basically she is always a goddess for cnetz, until she dated with the korean dude. then people dig up stuff of her with her supposedly step father saying she basically slept with him to get more famous so on and so forth. i'd say her career definitely got affected but to say she's exiled, not really

The OP is just trying to catch attention but he or she is really late on these news. It's been out for a while now but LYF's fame couldn't just shattered overnight especially by this baseless rumor. The rumor of her having a stepfather as a cover up for their relationship (which is why the OP said she's going down Gong Li's path) has always been around since her career started. It's only resurfaced because lately, she's dating SSH and since he's Korean, many chinese netizen started to jump on this hate and xenophobic bandwagon to bash her. Her antis found the opportunity to join in. So then, journalists have been trying to catch viewers by putting up all these kinds of bait titled articles saying that they caught her stepfather with his new, young lover, who looks like a replica of Liu Yi Fei. Netizens then assumed that the rumor of LYF and her stepfather in the past is probably true since he's dating someone that looks like her as soon as she's also starting to date someone else. So recently, the comments for her in her related articles are not so much as positive as before but the upvotes for them only reached up to 6 to 10k, which in China isn't considered much. China is rather different from Korea because it's a lot bigger and since LYF isn't some kind of idol, but a more respectable actress especially in terms of the beauty department, they are just really bitter over the "loss" of her but most don't really hate her but SSH. But tbh, there is 0 evidence that Liu Yi Fei and her stepfather really engage in a romantic relationship to date. She still has a strong base of fans and public recognition.

Ah, thank you for explaining it.    Yeah I do think Yifei is too big to actually have something crumble over night.   To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of her relationship with SSH, it's not the fact about him being Korean, sometimes I think it's probably just him.     I don't really like him especially with the whole 'military service escape' thing because it makes him look so dishonest.  Then there's the fact he starred in an R rated movie.   If it's let's say someone with a good and respectable reputation like Lee Minho, Park YooChun,  Joo Won or Park Haejin, I don't think most people would mind and I think I would definitely be more supportive.   But yeah, I still think she's too good for SSH.
