Mnet ruined UPSR and there is no way they can salvage it tbvh. season one was the perfect recipe for success. They had a fierce completely unknown new face (cheetah) that stole everyone's attention with her unique style and feel. They had a bit of well played out drama thanks to Jessi and Tymee vs Jolly V. They had a cute sisterhood with Cheetah and Kisum. Iconic comic relief thanks to Lil Cham, a token idol, a through the roof hit track (My Type, and I guess Puss too no matter how much I hate it), and Jessi's attitude. And the girl's became legit close for the most part which was nice to see. The only mistake they made was bringing in Jace, which was a very epic fail. Now season two? Complete and utter bullshit. I can't even bring myself to catch up on the episodes. Are they seriously permanently eliminating talented underground girls and bringing in shitty idol rappers? seriously?? there's already too many fucking people! where's the comic relief? where's the actually entertaining drama that isn't petty and lame? where's the attitude? the fierceness? Literally, the fiercest one on the show is freaking Yezi, and no offense to her because I love her, but that isn't saying much. The best thing that's come out of this season is kasper's face and gilme calling out trudey's black "cosplay". Fuck you mnet! You ruined a show that had SMTM potential! I'm out!! Other than that, I think this season suffers from "been there, done that". The freshness of Season 1 isn't there for Season 2 so the warts are a little more visible this time (evil editing, pointless eliminations/addtions to the show, overdone drama, relying on audience votes) but those were all there in Season 1. Not having charismatic talents like Jessi/Cheetah doesn't help either but Jessi/Cheetah are one-of-a-kind type of performers. It's a bit unrealistic to expect anyone to follow that up. That's when the format of the show is supposed to create stars but Mnet is too busy focusing on drama instead (even though they are trying to make a star out of someone who is as fake as their tact). I mean just look at Yezi's Crazy Dog performance and how she and others reacted to it. Idols (and trainees) have just as much a right to be on these sort of shows as underground rappers do.
