The '2015 Korea Drama Awards' has been filled with controversy what with people protesting Kim Soo Hyun's Daesang (Grand Prize) win and finding fault with Chanyeol's speech after he received the Rookie Male Award.

 

He had stated regarding the production that led to his win, 'EXO Next Door,' "Every scene seemed like a masterpiece, but there's a scene in which Suho steps on a water bottle I dropped and falls over.  That scene was a delight, so it still remains in my memory."

 

As this part of his speech proved problematic to the listeners, he further explained what he meant through Instagram on October 9.  He first relayed more thoughts on his win: "Today I received two awards.  I think of the awards I received today to mean I should work even harder as I represent the members, so I will show you a good image in the future.  I thank the EXO-L's who always give me love and everybody else."

 

He then elaborated, "Today, when I talked about Suho, he and I always laugh a lot when watching that scene; I did not mean that it was delightful but that it was the scene I think of the most.  I apologize to people who must have been hurt by it."

 

Do you think people were overreacting to his speech about Suho or do you think he should have phrased it more carefully?

He should have worded it better - what he said was open to misunderstandings. Should have either not said it or explained it properly - he was probably nervous and didn't get too wrap it up properly but whatever. 


The controversy should be about him winning, not his speech...

I want to know that myself! lol I think if the post is too long, like with many gifs, it will merge but I´m not too sure... Sometimes it merges, sometimes it doesnt...

He won no use crying over spilt milk..hey i think kasper shouldn't have been saved my zico in UPR S2 that yezi was definitely better than her..but.. lol Kasper got saved no use crying over it it is what it is just like the whole kim soo hyun controversy shet

I think fans cannot enjoy comments regarding Suho made by Chanyeol,  because of Chanyeol's past remarks. It would have been seen as a funny comment if another member would have said that. Because Chanyeol used to mock/laugh about Suho, fans are oversensitive and they first think if Chanyeol has some second thoughts.

he dissed Suho's lack of popularity on broadcast ...he laughed about him. Putting down Suho was low, not funny.

 

This time he was probably well intended, but I understand if some were circumspect about his real intentions and though he wants to laugh again about Suho.

Exactly! In fact i think this is nothing but a new thing fans(?) will add to the chanyeol bullying suho rumor lol
