On the next episode of TV Asahi’s Kanjani no Shiwake ∞, SCANDAL’s RINA will be guest appearing! Previously, SCANDAL has also appeared on this programme before, but the spotlight is usually mainly on RINA as the show has this Taiko (Japanese drum) segment.RINA will be appearing with other artists in this “Taiko no Tatsujin†drumming segment, including Shishido Kavka, Saori (SEKAI NO OWAI), MAIKO (7!!) and more! Who will be the one with the strongest “drumming sense?. “Kanjani no Shiwake ∞†will broadcast next Saturday from 6:56PM (JST) onwards. Rina has got strong competitors but this should be fun :D

Aired late yesterday night (17 May), here is SCANDAL’s very first guest appearance on MUSIC DRAGON~!

SCANDAL talked about their trip to Las Vegas in America, their very first holiday trip as a band overseas that doesn’t involve working (although it’s really a company trip with the staff and all too).The hosts were really funny, going, “A relaxation company trip to Las Vegas?!†Haruna then also described her sky jump experience, where you jump from 280m above the ground. The hosts demanded for a video, but Haruna unfortunately did not even wear a tiny camera on her. XD SCANDAL then requested to do an illusion challenge with Takatoshi (the hosting duo), under quick training with a professional magician. Haruna went first with an magical cloth challenge. Following then, the Dobon Dobon duo aka Tomomi and Mami also did brought on a dangerous ‘cutting-magic’ performance.

It's good to watch Scandal attending more of these kind of variety shows, I always had the feeling they were the quiet type on tv, but they have a lot to show. But Rina and Haruna are always more talkative than Tomomi and Mami.

On this talk session, the girls chatted about living in Tokyo! The question was “Tell us about it was like living in Tokyo the first timeâ€. SCANDAL, for the first 2 years of living together in Tokyo, crashed together in a house. It was a 2-storey place, and Haruna’s room alone was on the first storey whilst everyone else’s was on the second floor. There was also a rooftop/attic to the place. Haruna’s room was a typical Japanese-style room. Yet somehow or rather when she slept, there would be a “dong dong’ sound, like someone was walking/stamping around, coming from above, which often bothered her. All along, she also thought that it’s from Tomomi, since Tomomi’s room was above hers, but the sound also happened even when Tomomi is out at night. However, when Haruna came out to take a look, she didn’t see anything. Rina confirms that it’s a ghost for sure. She describes that it’s a small boy wearing knee-length short pants that is at the entrance, where it is right above Haruna’s room, but which Tomomi’s room does not extend up till. When everyone came to realize this, they all went outside the house at one time during broad daylight and started to cry. They were all scared, but the only one who saw it was Rina.

The girls also bought some offerings from a convenience store for the ghost. But this past experience of living together felt like there were 5 people crashing instead.

The artists performing at this year’s SUMMER SONIC 2013 have just been released, and SCANDAL will be part of the impressive line-up! Summer Sonic is an annual music festival held in Japan, and is one of the biggest around, boasting not just Japanese artists but Western artists as well.

To happen simultaneously on 10 & 11 August, SCANDAL will be performing live at both the Tokyo and Osaka shows.

• QVC MARINE FIELD & MAKUHARI MESSE @ Chiba Prefecture (11 Aug): BEACH STAGE w/ Hata Motohiro, the pillows, and more

• MAISHIMA ARENA @ Osaka (10 Aug): MOUNTAIN STAGE w/ Cindy Lauper, Carly Rae Jepson, HOT CHELLE RAE, and more.

Other exciting artists that will be performing on various stages include the GazettE, ONE OK ROCK, Linkin Park, FALL OUT BOY, MUSE, F.T. Island, METALLICA and more.General tickets for the event will begin on 25 May @ 10AM (JST) onwards. Persons under the age of 18 may not enter. The organizers are currently also determining how to handle tickets for overseas goers outside of Japan.

That was great. Usually you don't hear much of the bass in these recordings. This pretty raw take was nice for a change.
