So based on the episode 7, the lumber mill owner is a Nam. Do you think he is a relative of Nam Geonwoo, the art teacher? He recently became a permanent teacher, it could explain why the family came back to the village.

Why are there so many characters related to art :derp:

I haven't had time to catch up on the latest episodes. I can't wait to binge watch 3 episodes at a time.

Also I love reading all of your theories.  :)

[ KKULJAEM ] The Village

tv daily - Nate: 'Village- Achiara's Secret' Jang Hee Jin and Shin Eun Kyung were sisters

1. [+261, -11] Wow. This is extremely thrilling. Why aren't more people watching?

2. [+185, -19] Jang Hee Jin committed suicide and I have a feeling that Yook Sungjae is the serial killer. In his phone, it says 'culprit'. That could be a hint. Also, in the preview for Ep. 1, he says "I wish a murder incident happens in our village"

3. [+24, -1] I thought it was strange when Yook Sungjae mentioned about wanting a murder incident to happen but I don't think he's the culprit

Naver
4. [+1,761, -65] Wow. 'Village' chills me to the bone ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Normally, you'd get a hit of the suspect early on but in this drama, I've got no clue who it is

5. [+1,804, -112] Sungjae's really amazing at acting!! Is the Baengi ahjumma laughing or crying? Jang Hee Jin's eyes give me the creeps

6. [+1,328, -37] This is really good but it's a bit convoluted and difficult to piece to piece everything together ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

7. [+361, -18] Yook Sungjae was really cool in this episode. In the last part, Jang Hee Jin's eyes are filled with resentment and hatred

8. [+311, -9] I never thought the Cinderella music would be so scary

9. [+265, -7] Kim Hye Jin is so pitiful. Her adoptive parents died in a car accident while her biological mother whom she somehow found doesn't want her

10. [+213, -5] I want to marathon this drama once it's over.

The other guy is Aghassi's brother, right?

Maybe the walnuts is something that both of them picked up when they were children. The brother was shown to be hiding something and he pointed out that he had a wife and kids but for what reason? Was he trying to prove that he's not longer a rapist because he finally settled down? Aghassi was in jail the last time someone was murdered by the serial killer.

The woman had already been running from someone by the time Aghassi found her, so maybe the brother is getting caught attacking women. The serial killer seems to have moved around the country a lot which Aghassi's brother seems to have been able to do. I definitely think he's the killer and Aghassi is trying to stop him.

I think Ahjussi is linked to Hyejin, not to the serial murder case. Ahgassi is not his brother, just a friend or an acquaintance I think. But he knows something that we don't.

The cliffhanger is horrible, I am one of those who believe Ahgassi is a good person.

On a side note, Woojae was cool these 2 episodes! Sungjae totally immersed in his role, that's nice to see.

I think Ahgassi is innocent too.

Ahjussi looks like the serial rapist and murderer to me though or else Ahgassi wouldn't have found the lady that was being attacked so easily. Maybe they picked the walnut thing up from somewhere or Ahjussi might be trying to frame Ahgassi, but he doesn't know Ahgassi was at the police station during one of the murders.

I also just found out Sungjae was an idol yesterday. I remember hearing about an idol being in this show when it first started but I had no reason to bother checking since everyone seems to be doing a fine job. Woo Jae is a great character and the scenes between him and his partner are probably my favorites, the characters and the actors work perfect together. I especially like how they're continuing the investigation no matter what. It happens all the time in detective dramas but I still find it awesome every single time lol.

those who watched ep 10 must have seen about "Fabry disease". I was curious if that inherited disease causes the red birthmark, if Gayeong also affected from the same disease that she got a similar mark, so I googled.

"Fabry disease is an inherited disorder that results from the buildup of a particular type of fat, called globotriaosylceramide, in the body's cells. Beginning in childhood, this buildup causes signs and symptoms that affect many parts of the body. Characteristic features of Fabry disease include episodes of pain, particularly in the hands and feet (acroparesthesias); clusters of small, dark red spots on the skin called angiokeratomas; a decreased ability to sweat (hypohidrosis); cloudiness of the front part of the eye (corneal opacity); problems with the gastrointestinal system; ringing in the ears (tinnitus); and hearing loss. Fabry disease also involves potentially life-threatening complications such as progressive kidney damage, heart attack, and stroke. Some affected individuals have milder forms of the disorder that appear later in life and affect only the heart or kidneys."

"The incidence of Fabry disease is estimated to be between one in 40,000 and one in 120,000 live births."

"The mutated gene that causes the disorder is located on the X chromosome. Unlike other X-linked disorders, Fabry disease causes significant medical problems in many females who have one altered copy. The signs and symptoms of Fabry disease usually begin later in life and are milder in females than in their affected male relatives. Some females who carry a mutation in one copy of the gene never develop any of the signs and symptoms of Fabry disease."

and this is how angiokeratoma looked alike

hmm. the crew misunderstood about the symptom and meant to hint the 2 were relatives as they inherited the same rare disease?

So far most of the obvious theories were revealed to be wrong. This 'birth mark' is probably a misleading hint too

Good point. I'm excited to see what's next.

Also, am I the only one who thought about something else when they kept mentioning the serial killer always leaves something in his victims?

sperm

xD

Yeah I love the police scenes, they're such a duo.

my opinion is the red mark is a clue to another clue. it won't be as simple as either gayeong or gayeong's mom is hyejin's sister. my hypothesis is

- gayeong's symptom is weak because she inherits only one mutated x chromosome

- the mutated chromosome either comes from her mom or her secret dad. her mom looks healthy, so it's her secret biological father that ill

- the father is the one close to hyejin. he may not be her sibling nor father but biologically close to hyejin's mother.

This show is trash for what they did with this Young Lady storyline... I think this will be my last episode.

I was deceiced as well, I like(d) Ahgassi, he is interesting. Actually, I knew he took an interest in Soyoon since the last episode, when he was in his car and stared at her passing by.

Why did Woojae make these hypothesis, I wished he was wrong this time... I'm still praying that it is not what it looks like ><

One thing is sure, there is another killer (if Ahgassi is one) because a murder was committed when Ahgassi was held by the police.

Anyway, here are my other thoughts:

- I was right, Nam Geonwoo and the lumber mill man (Mr. Nam) are related.

- it's confirmed that Gayoung and Hyejin are sisters from different mothers. I think Gayoung's mother was raped by the serial killer (remember her flashback several episodes ago) and gave birth to Gayoung.

- Their father could be Mr. Nam. So that would make them Geonwoo's sisters.

- I still have no clue about the other sibling with the same mother. It's still not clear whether or not Hyejin's mother is Jisook's mother. The medical certificate could be fake, Gihyun's long stare at the document does give the vibe that something is off. It's like the mother is denying Hyejin's existence.

- when Hyejin said "My mother even tried to kill me", I think it is linked to Soyoon's family car accident.

- Hyejin lived such a lonely life. It's quite sad that she couldn't get help from her family to get a transplant. Now, it makes sense that she asked her mother to save her.

shouldn't mr, nam have very poor health if he's gayeong biological father? the symptom of fabry disease is far worse in men than in women. besides, how old is this mr. nam?  is he old enough to be the father of hyejin? hyejin's father must be 50+ year old. soyoon, our protagonist, is 28 year old (korean age?) and hyejin was 4-5 year older.

geonwoo repeated to gayeong that she must tell her mom about her symptom. he hinted that gayeong's mother would know gayeong inherited a serious disease by the symptom. didn't that mean gayeong's mother knew gayeong's father well enough to know that he was sick of the disease and how his symptom was?

like you've said, the writer liked to give us misleading clues, how he/she suddenly gave us an obvious clue is fishy. i can't believe yet that pilsung is a/the serial killer.

- episodes 15 and 16 (finale) the week after ; finale on December 3

the art teacher :ahmagah: :ahmagah:

apparently he is a rookie actor, looking forward to his future activities

I like him too, he is quite good. I got to know him in Toondra Show before this drama, so I was very excited to watch him in a different role.

http://youtu.be/oLjCezM8768

The webtoon is not entirely subbed, but trust me, the story is very simple and you understand a lot by just watching.

I didn't know he was in Tundra Show cause I only watched Ilhoon's cuts XD

On Asianwiki it also says that he appeared in the drama "Take care of us, Captain".

Haha I understand, I saw that Junghwa was in it so I gave it a try, and it was fun from the start. I didn't watch the 3rd story

The actor playing Sungmin's father appeared once (or twice?) in Junghwa's story.

The Village

Xports News - Naver: 'Village', Jang Hee Jin and Lee Yeoreum are the rape victim's daughters

1. [+4,042, -97] This writer is honestly crazy in a good way. I can't believe a drama of such a perfect writing is airing in Korea ã„·ã„·ã„·

2. [+3,093, -101] At least, that pharmacist shows a slight sense of conscience seeing that she sent the letter to Moon Geun Young. I don't think the suspect is the aghassi or that ahjusshi. The crime has been going on for 30 years thus, the suspect should be a lot older which I'm guessing is Chairman Noh

3. [+2,566, -71] This is super scary yet so good.

4. [+2,146, -83] Jang Hee Jin was born 30 years ago out of rape?

5. [+1,616, -46] Heol daebak ã„·ã„·ã„·ã„·ã„· wow

6. [+987, -8] Look how rape ruins a woman's life.. Rapists deserve to die

7. [+607, -22] So that's why Jang Aeri who was raped abandoned Jang Hee Jin. She's pitiful too

8. [+576, -18] In that case, ahgasshi is not the suspect

9. [+566, -13] If another writer took charge of this drama, he/she would've turned it into makjang... This writer is pretty impressive.. Moon Geun Young, Lee Yeoreum and Shin Eun Kyung are all amazing actresses. I'm not familiar with the male lead but I just found out that he's an idol.. He's really good

10. [+540, -12] The baby in the last part gave me goosebumps

Ratings
1. Gaekju - 12.0%
2. Sweet Savage Family - 9.1
3. Village - 5.7%

I found Jang Hee Jin (starring as Kim Hye Jin) look familiar so I did google her name.

She appeared in many projects before (as supporting cast)

-Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy (2005)

-Que Sera Sera (2007)

-Big (2012)

- My Daughter Seo-young (2012)

-Scholar Who Walks The Night (2015)

and so on...

She's been working in the industry since 2003 but still has never had a lead role.

I think her acting is good in "The Village." I hope she'll gain more recognition in the future.
