Official Plastic Surgery Thread

Hi~ I'm korean and i know a lot of people that have had plastic surgery so my thoughts/what i know about it...

  • When korean people get older a lot of the time their face loses fat and they get double eyelids.  I dont think this applies to idols because it happens like in your mid-thirties.  (i.e both my parents have double eyelids now, but they didn't have them as a kid and none of my siblings and i have double eyelids, so i wouldn't look at parent's eyes to see genetics.)
  • My dad said that it is almost genetically almost impossible to for korean people to have a high nose bridge.  Like he said it wasn't in the korean gene and if someone has a tall nose bridge then they have to be mixed somewhere in their family line.  All of my korean friends don't have tall noses including me.  I don't really believe him because i have seen it in guys (more so than girls)
  • If you get double eye surgery at a young age, when you get older it looks really weird.  My grandaunt(?) got it done when she was younger and her eyes look really weird right now.
  • Jaw-shaving is so popular and common now and some girls just photoshop their faces and bring it into the ps clinic to see if the doctor can replicate it.
  • Idk about implants or injections
  • Both of my cousins that live in Korea got double eyelid surgery for their graduation gift i think. It was really cheap, and almost their whole graduating class got it done.

btw I want to be a plastic surgeon when i grow up, so i enjoy reading about this. lol don't judge me

Thx for calmly discussing this topic. ^^

I wonder what the most dangerous/painful surgery is or one that is most like to go wrong.

Isn't it the jaw-shave.  Surgeon's are literally shaving bone right? So much room for infection and there were apparently reports of facial numbness. A lot of opportunity to cut through a facial nerve or get a bone infection.  It sounds so scary.
