It's unarguable by now that Shinee have reached the peak of their careers as a group, but the question here is when did they peak?

Ring Ding Dong: Their first HIT track showing off Shinee's allegedly unique sound, still remembered by most as their defining song!

Sherlock: Lauded for having one of the BEST boy groups choreographies, even with Infinite's Chaser being released just the previous year.

I'm undecided.   When do you think Shinee peaked? If you chose "other," respectfully state which era!

*pretends it's not a bait*

In terms of digitals/cfs their peak was probably RDD in 2009, but  since then their fandom grew a lot, started touring, developed their individual careers and View is digitally their best selling single of the last few years.

Also they only started to make real bank after 2011 so "peak" is irrelevant in SHINee's case

I think RDD but more than falling, I think they've been steady. Tho I heard (stressing heard, idk myself lol. grain of salt) that they had their best digitals with RDD (but I think its View now).

You are correct :)

can't handle dat booty so might as well just leave it out

lmao bless

but to answer OP, i chose RDD because i'm pretty sure it's bigger than Sherlock in Korea but i always thought Lucifer was SHINee's actual peak? i'm really mostly a casual fan but i've always noticed Lucifer was most well-received online... maybe just with international fans?

and i picked Jonghyun. not biased because Taemin is my favourite...he snatched Jjong's weave

this is bait but........, like people have said: shinee hit their biggest success with rdd and they had a streak that followed with lucifer and hello. replay is actually their best charting single via gaon according to end of the year charts, with rdd coming afterward. dream girl and sherlock were equally tied in terms of digital success and view is their best selling track digital overall. it also "beat" their past singles in terms of longevity. the most impressive thing about shinee, imo, when it comes to their success is that they managed to stay at the same level (and even rise higher) despite sm sending them off to japan right at the prime of their rise for close to two years when the market was beginning to become more and more saturated with groups. so, yeah, there's really nothing to complain about.

plus they kept rising the bar with their vocals and dance with each comeback. never a boring stage with shinee

Lucifer is a peak for international fans and public lol But the peak for Korean public and fans was Ring Ding Dong.

I wonder about view being their best selling track, it charted longer than sherlock and dream girl but we don't have rdd or replay charting period, it could have been longer, I also think one of the biggest factors for view being unusually stable on charts was the lack of hype, I wasn't around but I assume sherlock was a lot more hyped, which would explain it falling out of charts faster. Also view is probably gonna be around 50-60 on the year end chart depending on who is having a comeback in the next 3 months, replay was 20 something right?

agree with the rest tho. I think shinee is doing particularly well, maybe they really are past their peak, the impressive is that they are able to keep themselves relevant both in korea and internationally, with the bonus of constantly growing fandom and individual popularity

how can you say they had their peak?

can you see the future or what?

by the way... View did a lot better than Ring Ding Dong or Lucifer

so until now their peak is View

but you left out Key in your poll...and i know you're a hater so i don't take this thread too seriously
