By my own experience... you will thank this later. I was deeply in love with my best friend and now I thank that didn't go any futher and we're better than we ever were (we are still being bff tho).

I'm late but, I know how you feel, this is story of my life few years ago.

I was really in love with my friend, I was about to confess as I thought he is into me too from the way he acted around me (and everybody else thought so as well). Then he told me he confessed to a girl he liked a lot for a long time. I had no other way but to wish him happiness even though it was heartbreaking.

We are still friends and you know what? I'm glad nothing beside friendship happended between us. We both matured since and I managed to notice we wouldn't be a good match and that he would sorta kinda annoy me a lot in some ways if we were dating so it's all fine how it is. I guess fate knew what it was doing ^^.

Don't be sad, I'm sure there is somebody out there for you.

Also, it's often that you develop a crush on your friend as it's close bond and you might end up thinking that the care you have for him is something more, especially with peer pressure of society about dating and such... Don't get caught in that!
