The issue of 'sajaegi' (chart manipulation) has been riling up the entertainment scene lately with accusations being thrown left and right about possible groups or agencies that may be utilizing such a method to secure their position on charts.

One of the agencies that has been frequently pointed out is Starship Entertainment, and the agency is saying enough is enough. They will no longer tolerate such accusations and will be taking legal action against those who spread malicious comments and associate their artists with 'sajaegi'.

Starship just sent out a press release with the statement, "We will be pursuing legal action against those who have been leaving malicious comments, spreading false rumors about 'sajaegi' by our artists, and insisting on false claims with ill intent."

"There have been many insulting comments that we cannot tolerate and false words about Starship's artists. Even recently, malicious commenters have been fabricating false claims regarding the 'sajaegi' rumors and leaving offensive words that target our morals. We believe that this is not simply defamation of character, but also a crime that violates the basic human rights that everyone should be guaranteed. Thus, with our artists suffering much pain from groundless rumors regarding 'sajaegi', and the achievements produced by their sweat and efforts being undermined, we have decided to [take action] as we can no longer overlook the matter. Therefore, we have appointed the law firm Sejong to take aggressive legal action and have begun collecting data."

They also added, "Although they had been suffering from an immense amount of malicious comments, Starship artists had endured it up til now as they are public figures. However, with the number of netizens, who repetitively and calculatingly leave malicious comments over the past several years, increasing, it has come to a point where our artists can no longer endure it even as public figures."

They also revealed their hopes that netizens and fans will stop pointing fingers at legitimate companies who are competing fairly, stressing that they are not involved in 'sajaegi'.

since this was posted first

Starship Ent:

Just stated that basically they have had enough and have let it go for too long. Now the legal team has decided that it is fed up with all the rumors and it no longer wants unfounded rumors to dampen their artists success. Anyone posting chart manipulation rumors or spreading false info or simply prosecuting/bad talking their artists will be sued.

Some people have legit proof especially against the Brave Brothers earlier in 2012 but I believe there are not doing the sajaegi anymore nowadays. However, the image is already there and the damage was done years before.

What proof? There was never any proof about digital sajaegi against SISTAR. The only manipulation Brave Bros has been caught up in has been physical album sajaegi, no digital sajaegi.

If anyone had "legit proof" as you said something would have been done about Starship years ago. Especially since Sistar has not stopped making money on CF's etc etc. Plus Melon had no reason to align themselves with them and potentially destroy their multi-billion dollar company.
