[PANN] Ah really, foreign ARMYs...

This pann post was translated by @BTS0222.

I just want to be clear upfront that I, too, am a BTS fan and I’m not translating this to throw shade on BTS fans, nor towards foreign fans. the reason behind my translation is that I want foreign fans to understand that sometimes, the way we behave toward BTS on Twitter and their other SNS (including the official fancafe) reflects poorly on us and creates a bad reputation among Korean fans. all I want to do is encourage fans to exercise discretion and good sense in their responses.

so, with that said, here’s the PANN post I was asked to translate.

PANN: Ah really, foreigner ARMY…

Originally, I tried to view them nicely since they’re also ARMY, but as it is, I really hate seeing on YouTube the way they connect [bTS] with girl groups they’ve never had a connection with, and just among themselves say things like “ohh they’re so cute :’(†I also really don’t like seeing the way that they make sex jokes about the kids, to the extent that it makes me think it’s sexual harassment… I also really hate how they leave meaningless comments in response to their SNS updates, just because they want to be the first comment… Ahh…. could this be a cultural difference? Ha… in conclusion, let’s become pure BTS stansㅠㅠㅠ

[+12, -1] Me too;; It seems like there are a lot of people who don’t bother to understand the situation and just think whatever they want about it.

[+6, -0] Rather than being annoyed by the delusional fans, the sexual comments they make toward Jungkook are really severe… and those kinds of comments get more than 100 likes and the comments are all like ‘euhahah’

[+5, -0] Right?? Holy shit, I really agree with the one about SNS, every day it’s just “hey†“hi†fuck

[+3, -0] I heard that some of them photoshopped a condom into that picture that Yoongi posted with the Tank Boy… when I heard that, I thought, wow, it’s really that serious…

[+1, -0] Agree, totally agree, why are all the words I want to say right here… ha

[+0, -0] Even so, I think it’s kinda cute how some of them even go to the dictionary so they can express their feelings [to BTS]… like ‘I oppa love’… But I seriously hate those types of fans.

/// This isn't a thread to bash ARMYs. If you clicked here with the intention to leave comments like "BTS fans are trash" and other stuff like that you can kindly click out because that adds nothing to the discussion and i can't be bothered with stuff like that. I'm posting this here because i know stuff like this happen a lot on twitter, not only with BTS but a lot of other groups too, and it is indeed annoying and kinda disgusting when sexual comments are directed to underage idols. The OP talks about cultural difference but i don't it's because of that. It's just people being nasty and inconsiderate. I myself, as a foreign fan, find this stuff pretty annoying and stupid... I know this won't change anytime soon, which is sad... i just wish people would be more considerate about it. I know some people get overly excited sometimes and write in caps and all that stuff. I just wish they wouldn't do it under these idols posts and keep their 18+ comments either for themselves or post them in more appropriate places... and yeah, my rant is over. Feel free to discuss this... ///

The sexual comments thing makes me embarrassed. I mean, it's okay to think that way, but keep it to yourselves and don't talk about them on public media. It makes me wonder what BTS would think of them should they ever come across them.

With that being said, about the girl group thing, are they talking about shipping? I don't see anything wrong with it. It's pretty harmless, though k-fans are known to really hate that (there was this post on here one time about what k-fans thought of stupid i-fans, and making crack ships was one of their problems with us).

really? what's the point of translating 12 upvotes tho?

It's not a popular pann post and it was not translated by a site like Pann Choa and co.

The point of why it was translated it's in the OP... it's not hard to read tbh.

I'm glad that this has been addressed, the sexual remarks on SNS are basically because BTS are so active on twitter and fans feel the need to grab their attention or something. Some are just too young and overexcited, that's what we get when we have a fairly new fandom but regardless it's uncomfortable for anyone to read. I also saw a bunch of ARMY's on random videos just saying stuff like "the video mentioned dope, hahaha any bts fans here?"...those kinds of comments have no relation to the the actual video itself, making them unnecessary. They just need to tone it down and keep some of that shit to themselves, cause it's just like spamming.

ngl they make me feel a little uncomfortable too... he's just a baby. but then i hope that the ones who leave those comments are his age and not... you know. the creepy sort. i'll be fine with stuff like "OH HE'S SO CUTEEE" because lbr kookie is cute but /:

i just kinda hope they're not older

I think i-army complain more about it tbh

I can see why, and i complain a lot about it too, since it's generally really annoying. But k-armys complain about it as much, you just can't see it because not everyone can read korean and people definitely aren't going to translate every comment of theirs... but they do and i saw fansites being angry about it and addressing the issue too multiple times

someone enlighten me please, because I don't follow BTS. How  foreign Armys express their  thirstiness ? with sincerity? openly lustful thoughts, funny sexual jokes, like Kai’s fans do?  Korean Armys probably envy them because they cannot speak openly about their fantasies :P

Ha… in conclusion, let’s become pure BTS stansㅠㅠㅠ

jungkook only recently became of age though if i'm not wrong. kai is an adult. and sometimes these fans tweet these things. BTS actually reads their tweets sometimes so it's just... not a good look

What really irritates me is that alot of international armys comment on every youtube video about BTS or how it relates to BTS when the video has no correlation to BTS at all

à think this has been blown out of proportion by bandwagoners. Honestly, I'm not kidding when I say that kpop fans do this all the time. Just a few days ago there were some memes on Mangafox and people were bringing in kpop pictures of VIXX as ''humanized'' versions of these characters. And it's not like non-kpop fans are going to be bothered by it. If you're a non-kpop fan, and you see a comment about something you don't know, you're going to ignore it. Plus, it does have good effects: For example, I came to like 2NE1 after their fans kept on coming to Soshi videos when I was a really really new weeks-old kpop fan.

Agree,I don't think it's that big deal

I just think Koreans fans have their obsession for purity, all idols have to uphold an image of innocence and purity , while foreign fans have a more diversified sense of humor, they enjoy any kind of joke about their favorites, including sexual jokes.

Lol, I was surprised to know that they hated crack ships. Fans doing crack ships were mentioned in that list of what they hated about us. Strange, because they're relatively harmless. Delulu ships are funny, if anything.

I also agree with this, but a thing are sexual jokes, and a thing is being explicitly nasty... especially towards underage idols. The pann post is kinda over exagerating... thirstying a bit isn't a crime. But there is a time and place to be imo. And that is not under the idols SNS posts where they can read... that's pretty embarassing
