HugeBoi Minos Wife 40,568 Posted October 3, 2015 Share Posted October 3, 2015 I just come from this AKP article published two days ago with YG whining again about iKON being excluded from the Mcountdown charts for the second week in a row. http://www.allkpop.com/article/2015/10/yg-continues-criticizing-m-countdown-for-excluding-ikon-from-their-chart-for-the-second-week Well, I´ve got a lot to say about iKON and even though I like them as a group, many things are bothering me with YG on top of it ofc... Now, first of all, YG whining again is completely unnecessary... I cant believe he dragged Hyukoh into this mess, when he never even talked about them since they joined. Mnet might be shady but this time they´re clear: No appearance= No chart nomination! So if YG wanted them to win so bad, he could have just let them perform? other artists like Gary or Lim Chang Jung(#1 ON MELON) were not nominated, why would iKON be an exception??? Every broadcast channel has its own rules and from Mnet POV, you´re not helping their ratings so they will not nominate you... Either you perform or you dont but either way, deal with the consequences!!! Other artists have to fly from Japan just to be there for the show or performing while being sick (Soyu)... Thats why giving a trophie to people who dont bother performing would be as unfair as not giving it to them because they´re absent! Suddenly talking about Hyukoh and artists not being given equal opportunities is a reach when he never spoke against that WHEN they were eligible for #1. I swear, YG mediaplay and arrogance just reached a new low! He´s the reason why the boys are getting so much UNNECESSARY HATE. He should have let them be themselves and let them promote freely without the burden of being called "Monster Rookies" when that was just meant TO BE ANYWAY!!! They´re doing well on the charts for rookies but I would say it like I mean it: This album is a let down in my heart... Despite the music being good quality, it failed to showcase their real talent as in WIN and M&M. The boys are amazingly talented and I mean ALL OF THEM! But a non fan would not know when Double B are the main and Chanwoo is doing cameos in his own group... Airplanes is my jam but how come even in this MV, besides from rapping, Double B are involed in a love line WHEN CHANWOO WAS ORIGINALLY A CHILD ACTOR??? It makes no sense... they could have given other members like him and DONGHYUK more screentime by letting them act instead! Still cant recover from that "Lalitatatta..." only line from Donghyuk in Airplane when he improved so much in M&M! You should listen to "Eyes, Nose, Lips" Team B version... even Taeyang acknowledged his sweet voice, he shined there! All of the members have charms but its a pity people cant see it because of YG awful strategy... People even call them cocky because of that idol diss and even I recognize it was less than smart to say it but they´re really the sweetest boys ever and really mean no harm... I blame YG for that image he wants to give them and really hope those underwhelming results will wake him up! Knock it off with the mediaplay, slow down with the Double B exposure, let other members appeal with their charms NATURALLY!!! Ranting, complaining, shoving them into peoples´s throats is not gonna make them any likeable!!! YG needs to understand that the public will like them naturally for their talents and that´s it! He needs to shut up when his commentaries are not needed (like most of the time). The boys are working hard to earn non-fans' love but YG is practically being their anti by spewing crap and causing other people to hate them. He's sounding like a blind stan who has too much time to spend on social media to defend their favorite group over every single little thing and it's not a good look for a company president. They have changed rules for one artist/song, only to go back on their word the next week. If they wanted to uphold the "no performance, no award" rule then they should stick to it because other groups have won without performing/appearing in the past. There is the risk of annoyance if only two are promoted. Bobby ruined rhythm ta, he's trying too hard, doesn't look good, but fake. I'm a leessang fan and we dont complain about how gary doesnt get nominated and his digitals this and last week were better than ikons. Ikon will win on other shows but if mnet sets this rule ygs complaining wont change a thing. It only makes him look pathetic and ridic because he makes it look like mnet is plotting something against them even tho this rule applies to everyone... Nothing more nothing less... Hope their comeback will be different: bobby and b.i in the back and others take center stage. But, not fully supporting that MnetVSYG thing, but giving full support about other members' lack of exposure. Like damn, they are called 'GROUP,' (though I'm against of Chanwoo being in the group, not because I don't like him but there are too many members...), but they are just really focusing on Double B (Though I also understand it is somewhat a marketing strategy)...I understand other fans why they call it Double B ft. iKon or something...Furthermore, almost perfect...
