Is BTS Taehyung's nose really natural? he seems to have the characteristic scar on his septum

Omg I noticed this as well in the picture he posted on Twitter today. Actually imo, Taehyungs face changed sometime around DNA era. Most people say its just puberty and styling (and it might just be that) but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did make his nose a bit thinner/make the tip less bulbous.

wait a minute. people said his nose changed recently because of puberty...? during DNA era he was what, 22? if hes still going through puberty then theres a big problem lmao

Yeah lol. I mean, peoples faces can still mature/change a bit in their early 20s and later too, but most fans use the “he just grew/matured†card to deny the possibilty that their fave got something done. I see this a lot among BTS fans...

Yeah, I mean most of BTS’s surgeries are pretty subtle.  But imo they all have some work done. Imo Jimin has done his eye corners, nose tip (he didnt change the bridge though!) and also some kind of jaw sculpting. (with fillers for example). He definitely looks different now than he did in Dope or Fire era. (and before that)

^^^I mean, that picture is at a very bad angle, has harsh lighting and he is probably also moving his mouth, so probably not the best pic to analyse.

But tbh I have wondered about Jimin quite a bit too, on one hand his face has changed a lot since their early days, on the other hand he has no glaringly obvious changes (eg deep double eyelids or a new pointy ski-slope nose).

Personally I think he has gotten something done on his eyes (not double eyelid, but some other type of blepharoplasty to open up his eyes more),  nose tip surgery (his bridge still has a slight bump most of the time, but the tip of his nose is def smaller and pointier) + occasional filler on the nose bridge. The rest is filler I think... which sadly sometimes looks a bit overdone/puffy. Jimin has always had chubby cheeks, but since around 2018 I feel like his cheeks have gotten horizontally wider. His jaw also.

I'll be honest though, Jimin is starting to look a bit effeminate in a way that men who get procedures sometimes do. Maybe that's just his vibe but I have noticed that for a while now. Idk BTS very well at all though so maybe that's his 'role' in his group, can someone clarify?

Ehh, It's more his styling and posing for the camera that give off this vibe tbh. From debut up until like 2015/early 2016 Jimin had more of a hot dude bro kind of image. (eg he showed off his muscles and took lip bite selfies) But ever since Wings era he has gone for a more dainty/elegant/cute  look. Now he does puckered kissy lips in selfies and he wears more pastel colors and dainty jewelery + the filters on his selfies add to the look)

But his cheeks definitely are a bit of a mystery to me.. I notice he is always more puffy during award show season and less so when I look at content that is filmed during the summertime/in between major events or comebacks. But still, he always worried about his face being too fat, so idk why he does so much filler. I assume it's because at first, new filler can look sharp and defining (but later turns puffy and saggy) and he is just trying to keep up that new filler look and not noticing how it accumulates over time.

Spoiler

I feel like Jimins natural body type is somewhere in between his bulkiest and thinnest. I think he looks pretty good rn. Maybe he had somewhat of an exercise addiction in their earlier days and had to have super visible abs because of his more tough guy image. (he has mentioned multiple times that he wasn't 100% condfident with the image the company wanted him to have back then.) In 2016-2017 he lost a lot of weight and was very thin at one point. I feel like he has gained some weight back, but I think he just doesn't focus on lifting as much as some of the other members. He mentioned in a Vlive and the Vogue interview that he enjoys running as an exercise, which doesn't bulk you up a lot. And sadly sometimes it still sounds like he restricts his food. (I mean pretty much every other idol does too, but he mentions "wanting to lose weight" the most out of the bts members)

I'm sure some had surgery at some point possible pre-debut but now it would be obvious. The thing I've noticed about 4th gen idols is that companies aren't even trying to be subtle about it anymore (see Hybe, SM, Starship's latest GG). It makes me worry for someone like Na Haeun who has been in the public eye as a dancer literally since she was in pre-school and was just signed as an SM trainee (at age 13). The next time we see her debuting in SM's next girl group, half her jaw might be gone like Karina, and people online will deny it ever happened or say she "grew" into her face, or some other excuse.

Agree so much with this. While debuting the youngest member at 13-14 and having plastic surgery has always been a thing in kpop, there is something unsettling about 4th gen, where we have idols like Wonyoung who debut at 14 and by the time they are 17, already have multiple surgeries and a bunch of filler. In previoius generation, if the idol got something done predebut, it was mostly eyelids, nose and teeth (veneers/crowns) and maybe some chin/jaw work if you were from SM. Most idols also didn't get much done the first 2-3 years of being active, like for example I think Twice members pretty much looked the same from 2015-2017/early 2018 and only started getting more fillers and stuff in the last 2-3 years. Same with BTS, Blackpink and other 3rd gen groups. Now there is so much pressure for teenage idols to already have perfectly matured visuals and look perfect from debut. It's not normal to expect 15 year olds to look 25. And by the time they are actually 25 they might look pretty uncanny. It's pretty worrying and tbh something that kind of turns me off 4th gen kpop. (ofc it's not really the individual idols fault, but just in general how the induustry expects it and companies are not even subtle about it).

Honestly, looking at that huge comparison pic, Taehyung baffles me the most. (even more so because he is praised for being one of the most natural idols by some people) His current face shape is nothing like in 2014. I know faces change and mature into your 20s, but I think its quite a big change. Idk, did he get a jaw implant, or does his face look wider just because his nose has gotten smaller?

Jimins face is also a lot wider nowadays, but in his case its too much filler I think. Surprisingly, I think Jhope looks really good in the newest pic and his look has stayed consistent throughout the years, even though he had the most obvious PS early on (his OG hybbe ski-slope nose).

Is it becoming more trendy to have a curvaceous body in Korea? I still see slender being the norm, but actresses have a different audience than influencers.

Kinda late reply, but I wanted to add to this. Yes, I do think curvier bodies are becoming more trendy in Korea.  Not in the super thicc Kardashian way like in the west, but I follow many kfashion accounts/models, and pretty much all of them have super round curvy hips (most are probably photoshopped, but maybe some are natural), along with a tiny waist and super skinny arms and legs of course. On Youtube I have seen lots of korean exercise videos about getting rid of hip dips and getting a round butt. Idols also seem to wear more hip pads now, on stages all girls seem to have perfect skinny, but hourglass bodies. But then when you see them in casual clothes they have a more straight figure. (have seen this on weekly idol). So yeah, I think having a dramatic waist to hip ratio and no hip dips is part of the beauty standard now. Ofc its dumb, because most of it is determined by bone structure. I do wonder what procedures koreans have for hip dips tho, I don't think BBL-s are very popular there. Idk, maybe filler or more conservative fat grafting?

THIS!!! Which is why it’s kinda refreshing to see aespa stylists just show off their natural bodies. I mean many idols with the same body shape as ningning and giselle would wear hip pads with those outfits.

and also, they’re not afraid to show off those small “flabs” when their waist are being cinched in

but despite them showing off their natural shapes, they still face many bodyshames from i-netz and k-netz (except winter and somewhat karina)

i also have recently heard that some knetz are calling Karina fat, and also people on edtwt shame all 3 of aespa members aside winter.

also skinny BBLs are definitely a thing

I agree, I do think its nice how Aespa is treated pretty equally with their outfits and they don't try to hide their bodies much. Sadly other groups stylist sometimes do this. If a member has a sliiightly wider waist or bigger legs then they tend to get ugly shapeless outfits. The most obvious example is Twice Jeongyeon but I have also noticed this with STAYC's Seeun.

Honestly, as an older Army, there was way more talk and concern for BTS's eating habits a few years ago. People were really upset with Jimins diet, Yoongi was also scarily thin during their earlier years and fans were concerned. Now it seems like newer Armys think that since BTS is a senior group they don't have such strict diets anymore and everything is well. While it might be true that their managers don't control their diets super strictly anymore, some of the members still display signs of disordered eating/body image issues. Jungkook seems to be dieting a lot in recently. Jimin is still very critical of his weight, he still posts things like "oh I can't do a vlive right now, my face looks fat, I need to lose weight first." Its sad that no matter how succesful these idols become, the effects of this toxic diet culture stick around for a long time.

Yunas hips also baffle me. I say this as someone who has a similar body/hip shape as debut era Yuna. She had high set square shaped hips. Looking at group pictures, she had a thicker/straighter waist than Ryujin and Lia, who have more Pear/Hourglass bodies. She looked like that until around MITM era, then she lost weight and people commented on her small waist, but her hips weren't much bigger. Then suddenly sometime last year her hips got rounder and bigger.

As I said, I have a similar body shape and I can tell that weight gain doesn't really change that shape, the hip bones still have a square shape underneath and weight gain will make the waist wider too, as the distance between the ribs and hip bones is quite short when you have high-set hip bones. (some of the weight goes to the thighs too, but again that doesn't really make your hips rounder). Idk maybe Yuna got super lucky that she gains weight in a very specific way that makes her hips rounder, but I doubt it. I think she got some kind of contouring/lipo done on her waist and then fat transfer/fillers on her hips.

I mean I have heard dentists say that uneven teeth result in uneven stress/pressure when chewing and that can lead to teeth wearing down faster and TMJ problems, so most of them recommend fixing bunny teeth/snaggle teeth/overbites. But there are more subtle ways, like braces or invisalign, or simply smaller veneers. Nayeons teeth do look unnatural now 😞

has jimin been looking different to anyone else recently? i keep seeing pics of him during this solo debut period and something looks different to me, can't tell if it's just weight loss or something more

Hmm, maybe its just me or maybe its just the haircut (dark with straight bangs) but I actually feel like Jimin looks more like in his early days (2014-2016 ish) now. I found his face to be kinda bloated and overfilled looking from in 2019-2021. He def has gotten work done over the years tho. (nose job, eye corners, cheek and chin filler, maybe also buccal fat removal/some kind of cheek lifting procedure would be my guesses)
