I did not and still have not figured out what I want to do in life.. how does one succeed in doing this?

I feel left behind. I still like kpop/jpop/ dramas and variety shows more than showing interest in finding a career. I feel stumped. Can't even find a proper job with the bad economy..

Any advice? I don't even know where this thread is supposed to go :rlytearpls:

SAME

i'm about to gradute from college but i also don't know what will i do, i realized that i don't even like my major that much anymore and the jobs availables are so shitty i'd rather be jobless, i do have other few things i would like to try but i'm so lazy i just want to skip this part and go to the part when i'm my 30's with a stable job lmao

i actually regret choosing my major, at first i wanted to try a different career, like a interesting one and not cliche but i'm so dumb, i literally don't care about the job anymore i just want to do a repetitive, easy, boring work, like whatever just give me my money, but in my major i have to think, be creative, find good oportunities, work very hard to get results....... ain't nobody got time for that, and my personality doesn't help either, i'm not very good with words, it just sucks :(

idk i'm just living my life day to day, following the flow

i still live with my family when i'm capable of buying my own place.( basically i don't want to live on my own)

i have a job with really good salary so i don't bother to find any better jobs ( it's been almost four years since i graduated from university and i'm still working at the same place).  people asked why don't i open my own law firm but it's too complicated for me atm

i also don't want to move forward relationship wise too, like the idea of being in serious relationship/marriage/settling down scare me off.

honestly my life is too comfortable and safe i'm not a risk taker

my advice is that don't be like me. go out and explore things? you'll eventually find your course of life

i should do the same as well

I think there's a lot of fun in not knowing what to do.

I'm still not really sure where my life is going despite getting older but I'm enjoying trying to work out where everything is going. I guess there's more and more obstacles and consequences as we get older but I don't see it as a reason to stop looking. To be honest I never really understood how twelve year old me was meant to have planned and set out a life-course for twenty/thirty/forty/fifty year old me.

My main advice would be to make sure you're continuing to try and find what interests you. Don't just stand still. Not knowing can be great! It gives you something to pursue, even if you're doing so blindly.

I feel ya. Right now im jobless. I quit my first job and been staying at home for more like 3 months. I know i need to get my shit together again coz im going insane seeing all my friends doing good while im here feeling useless and shit, being distracted coz of kpop, social media etc. I want to do a lot of things but i always end up not doing anything.lol.its fckin frustrating.ANYWAY.nuff about my boring ass life.

Just explore i guess...sometimes we need to get lost to find ourselves.(something like that)

Go apply for a job that you find exciting. It's all about determination. If you really want to succeed then change your mindset. Let go of the things that is pulling you down....everything that is distracting you to focus about your future LET GO of it.

That's basically my advice to myself. :rlytearpls:

its fuckin hard but im trying...small progress is better than no progress at all...

I have too many plans for life including learning japanese and working in japan but rn the probability of that happening is 1%  :rlytearpls:

When I entered college, I didn't know what career path I should take but I kind of just googled a degree that sounds interesting and with great pay so I ended up majoring in CS  :derp:

Now in my second year of college, but I just started the preparatory course for my major so Idek if I can even finish it within 4 yrs idk. I'm turning 20 but my knowledge and experience with life is equal to that of middle schooler or even with lower  :derp:

It's sad that I allowed myself to be in this state, but no matter how much I try to change my life, I still can't. Idek. I envy people with joyous life but Idk how to change mine. Idek if I want to change it. I only know I'm miserable rn. I only go to school 2 days a week, and for 5 days, I stay at home 24/7.

what would you consider old? I'm 22 and I think for now I'm quite sure about what I want to do, but there's nothing wrong about feeling a little clueless or lost, as long as you find something that makes you happy enough to settle for. just don't do something you hate, it's only going to make you miserable. there's nothing bad about enjoying your hobbies (be it k-pop or whatever) at any age as long as it doesn't harm you in any way. for me, it even helps me to get through the day.

I think it's a matter of time and that eventually everything falls into place, because I'm optimistic like that. Maybe you need some more time with yourself, thinking things through, traveling a bit. Just make sure you don't stand still in your place and do nothing about it.

I was going through this same thing a couple years ago. I took multiple classes at community college of things I thought I was interested in and I ended up hating all the classes I took so I felt really lost. I knew I didn't want to be stuck in an office or some other standard job but I also knew I didn't want to be in school for years and years. I've luckily found a career that fits what I was looking for (and I literally decided to do it on whim which I wouldn't totally recommend but hey it worked for me) but I definitely remember the struggle of seeing all my friends knowing exactly where they wanted to go in life while I was clueless. However I've discovered people don't really have it all together like we think they do, so don't feel so bad about yourself. Just take your time and maybe find a part time job doing whatever while you try to find out what you want to do so at least you'll feel like you're making some progress.
