Super Junior’s Kim Heechul And Girl’s Day’s Yura To Be MCs For “Life Bar†- Soompi

Super Junior’s Kim Heechul and Girl’s Day’s Yura have been confirmed as MCs for the second season of tvN’s “Life Bar.â€

 

On April 19, a source of tvN stated, “Kim Heechul and Yura will join ‘Life Bar’ as new MCs. With their youthful and bright energy, they will work well with the original MCs Shin Dong Yup and Kim Joon Hyun.â€

 

The revamped show “Life Bar†will air its first episode in mid-May.

 

Meanwhile, “Life Bar†is a show where stars give their honest opinion on things as they have a drink together. The first season of the show ended on April 13, and Kim Heechul and Yura will take place of the previous MC Tak Jae Hoon, who has decided to leave the show.

On the April 19 broadcast of JTBC’s “Let’s Eat Dinner Together,†Kim Heechul and Min Kyung Hoon appeared as guests and visited the UN village.

 

While walking around the neighborhood, Kim Heechul complained, “This is my limit for an outdoor variety show. I must have really bad endurance.†Lee Kyung Kyu, one of the MCs, said, “You’re completely made for a studio.â€

On the April 21 episode of SBS’s “Game Show,†a variety show focused on gaming, Super Junior’s Kim Heechul challenged Kim So Hye to a game of StarCraft.

 

This was the first time Kim So Hye had ever even played StarCraft. Former professional StarCraft player Hong Jin Ho began teaching her how to play for the first time in Kim Heechul’s “game den.†When Kim Heechul arrived with Kang Min, another former professional StarCraft player, Hong Jin Ho told them he was teaching Kim So Hye the basics of the game. Hearing that, Kim Heechul asked Kim So Hye, “So, did you learn?†Kim So Hye began to reply, “Yes, well…†Before she could say anything else, Kim Heechul challenged her to a one-on-one game.

Hong Jin Ho protested, saying that Kim So Hye wasn’t ready to play anyone since she had just begun to learn. Kim So Hye had only learned about StarCraft for 30 minutes before Kim Heechul’s arrival, so she still wasn’t clear on the details of how to play, let alone win. She had to ask “How do you win?†right before the game began. Still, she started off well, even correcting Hong Jin Ho as he gave his first instructions. She reminded him the game map was different from the one he had used to teach her earlier.

As the game continued, other visitors entered the game den. Comedian Kim Jin Ho arrived first, and he was quickly followed by ZE:A’s Heechul, Block B’s Jaehyo, and KNK’s Youjin. At each visitor’s entrance, Kim So Hye took the time to look away from the computer, and she would even get up at the keyboard to greet them. Meanwhile, Kim Heechul remained focused on the game, gleefully preparing offensive attacks on Kim So Hye’s units.

Kim Heechul Involved In Minor Car Accident On His Way To Filming For “Ask Us Anything†- Soompi

On April 27, Super Junior’s Kim Heechul was reported to have been involved in a minor car accident while making his way to a shoot for JTBC’s “Ask Us Anything.â€

 

A source shared, “It was a very minor accident and so Kim Heechul’s manager remained on site to straighten out the situation while Kim Heechul left with his stylist as to not be late to the shoot. As it was a small accident, [Kim Heechul] is currently filming as he usually does,†confirming that the star was fine, despite the accident.

 

 

An official statement from SM Entertainment was released later on, which said, “As the accident was minor, Kim Heechul insisted that he was fine and that he would participate in the filming as scheduled, which is why he left early to make his way to set. Since there could possibly be side effects from the accident, he will be visiting the hospital after completing filming.â€

Kim Heechul Talks About What He Almost Did Because His Vote For President Was Exposed - Soompi

In a live broadcast for SBS’s “Game Show,†Super Junior’s Kim Heechul shared an interesting voting story.

 

During the preliminary voting that took place on May 4 and 5 for the presidential election in Korea, Kim Heechul explained how the candidate he voted for was revealed. Kim Heechul had folded his ballot and placed it in the ballot box while reporters took pictures. Unfortunately, his ballot was lit up by the cameras and it was possible to deduce from the pictures which candidate had his vote.

 

In response to fellow cast member Hong Jin Ho’s remark that Kim Heechul’s ballot was “all lit up,†Kim Heechul laughed, “I almost had to take a break for five years. I was in Hong Kong for an event yesterday and my heart was pounding the whole time. You came close to never seeing me again on ‘Game Show.'â€

 

He also revealed how he found out about the incident and said, “I was filming an episode for ‘Ask Us Anything’ when people started contacting me. The Super Junior group chat was out of control.â€

Son Dam Bi shared that she knew Kim Heechul since her trainee days. The two met when they were 21 years old and maintained a close friendship for 14 years.

 

However, the MCs grew suspicious of their relationship and questioned if they had ever liked each other romantically, which they both denied.

 

“I never see my close female friends as possible lovers,†Kim Heechul asserted.

Kim Heechul Confirmed As Homeroom Teacher For Mnet’s “Idol School†- Soompi

Mnet’s new show “Idol School†is Korea’s first girl group educational institution that will be premiering in July. Trainees will be taught in a program for 11 weeks. Afterwords, those who pass the final exam and are considered star students will be immediately debuting as part of a girl group.

 

Kim Heechul is expected to play a pivotal role as the homeroom teacher for “Idol School.†He will be acting as a support system to the students, giving them practical tips to becoming an idol.

On the May 25 broadcast of tvN’s “Life Bar,†Super Junior’s Kim Heechul good-naturedly, but candidly, mentioned his frustration with being mentioned in other people’s dating rumors.

While bringing up how he’s been called a matchmaker of sorts, Kim Heechul starts off, “I hope that [Girl’s Day’s] Yura and Kim Root don’t get involved in any sort of scandal while filming ‘Life Bar.'â€

“[because] I’m 500 percent sure that my name will be included in those reports!†he exclaimed, before changing it to, “6000 percent sure.â€

Kim Heechul previously expressed how while he doesn’t mind his reputation for having many celebrity connections, he was annoyed with how many dating rumor reports will include his name just because of said connections, regardless of his actual role or lack thereof. The idol had explained that he actually “deletes their number and blocks the person†if someone tries to use him as a middleman because of his connections.

Yura, being a close friend of Kim Heechul, chimed in to reiterate how he actually doesn’t like it when people ask him to introduce him to other people. “He really hates being stuck in the middle [between two people],†she explained, while Shin Dong Yup further affirmed this dislike.

On the June 1 broadcast of tvN’s “Life Bar,†SECHSKIES appeared as guests. During the broadcast, Kim Heechul showed off an immense amount of knowledge about SECHSKIES, shocking everyone. Hilariously, it turned out that his sister was a huge fan, and Kim Heechul had been forced to learn about them through her.

 

Kim Heechul said, “When I told my older sister that I was going to audition for SM, she said, ‘How can you audition for SM when I’m a fan of SECHSKIES?'†SECHSKIES was formed under the current DSP Entertainment, while their biggest rivals, H.O.T, was managed by SM Entertainment.

 

Kim Heechul shared that he learned a lot about both SECHSKIES and their former labelmates Fin.K.L because of his sister.
