Kaleidoscope 1,068
Hi y'all. 1. I want to say: The Grand Budapest Hotel begins in the present, currently annexed, Republic of Zubrowka. I wrote: El Gran Hotel Budapest, comienza en el presente, actualmente anexó, República de Zubrowka. My prof had a problem with the 'anexó República de Zubrowka" part. She recomended that I clarify 'anexo' and add 'a la' in front of 'Republic of Zubrowka'. 2. I want to say: It is a cold winters day. I wrote: Es un dÃa inviernos frÃo. Is "Es un dÃa de inviernos frÃo." right? 3. I want to say: It is definitely a film that gives a toast to the finer elements of cinema. I wrote: Es definitivamente una pelÃcula que da un brindis a los elementos más finos de cine. Whats the problem??? 4. I want to say: The film is very peculiar and is filled with rapid-fire wit I wrote: La pelÃcula es muy peculiar y está llena de fuego rápido ingenio. She had a probelm with the 'fuego rápido ingenio' part.
abra 40,910
1. Shouldn't it be "actualmente anexado"? The "a la" part shouldn't be there based on my understanding of the sentence (that is that the republic is currently annexed into another country). 2. "Es un dÃa frÃo de invierno" 3 and 4 are too difficult for me
Crescent 8,578
1. El Gran Hotel Budapest, comienza en el presente, actualmente anexado, República de Zubrowka. 2. Es un frÃo dÃa invierno. 3. I have no idea of what's wrong, I think it's about the translation of toast 4 La pelÃcula es muy peculiar y está llena de ingenio/humor trepidante
giacc 196
1. "Actualmente anexado" 2. "Es un dÃa de invierno frÃo/ es un frÃo dÃa de invierno"<-- this is more accurate 3. Idk what the problem is 4. The translation for rapid-fire to spanish sounds weird.... Maybe just replace is with the word trepidante. "Está llena de ingenio trepidante"
ClassicMart 1,994
-El Gran Hotel Budapest comienza en la presente, actualmente anexada, República de Zubrowka. I don't understand that part 'in the present' but whatever. It can't be el República btw. -Es un dÃa de invierno frÃo. 3- del cine 4- I don't even know how to translate rapid fire wit --- Edit: your homework is so weird
Nancy_boy 2,019
the first one I believe the accent is wrong and I would say "actualmente anexada" because you are talking about the republic. And I would change the "el presente" to "la presente" for the same reason So it would be more like El Gran Hotel Budapest comienza en la presente, actualmente anexada, República de Zubrowka. You don't add the "a la" because nothing was annexed to Zubrowka republic. The 3rd one I don't know how to explain but is not "de cine" but "del cine" Es definitivamente una pelÃcula que da un brindis a los elementos más finos del cine. About the 4th one Fuego-rápido infierno doesn't make sense in spanish, is not an expresion used in spanish.
