I'm not denying any possible plastic surgery rumors from some idols posted here, but it's hard to compare a picture of them from when they were younger to a picture of them now and call it valid evidence (unless there's a severe change in like, jaw structure or something that's clearly different). When you go from a child to a teenager and then to an adult, things change a lot in your face. It's not always plastic surgery.

 

For example...

 

Leonardo Dicaprio looks different than he used to back in his Titanic days.

 

 

 

Granted, the age gap is bigger than the idols being discussed here but I think my point gets across? ;;

Anyway what do people think of shows like Let Beauty?

 

 

I haven't really watched the episodes but I remember reading about it on NB and while some of them it seemed to be handled well others left me a bit uncomfortable. Like the wife who was having surgery because her husband was a douche

 

I love this show. It's really interesting but some of the stories are so sad.

 

I don't think there's anything wrong with plastic surgery either. If you want it, then do it. It only becomes a problem if you're getting to the point where it's physically causing you damage or you're starting to look deformed due to excessive procedures...

Your Leonardo Dicaprio example is the perfect example of why many idols get jaw shaving. Some are harder to identify but if you look closely and it at different angles. Your example proves my point perfectly. Your jaw will get squarer and broader as you age, it will not magically turn into a v-line and get smaller and slimmer. Also your nose will always get bigger and flatter, not small and more up-right.

 

To sum up my answer. Your features always get broader, sharper and more angular as you age and not smaller, slimmer, and up-right. Most of the time you cannot blame "puberty" as an excuse for why an idol did not get ps.

 

The natural aging process is definitely a factor of why some idols get jaw shaving procedures too.

 

Basically, if their jaw gets smaller as they get older then they've most likely had something done. But if it hasn't/stays similar/gets slightly bigger/has more bone structure then they might not have had anything... I was trying to say that using child/teenager vs adult pictures aren't as good of a source. ^^

  I think that has more to do with the condition of your skin as you age. For Leo his jaw didn't get bigger he has looser skin, so it hangs down making it look bigger

 

This clip shows a women whose nose an jaw didn't change, but as she aged and her skin wasn't as tight as she was when she was younger hung down making her face look bigger

 

 

Women and men age slightly differently. Leo's jaw definitely matured/became more square. It's not just his skin... lol.

I agree, I think as long as the person wants to do it, is well informed and it's done safely then I don't see what's wrong. The only time I think it's a problem is when people feel pressured into it or when there are other underlying issues that are ignored.

 

Btw is there a minimum age for PS in korea? How do people feel about people in high school getting plastic surgery? Or parents encouraging their kids to have it and offering it as birthday gifts and such?

 

From what I hear a lot of people feel pressured in getting plastic surgery, so they can improve their chances of getting a job. So if even the average Korean feels that pressure, it must be 10 times worse for idols who are in the public all the time and have to hear people judging them on their looks continuously.  

 

Yes, being pressured into plastic surgery is a common thing among Korea. Parents often buy their children procedures as graduation gifts. It's not uncommon to have it at a young age.

 

Idols have the pressure more than anyone else because the public is always watching them and some are going to pick at any "flaw" they can find. That's why it bothers me when people give idols a hard time for getting plastic surgery. On one hand, people will say, "omg she's/he's ugly" but then on the other hand, they'll go, "wow plastic monster" and it's like... ???????????? ;;

 

It's like, you try living that type of life and see how you feel...

I haven't found any subbed episodes of it, but the episodes are on Youtube. A lot of the clips uploaded on Youtube are just the last part of the episode where you see the before and afters.

  i beg to differ, this man's jaw has stayed the same for 12 years, the only difference was that as he aged he gained weight thus his face appeared wider. 

 

Leo has always had a square jaw

 

he just gained weight and now the weight makes his skin sag a little

 

Of course not everyone is the same and there will be exceptions, but I personally know people that have more square jaws now than they did when they were younger...

 

It's not really something that can be argued imo. Hormones and puberty are going to change your face. ;;;;;

 

As for Leo... his face got fuller as he got older and again, I really don't think it's just his skin.

  i am sorry I don't see the difference in pics except that the later pic his face is fuller but not nearly as tight looking. His face looks aged hense why i don't think its "maturity" its weight gain. I could be wrong but I don't think people's faces mature after the age of 25 when they should have stopped growing.

 

Exactly. He was 22 during the Titanic. I was comparing from the Titanic to more recent pictures~

So other than double eyelid surgery, what are other popular procedures? I remember there was an article on popular procedures.
