‘UNPRETTY RAPSTAR 2″ FIESTAR YEZI, MORE PRESENCE THAN AN IDOL

 

 

Group Fiestar’s Yezi is prominent as “Unpretty Rapstar 2″‘s dark horse.

 

Last week on the episode of Mnet’s female rapper survival program “Unpretty Rapstar 2″ that aired on the 9th, a 1 to 1 diss battle took place. There were idol group members Wonder Girls’ Yubin, Sistar’s Hyorin, talented rappers Truedy and Gilme, less willing to diss each other KittiB and Heize, etc. But the most impressive diss battle was between Yezi and YG trainee Sua.

 

This day Yezi properly showed the skills that she had only shown briefly previously. Her opponent was Sua who is receiving attention for being a YG trainee. For those who don’t know Sua’s rap well, she uses ordinary punchlines and dissed Yezi with her “I’m young, but I’m good†mentality. This was an obvious point to diss Yezi with. Yezi is in a group called Fiestar that is still unknown and participated in “Unpretty Rapstar 2″ to gain recognition, and Sua’s future is bright because she’s at YG.

 

However, Yezi’s rap was more invigorating. Yezi said to Sua “Remove the YG label, then comeâ€, “Why were you nursed (by YG) for 6 yearsâ€, “You’re only good enough for YG’s basement†and powered over Sua with the punchline “You’re a fried egg acting like an F cup, I’ll scramble you, Can I tryâ€. Due to Yezi’s rouch rap, Sua made the mistake of forgetting her lyrics as she attempted to deliver her second diss and never had the chance to get it out of her mouth. This was Yezi’s flawless victory.

 

 

The uncensored 19+ adult edit of Yezi and Sua’s battle was posted online, proving that Yezi’s raps are for adults only. Even so, the battle has reached over 300k views (on Naver), proving that there is a great deal of interest.

 

While Yezi’s place in “Unpretty Rapstar 2″ isn’t completely set, she is gaining high praises for skills in her “Crazy Dog†performance. This time the focus was on her skills again in her diss battle with Sua. The beneficiary of “Unpretty Rapstar 1″ was AOA’s Jimin and many people are guessing that Yezi will be the beneficiary of “Unpretty Rapstar 2″.

 

One industry insider said “There’s been more interest in Unpretty Rapstar 2 in the wake of Yezi’s emergence†and “Unlike AOA’s Jimin, Wonder Girls’ Yubin, Sistar’s Hyorin, and the recently popular 4minute’s Jeon Jiyoon, Yezi didn’t get the advantage

of being known from being “‘from an idol group’. From this diss battle going forward, Yezi only has room to improve. Following ‘Crazy Dog’ and and the diss battle with Sua, I suggest that she continue to show her unparalleled rap skills.â€

What do you guys think about Yezi's recent performance with dok2 team? I think all of them were underwhelming :( maybe because I had a really high expectation for Yezi lol. I'm afraid dok2 would think her presence is too idol-like like Jessi did (she's really aware of camera and seems rehearsed/too polished). She also shouted while rapping, I still like it and think she did a great job hyping the crowd but some people might think she looked over excited xD

 

She also had a lot of screentime from that performance I have a good feeling that she might be at top 2 and maybe compete for final diss battle a la cheetah/jimin and jessi/kisum did.

I agree with you tbh, the whole performance was a mess I don't think being aware of the camera is a bad thing but it did feel like it she rehearsed those moves and I cringed when she shouted.

Idk maybe because she's idol it looks like inkigayo perf but she's getting better than that screening interview with mnet, if she was like that on uprs she would be edited as lil cham 2.0

 

I think it's her worse perf in the show, I don't even remember her rehearsal with Jessi because I only watched it once. But compared to other I think she still have a chance. I predict it would be truedy vs yezi next, or sua vs yezi.

Actually she did. Their hands clashed (probably accidently). Yezi felt it and I think that's why she pushed Truedy aside.

Yeah probably Truedy didn't touch her by purpose but the editing for Yezi looks so dramatic with the bollywood kind of bgm those Mnet people forget there's physical contacts on Cheetah and Jimin battle where Cheetah turned her back on Jimin and then Jimin turned Cheetah around by her shoulder. Or Andup/Microdot and Mino/Blacknut diss battle that look like they were going to fight. But Mnet made Yezi so evil esp with the comments and expression from other rappers

 

I'm glad viewers didn't buy their editing tho it wasn't that serious my problem is that whenever I want to replay the clip because I like Yezi's rhyming there I need to fast forward those editing, is there full version somewhere?

FIESTAR's Yezi Might Have a Solo Debut Before Year End

 

FIESTAR’s maknae Yezi is currently a contestant on Mnet’s “Unpretty Rapstar 2,†and no matter the final result, she is shaping up to benefit hugely from the show.

 

At the beginning of the season, she was judged as a “four-dimensional†rapper and had trouble adjusting. It wasn’t until the September 25 broadcast that she proved her talent with “Crazy Dog†and became a contender to watch out for.

 

Her popularity has even won her some offers from the advertising world. A representative from Yezi’s agency, Loen Tree, says, “She has received an offer for a cell phone commercial that only top stars get to film. We had to refuse for various reasons but we are happy that advertisers are seeing Yezi’s potential.â€

 

The agency also reveals that Yezi’s sudden popularity may have secured her a solo debut before the end of the year. “We don’t know yet what form her solo debut will take,†the representative says. “We hope to show more of her talent and leave a lasting impression on people.â€

 

They also go on to say that if Yezi has a solo debut this year, FIESTAR will likely come back with a new song next year.

 

The girl group debuted with “VISTA†in 2012. Last March, they released their album “Black Label†and promoted title track “You’re Pitiful.â€

I've been a Yezi stan since she first debuted in Fiestar and must I say, I love her with all my heart. The firs time I saw her was when Fiestar debuted in 2012 with Vista and she was the first to sing in that song so I was already fucking taken with her. then I realized later in the song that she was the rapper and holy fuck, that girl can rap. TigerJK himself praised her. She's a monster, killer rapper and she can dance her ass off. Sexy as hell, even a gay man would want a taste of her I swear. When I found out she was going to be on UPRS I was fucking pumped. I instantly thought "My bae is going to kill it." and I wasn't wrong. Though it was a weird start due to the editing the random hate she was receiving based on her resting bitch face, I always stood by my baby. Then that mishap with the live voting happened which was totally bullshit. anyone with eyes and ears could see who the superior rapper was out of Yubin Sua and Yezi. She fucking killed it yet somehow due to bias she was sent down to the bottom three. Wasn't even saved by the judges. I think even Yezi knew she didn't belong there. there wasn't a doubt in my mind that Yezi was going to kill it and show her true talent. She did it all herself and thanked herself which made me fall for her even more. She didn't need anybody's help. My hero Crazy Dog<3

Maybe Yezi and Yubin would perform Wild Boy again in the concert with Sua but a new song for just 2 of them would be great.

Also guys, everytime I search Yezi on search engine here on onehallyu, T's thread keep on popping. I don't really want to click on it because there seems to be bashing/arguments about Yezi and I don't really like reading it.
