turned and angled? in the first second it looks like the top of her head is bigger than the rest but when the camera moves a bit it looks more normal.  could it be the lenses of the camera? it’s giving fisheye and it’s throwing her whole face off balance.

+ i looked at more photos, i know puberty can change a person's appearance a bunch, but i didn't realize how much of a transformation wonyoung has gone thru! she's always been so beautiful, but she's glowing nowadays!

wonyoung’s changes revolve around her nose tip, i believe it’s been her complex for a very long time. some of you might not have noticed, but she tends to use the nose tool from the snow app quite a lot and if you want a clear proof then you can check her instagram post from october 3rd. she has a slightly hooked and kinda pinched? nose tip that’s usually blurred or smoothed during some editing, they don’t always do it the same so it varies but when it’s done well it definitely looks natural. 

regarding the face weight, i think it’s probably going to be more about how her face and her cheeks are settling as she grows up, from a visual opinion, aren’t cheek procedures usually done to remove them? i don’t see why wonyoung would want to use fillers. 

as much as i like wonyoung, i can say it’s only a matter of time before she does something more permanent especially to her nose area and lip-fillers and it’s sad that this is something she’s going through so young.

the popular plastic surgeon on tik tok just uploaded a video on jang wonyoung’s surgeries and he says: double eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, lip fillers, chin shaving and possible bucal fat. taking in mind, he’s using official processed pictures to point out “procedures” such as the chin shaving and a supposed nose implant because there’s a sharp point in her nose. he’s saying she brought her chin out with plates and screws. 

putting aside the fact that he annoys me to no end because he has this little joke where he “confuses” every idol with jennie, how much can we trust this? as i said every picture where he’s pointing out surgeries are from official updates and makeup where her features could’ve been easily modified  

other than the known fact that wonyoung contours the hell out of the tip of her nose, could she had been out of the public eye enough to recover from whatever chin procedure involves screws?

jake’s nose is so confusing to me - i haven’t seen a predebut picture that could show another natural nose (even then i don’t think he has much going around) but his nose is so… perfectly pointed? my guess is that he’s done nothing to the actual size but just the height and curve, the little skin tip that goes down to connect with the mouth is also very thick? i guess could be the word. is that something like a filler or an implant? i’m on mobile and can’t post a picture with a little google of his side profile could show it.

it feels like half of the enhypen members have the same nose.

I was watching a Lorry Hill video about Kendall Jenner and she expressed that Kendall might have gotten that procedure even though she started out fairly skinny already. Now I know a lot of idols who were criticized before and then had a "glow up" after losing weight, mostly women because of the double standards as usual, so it made me wonder how many of these cases just get passed up. Liposuction could also target specific places such as the waist, thighs, calves, arms, etc to achieve a certain look, so even already skinny idols could get it done if they have "stubborn areas" where they can't lose fat. This might be true for those who initially have a straighter waist but then suddenly look "carved in" but were already skinny to begin with. Yuna comes to mind here. Even if you cover her hip area, the top of her waist dips in more now.

However, to be fair, Yuna was also very young when she debuted so it might just be her shedding baby fat and growing into her body more.

The ones at the top of my head that netizens praise for losing weight  though are Red Velvet's Joy, Gfriend's Umji, Twice's Jihyo, and Aespa's Ningning and Giselle. 

Joy - bodyshamed until Dumb Dumb (September 2015), dropped weight in One of These Nights (March 2016). Mostly maintained her weight with minimal gain or loss occasionally. 

Umji - maintained weight until Navillera (July 2016), pulled out of promotions in October for the rest of the year because of an injury, lost weight in Fingertip (March 2017), gained back the weight, lost weight again in April 2018 along with plastic surgery rumors (would love to hear what you guys think about this too). I think it's also worth mentioning that she initially struggled to lose weight too. 

Jihyo - kept her sixteen weight until debut, lost weight during Cheer Up (April 2016), but she put on her debut weight again around July/August (?) of the same year, lost the weight again for TT (October 2016). Mostly gradual weight loss since then.

Ningning and Giselle - both started getting compliments about looking different because of weight loss since Next Level (May 2021). This continued on more until Savage (October 2021) and the year end awards. Personally however, I think their faces slimmed down a lot – and they may have genuinely lost weight too – but I find it harder to see a big difference in their bodies. I think the issue was with their clothes and general styling in most of black mamba.

Not saying that I think all of the ones mentioned in this post got the procedure done – I know there are other methods of losing weight such as the ever so popular diet and workout. I'm just curious about what your thoughts might be on whether or not these cases might be the result of lipo (or are there others in the industry rumored to have gotten it done?).

CoolSculpting is another procedure that may achieve similar but less dramatic results as liposuction. This procedure freezes up fat cells instead of sucking them out, so it could very well look like normal weight loss.

Both CoolSculpting and liposuction have target areas, it's not a one suck all. There is also a limit of how much fat doctors can eliminate which varies for each patient and typically affects how many areas can be treated in one session. So, I would say the more evenly distributed the weight loss is throughout the different parts of the body (face, neck, back, arms, legs, abdomen), the higher the possibility that the weight loss is natural.
Moreover, just like other procedures, liposuction causes swelling too. I'd say the settling process is about the same as a rhinoplasty, most swelling will go down around 1-6 months, and the very little and mostly unnoticeable swelling left will continue to settle for up to a year. I would assume idols who have done the procedure may go back to dance practice in the six week mark since that's normally when strenuous exercise would be allowed. 

I think it's pretty hard to determine whether or not someone got liposuction and I'm no expert, but for now my basis is checking if they still have the same body type and if the weight loss is mostly consistent. By this I mean that there are no structural changes in shape for certain body parts while the rest look the same. Some examples would be a sudden loss of fat in the upper inner and outer thighs while the calves look the same, the carved in waist in an initially straighter body mentioned earlier, a sharper face/disappearance of double chin with little to no general weightloss (this could be affected by other factors aside from liposuction as well, however), etc. Basically losing fat in only one area or changing the natural distribution of fat there. No matter how much you focus exercising only on that specific body part, it still isn't quite possible to isolate weight loss in that area alone and most scientific studies would agree. Gaining muscle? Sure. Losing fat and reshaping said distribution of fat there? Nope. Another thing I'd probably take into consideration is the timeline mentioned earlier. If someone is going back to hardcore dancing in a month or so, it probably isn't liposuction (though it may be CoolSculpting). Also, treated areas normally don't gain back fat easily even when the person gains weight again, unless they gained an excessive amount. That's also something to look out for I guess. 

Again, most of the women I mentioned here are just the ones I could recall getting complimented for losing weight, not because I automatically think they did lipo. I mostly just listed them down to hear what you guys think. As of now though, my thoughts would be... Waist for Yuna, Joy probably natural (same body type, thighs still store fat the same way), Ningning and Giselle I initially considered something in the face because their bodies genuinely don't look that different to me, but I'm still leaning more towards other factors (such as previous procedures settling/getting even more procedures done, avoiding food that can make their faces bloated or perhaps maybe even coolsculpting – I just don't feel like their faces are a result of liposuction in general). Jihyo and Umji, I haven't gotten the chance to properly look at yet And as usual, I could be wrong with all of these. I'm no expert and I'm ready to be corrected lol

A bit of a side note though, I think Ningning's neck to shoulder/collarbone area is awesome and plays a huge part on how she looks. I've noticed they only really start showing it properly since Next Level but it was mostly obscured in Black Mamba, which might explain why people think she's lost a lot of weight? Most of the fits they gave her then seemed a bit unflattering (tbh everyone's styling there was whack except for Winter and ig Karina occasionally if her tops weren't ill fitting). Having mentioned this, I do feel like there are times when Ningning looks a bit too dainty in that area now in comparison to before, so I'm considering the possibility of a trapezius botox? I'll try to look into this more in the future. Perhaps it could also just be the pose and editing. 

 

accidentally refreshed and lost my comment but too long, didn’t read-esque: i believe yuna’s waist is a combination of targeted exercise + right outfits. she’s always been skinny but in her before pictures you can see that her middle is soft, during her debut i believe she probably wasn’t going through hard exercise yet. however for the after, easily obtained for her if she settled for an exercise routine, my guess would be pilates because every female idol is into it (actually a great and gentle way to maintain shape) with mostly core exercises, i see a faint line that wasn’t there in earlier years. also we have to take in mind that the baggy pants help with the illusion of the wider hips, even in the mafia outfit picture she has accessories on the hip. in other pictures where she’s standing straight and relaxed during the mafia era, you can see a more similar shape to her usual shape… she’s just working her abdomen.

i think the eye makeup is killing the look, somehow it looks like a failed aegyo sal and the color makes it seem like she has irritated eyes lol. i think she’s too caked up on weird foundation too.
