So here we go! I'm going to write a little report/account on what happened to me yesterday (june 11th, 2011) at SMTOWN Paris... 

This is both simply for myself (I like to keep in writting the memories I have of special moments with Jungsoo and suju) and for everyone who asked for it via twitter ^^ 

 

There's 3 parts in this... my background with jungsoo to understand everything, smtown paris, and finally a little talk about what I feel about Jungsoo, my future in fandom...etc.

 

First of all, for everyone who reads this who might not know who I am at all, I need to do a quick recap... Or you wouldn't understand how yesterday happened. It wasn't the first time I met Jungsoo at all, and it's only because of what happened in the past that yesterday was yesterday... ^^ 

 

 

Background story

 

So, I'm french (not half korean or anything), and I live in Paris. I have been a suju fan since the early days~ I used to be a mod in the suju lj comm, and I was co-founder of sj-world.net, admin for 2years as well until earlier this year. Jungsoo is my fav since day 1.

 

I went to korea for the first time in winter 2007, and then already with my friend isabelle who is french as well, we got noticed on sukira during open studio, and Eunteuk talked to us through the mics outside. That was the first contact.

 

I went for holidays i korea again in summer 2008 during Yoriwang promotion. I got many chances to see Jungsoo then at performances (M!countdown, music bank, sukira...) but also at fansigns. Back then in korea there was very little white fans coming to so many events, that made Isabelle and I very lucky on many aspects.. We were recognised more easily, and remembered as well (from fans, security, or the boys themselves sometimes).

 

I then went to korea in january 2009 to live and study there. I stayed until april 2011. 

 

In march 2009 I went to a hug event filmed by MBC. While I was in the line someone from the staff asked me to comeon stage because i was the only white person there, they wanted to do something special and I got interviewed by Shindong and Jungsoo. Then I hugged Jungsoo.

 

After that I went to many sorry sorry performances, and also many "Challenge! Good song" recording, in the public. Tv shows recordings like that are really cool, you can talk to Jungsoo (or your favorite idol whoever he is) very easily, because there's not many fans and we are right by the stage. So Jungsoo started seeing me a lot then.

 

Then the ultimate luck, in summer-fall 2009 I got asked to participate in the KBS tv show "ë¯¸ë…€ë“¤ì˜ ìˆ˜ë‹¤!" (misuda / chitchat of the pretty ladies). A show with a pannel of foreign girls talking in korean about their life in korea and their own culture etc. The night after the first show aired, Jungsoo sent me a private message via cyworld saying "congratulation!^^" in korean (click). I was mostly talking about him during the show so he most likely heard about it a lot lol. But I was still crazily surprised and happy when I saw the message <3

 

I then participated in the "special" of this show happening for chuseok (a korean holiday). The writters of the show asked for Jungsoo to participate with me. We danced together then had a short interview.

The after that he also guested on a misuda episode where i was there so we talked a bit... 

 

I left misuda by the end of the year but i kept going often to Star King recordingsin the public, and going to concerts, and well... he was still seeing me a lot everywhere, and he was usually asking me news when I was coming to star king or other shows recordings. "how have you been? what are you doing now in korea? did you watch this or that?" etc. or I was asking him stuff as well.

 

That's also how I knew before about SMTOWN Paris and told it on twitter before it was announced, because he told me about it on star king~ 

 

 

So all this brings us to SMTOWN in Paris yesterday!! lol.

 

 

SMTOWN Paris Press con + Backstage

 

Earlier this week I got a message from a korean friend, he told me SBS had contacted him so he would contact me. SBS remembered me from misuda (even though misuda was on KBS lol) and they wanted me for a special interview thingy of the french fans at smtown paris... So I got in touch with them and I met them on friday. But it was raining and they started up late so nothing happened friday in the end. We decided to meet again on saturday at 3pm. 

 

I went to the concert in standing, it was great :D nothing special to report. There's so many videos, i do not need to report the actual concert lol ^^

 

On saturday, I met SBS people around 3pm. First we did a game with the fans waiting. I was "MC" lol (though I suck as a MC ^^;; even in french). We had boards with pictures of idols from smtown and participants had to find out their names and the best were winning suju and dbsk signed albums~ 

 

The thing is... Any normal Kpop fans can usually tell the names of all soshi, suju, shinee, dbsk and fx... At least if they are not completly one group-biased or very new (but I am jungsoo super biased and still I know them xD) anyway, it was too easy and all te participant had all the names. So we added a new thing, anyone who could tell the name of the idols PLUS sing or dance on a SM artist song would win the prize! The girls who won the suju album were cute xD they were crying when they saw the signs in the CD lol xD;; 

 

Once the game ended, I followed the SBS people inside the venue. It was time for the press conference with all the artist and they told me I could watch. The press con was happening on the main stage in the venue... And I was looking from the standing area. 

 

First they started talking by themselves, on how they loved Paris, how they were extatic to be here, how they were so surprised by how many euro fans they had, etc etc. Then there was a few questions, especially from a british journalist and because the only translator they had was a korean-french translator, it's Tiffany and Jessica who translated for the rest of SMTown lol.

 

While someone was answering a question, I noticed Jungsoo looking around my area. But because on stage there's all the spotlights on your face, you can't see anything among what's not under the light (hense why when we think idols look at us in concert... they actually don't. Well, they look at us maybe but they don't SEE us. They have the lights in their eyes and we are in the dark... They see forms... they can tell there's people's heads but that's all) 

 

So he was squitting, trying to see. At some point he even bended down, his head at the size of his knees to try to look but it seem like he wasn't sure what he was looking at. I tried to walk forward but it didn't seem to change much at first.

 

Then Jungsoo turned around, behind him was Yehsung. And I saw him say something like "Is it Alice there?" they both tried to look, and I stepped more forward (I couldn't come at the edge cause there was photographers) I waved quickly and so he could recognised me and waved quickly back with a smile ^^ 

 

After just 4 questions or so in the press con, they already said there was no more time and they stopped. While all the other artists were leaving, Jungsoo came over to me and was like "long time no see! how are you?" so we started talking a bit, I explained that I'm back in france now etc. 

 

There was a MBC camera behind me that I hadn't noticed, but he was filming Jungsoo talking to me... Jungsoo had seen him and started talking at the camera "this is Alice, she was is my fan who was on misuda. We danced together!" I turned around and said Hi to the camera lol... Quite embarassing xD But cute at the same time. 

 

Anyway, he asked me if i was going to that night's concert and I said no cause at that time I had no ticket but I said I went the day before and it was awesome. Then because he was the only one left on stage he had to leave...

i was on the left: At 9'15 Jungsoo starts to look in my area and figure out if it's indeed someone he knows, 9'30 he bends down to see better, 10'50 he asks yehsung then waves quickly twice, at the end you can see him talk with me ^^

 

After that, the SBS people told me they were going to hold interviews with the artists and that I would be the one asking the questions to super junior O_O I got really scared rofl but well I wasn't going to say no.

 

So we went backstage, when we arrived, I noticed Siwon was eating with an older man (probably a manager or something, though I ever saw him before), Donghae and Minho were walking around together, talking. Amber was practicing dancing in the corridors, Taemin and onew were on a couch, onew checking something on his laptop. Finally, Heechul was in Lacoste clothes taking pictures (probably endorsement photoshoot). We waited for a bit, then Shinee arrived. I stayed in the back and didn't say anything except hello and thank you. They might have wondered what the hell I was doing there (well, I don't blame them, I was wondering the exact same thing xD) and minho stared at me most of the time ._. Though I know it's his "thing" it was weird lol. 

 

After the end of the itv, the SBS people realised they had forgot to ask one thing so we went back to them and showed them an article about them in "Le monde" (biggest french newspaper), 4 of them played the whole "omg so cool!" game in front of the camera but Jonghyun stayed in the back, playing on his phone. The manager was right beside them but didn't seem to mind him not taking part. 

 

Once that was over, DBSK came. First they did a MBC interview, then one with SBS. I stayed in the back as well. Then it was F(x) turn, the same thing happened, and as well for Soshi. Hyohyeon had a pink rose, she was also the only one without hills so she was tip toeing not to look too short.. xD To the question which member do they think has the most fans in france, they directly said Hyohyeon. Also in f(x), they said Amber had the most fans. 

 

Then finally arrived suju. Jungsoo said Hi to me again, surprised to see me here I guess, and then for a little while they talked to the journalist. Because SBS had only brought one mic and they had just realised suju were 10 and it was going to be complicated for me to take the mic then give it to them etc. :/ quickly they concluded it wasn't going to work so I didn't do the interview lol. (thank god xD) Also, Siwon and Donghae at first seemed to be like "who is this girl, I think I know her" but they couldn't place me. But when Jungsoo talked to me, said Alice and stuff like that Siwon remembered and told Donghae. Then Donghae was like "oh I remember you from the fansign!!" (I had him on fansign in 2010.. O_O wow good memory!! XD) anyway after that, I was like... very awkard, not sure what to do with myself, they were all looking at me and I obviously looked awkward lol. The journalist was like "oh she is blushing!" and Jungsoo and others (not sure who) laughed a bit *dies from embarassment forever* Siwon talked to me a bit (in korean ;__; why couldn't he talk in english rofl xD there was so much noise with the fans in the venue screaming, I couldn't hear everything... plus in general when I'm around them I have a brain freeze ^^;;; so my korean is limited rofl) asking me if i was still studying, etc.

 

Anyway then they did the interview, they spoke in french, said they wanted to go to south america and hyukjae started dancing some kind of salsa xD (well you will see all that once the interview airs anyway!!) jungsoo, hyukjae, yehsung and siwon were the only ones talking... sometimes they tried to give the mic to other boys but they always pushed it back... nothing to say it seems. Also Shindong really looked in a bad mood idk why ): And sungmin looked insanely tired ): 

 

Then when it was over Jungsoo said good bye to me, they all left... And right after they had disapeared the journalist was like "oh no we forgot to ask them for a picture!" I was like... what what? I didn't ask for one, well not that I would be against it but... it's ok don't worry! But she runned after them and asked Jungsoo for a picture lol xD He said ok, but first they had to do something else so first all the SM artists went up to film something for idk what, probably SM. 

 

A couple of minutes after they all came back to their rooms. First Siwon, when he saw me shook my hand and said good bye again and good luck for the rest... So handsome.. I can't. 

 

Then Jungsoo came back, I gave my phone to the journalist and he took the pic of us, at that moment the soshi girls were coming down to their rooms as well but we were blocking the way cause the corridors are very small... (so embarrassing... again xD)

After that, he asked me if I would come back to korea, I said no, that i was here definitively he was like "really?" and I said I might come back later, for holidays~ so first he shook my hand... And then like in kind of an impulse move, he came forward and hugged me <3 I was surprised but it felt good <3 it was actually my 3rd hug with Jungsoo, first was at the hug event and second was at a special cabbage sale event (it was my twitter background for a looong time). And every sigle times it felt really good... even though he is skinny (lol) it's warm and comfy to be in his arms like that. I always die a little when it happens... Then I miss it for weeks afterwards. 

 

But every good things have to come to an end, and after that we said a final good bye and I left. Even though I didn't have a concert ticket, because the concert was about to start when I left I ended up in the standing area... so I didn't have to go anywhere, I just stayed there and enjoyed the concert ^^ 

 

 

You can say that I'm very lucky, because it's true... I've been insanely lucky with the fandom in general, and especially with Jungsoo. I have nothing to say for my defence...Cause most of everything I lived thank to Jungsoo was mainly luck. I even had a photoshoot with Andre Kim thanks to him... indirectly thanks to him but noneless... I wouldn't have had that experience if i hadn't been his fan. 

 

I have a lot to thank him for. I started being a fan of super junior and of Jungsoo mainly because I had a hard time in real life and needed somewhere to escape... It became a whole part of my life for 5 years and it actually.. became too much at some point. I realised by the end of last year that it had taken OVER my life, that I had barely any real life and at 24... I needed to get back on my feet and move forward. But with Jungsoo it's everything or nothing, if I'm his fan I -AM- his fan and I'm fully commited to it. I thought I had to cut it off my life completly or nothing. It killed me to say this but at this point, it seemed to be the case. So for the past 6months I tried to get away from fandom... not listening to kpop or following anything... It worked... kinda. But I was close to success for the past couple of months. SMtown and everything that happened brought me back completly into fandom and the past 6 months had turned into dust.

 

Now... I decided to take a new approch to it. I will still be a Jungsoo fan, I won't try to cut fandom off my life completly, because obviously it will always come back at me. Look at how they came to France right when I left Korea... It's like they are following me, like if my luck is a curse... but I don't want it to become one so I'll stay in fandom, just try to be only there a little... not so much into it as I used to it. 

 

I don't exactly know what my life in fandom will become in the future anyway... All I can say is that whatever happens... Jungsoo will always have a special spot in my heart, he will always be my special person, he brought a lot of joy and tears to my life and it will never be forgotten. I love you Park Jungsoo ♥

He's a member and the leader of the only group I stan and also is one of my favorite members. It's impossible for me to forget him xD I make sure I tweet him 'I Miss You' every single week.

 

Are you going through some tough moments? I know it's being tough on you because your 2 bias are in the army .___.

Maybe it's just me, but I am not annoyed by irrelevant polls' results like the one afore mentioned for exemple. Especially when irrelevant and biased people are the ones voting. You can clearly see that was another of those 'vote for our bias' thread when you see that Taeyeon has all those many votes. She's the girl who said that being a leader of her group was a huge weight in her shoulders, the weak one who refused to lead her own group publicly and also is the same one that doesn't get along with many members of her group and possibly creates anymosity among them. She's everything but a leader. A girl like her has tons of votes in that poll, yeah ...

 

What truly matters in this case is that Leeteuk was chosen as the Best Leader by the industry insiders and other idols for 3 years in a row. Voted by people who know him, work with him directly or indirectly and interacts with him often or even on a daily basis. He's not SM's spokeman out of nothing either. His leadership skills were multiple times proven, he seriously doesn't need to prove anyone anything anymore.

 

Even with his enlistment, no one can't say a word about his profissionalism and leadership skills and this is what is probably biting everyone in their asses. Not only he protected Super Junior's dignity by treating his back so he could enlist as a soldier instead of a public service personel, he was praised by his perfect shooting marks and leveled up to lead his own squad in record time. In addition, he's one of the few celebrities who wasn't involved in any type of scandal while serving, had the decency to not tweet a single word while a soldier even though he could use Twitter in his free time, refused to go to the hospital when he injured his back in the army so media wouldn't report about him having special treatment and was highly praised by loads of other soldiers (even by the ones who didn't work with him directly). He did and still does everything to protect Super Junior from bad media. He doesn't succeed in all his trials though.

 

Leeteuk mentioned before that if he wasn't an idol, he'd persue a politician carreer. Leeteuk was also the representant of his class year after year in his school days. Therefore, he's a natural leader. Super Junior members have always affirmed and praised Leeteuk in that aspect. During all those 8 years, any member ever questioned Leeteuk's position and I'm yet to see if they ever will. Remember when members said that Leeteuk used to call them individually to his room and have serious conversations about Super Junior and their personal lives and if they want something to change in order to have a better relationship with each other? Remember when Leeteuk had to bow down and lower himself to ask for other groups fans' to cheer on Super Junior because ELF weren't able to be there? Remember that Leeteuk said Donghae's father personally asked him to take care of his son before passing away? Remember that Leeteuk said he personally checks every single member before stepping on the stage? All the afore mentioned things are things a leader should do to protect and take care of his group. And Leeteuk does all those things with perfection.

 

Maybe many of his haters and sadly some other ELF refuse to acknowlede that, but Leeteuk played a huge part in Super Junior's longlasting career. I honestly think Super Junior wasn't to last this long if Leeteuk wasn't there to gather everyone together and lead members into the right direction. Even today, he still mentions Hangeng, Kibum and other missing members because of enlistments in his speeches.

 

Contrary to what people think, Leeteuk isn't only highly respected by the industry insiders, he's also highly respected by the general public. Adjummas and adjussis from South Korea - and some others from other Asian countries - absolutely adore Leeteuk because of his respectable and professional image.

 

Having said all that, I don't think an irrelevant poll made in a certain k-pop forum dominated by a certain fanclub known to be Leeteuk hater and even had the guts to formulate a nickname for him *coughMosquiTeukcough* because Leeteuk called them out a few times years ago will change anything.

I noticed there were some people who minused my post in the previous page. Found it a bit weird once ELF in OH have this policy of not minusing any post in any official thread about Super Junior so I went to look it up and indeed it wasn't ELF.

 

I hope that if you're going to be a regular lurker here, at least respect the policy of this thread. We won't be able to know if we're having internal problems here or immature people are coming to visit us.

 

And for clarification purposes only, no one is bashing your fandom by calling it bias or a Leeteuk hater. Anyone who can read an comprehend will understand what we said without getting rilled up. They are observations, however you may feel free to disagree with them.

 

By spreading that we're bashing your fandom in the artist thread you're being extremely immature and whiny. But again you are the same person who said that ELF give you cancer so whatever.

It might be for real an "iirelevant" poll, but it hit me pretty much. Call me sensetiv or what ever, I dont care. I am hurt, butthurt, mad, angry, pressed whatever at a rlly high level. It still shocking for me. I cant see it and take it. I dont even read the Thread complettly, the result of this voting is more i can take. LeeTeuk has twice as much voices as others.. At this level i strike.

 

But also the fact that Onew has votes is like frozen hell.. This reaches a level of stupedy what explodes my universe...

 

O/c is this poll irrelevant if u see this as whole, but sadly its not as much irrelevant as u want it to make. OH in general became latelly relevant and sadly the meaning of "pressed" User here is the same as from the (K)-NETIZEN. And i think that OH is nicer than AKP or other Forums. Where the ppl normaly eat u up. So this irrelevant poll IS represantive. Its sad that the general meaning to the question who the worse Leader is, is like automatically Teukie. O/c I know that Teuk gets prised from the ppl who works with him. And yes I remember too that he was choosen as best Leader from Insiders. Its good and i am Proud. This is how the Haters/ppl want see him.. Not many cares about that he done good things or is a good Leader, or even that he rescued the live of their loved Kyu back than (dont understand this as offensive or wank here), no they only see him as devil who needs to be dead..

 

I am ashamed of this poll. Some of U ever makes jokes that the Members stalk our Threads, but i pray that Teuk never in his live will see the one and alike Threads.. I dont want see him hurt, its more than enough that i am at such level.

Like some other posters said, any poll made in this forum will automatically be irrelevant in the grand scheme of things statistically speaking, especially the ones related to Super Junior and most especifically about Leeteuk and Shindong. Because (1) there are very few voters; (2) a certain fandom is considerably big here therefore the sample selectionisn't random; (3) this fandom is known to be Leeteuk (and Super Junior) hater since forever; (4) one individual votes only once so the result's will reflect the dominant fandom's preferences; (5) ELF fandom isn't active in Kpop forums to balance the results and (6)kpop fans are bias and oblivious to discern who's right or wrong, who's deserving and who is not depending on who they like and who they hate, therefore polls results made in here are extremely bias-driven. This means that, even though the results reflect the preferences of OneHallyu users, they're extremely irrelevant overall.

 

Let's say MNet makes the same poll and spread it on Twitter: (1) ELF are numerous on SNS; (2) random people from different fanclubs will vote; (3) more individuals will vote for that poll in comparison to OH's; (4) kpop fans in general are bias and will vote for their favorites and (5) fans can vote more than once. This means that regardless of how many individuals vote, the most dedicated fandom will win. Therefore it's another case of an irrelevant poll that doesn't reflect anything at all.

 

Actually, it's very hard to infer anything from online polls. An ideal online poll that would reflect the preferences of a population (in this case kpop fans in general or korean general public) would be the following: (1) Poll made in a big sites (like Naver, Daum, Nate, Gaon, Mnet, Hanteo and etc) acessible to everyone; (2) registration required using verified IDs and (3) one vote per verified ID. Online polls like the one described above are generally the ones done in South Korea, which results Ghea posted in this thread. Considering these results, the preferences revealed by the korean public (depending on the site) are far different from bias k-pop fans'.

 

There are also other types of polls that can be made to reveal solid results about preferences which are the ones Ghea also posted in this thread: a good number of idols and industry insiders being asked directly. In those Leeteuk was #1 for 3 years in a row.

 

What I'm trying to say is that, even though Leeteuk has many haters, the number of fans and public support he's got related to his position far outweights the former. Doesn't matter if users from a certain bias Kpop forum don't consider him a good leader because they hate him, it definitely doesn't change the fact that he is a great one and is recognized as the best one in the industry. Leeteuk is a natural leader, so no surprise here in my opinion.

 

Also, I wouldn't say OH is like Netizenbuzz because the Netizenbuzz admin already clarified that she translates the comments of the most negative article even though there are thousands of other with positive commentaries. You can read it in the FAQ section if you're interested. OH certainly is one big kpop forum but the kpop community is very small overall and loads of its users are inactive, also ELF aren't known for joining forums to balance things a little better.

 

What I tried to achieve with that post wasn't to rant because of the results, - I didn't even read the comments lol - but rather to exemplify why is not worthwhile to be worked up over anything relevant. Opinions can't change facts. But I do understand where you're coming from by being upset about it. I hope you understand that I wasn't trying to take your right to be upset, the other intention of my post was to list all the good stuff about him in regards to his position as a leader so it would serve as a form of consolation. I sincerely hope one day you can overcome the sensitivity towards this issue, you'll feel much, much better. I say this because I've experienced that before so I know how it feels.

leeteuk srsly is an outstanding guy. i don't have to bias him in order to realize that. it takes tons of work to settle arguments between sooooooo many fellas in their twenties (they're the largest kpop group after all)... you have to maintain a delicate balance between getting involved but also sometimes letting the members learn to sort things out themselves too, so that in the event he's gone (ie. army) they can continue to thrive as a cohesive group known for their strong brotherhood. plus leeteuk has to juggle between protecting SJ's name as well as maintaining his own ground in the entertainment biz. we couldn't ask for a better, more responsible leader.

And I absolutely agree with the responsible part. He does everything for Super Junior and for Super Junior only. It's like he can't turn off Leeteuk to be Park JungSu, there's simply no room for him to do so and coexist. He's just too busy being a workaholic (entertainer, leader, singer, idol) to actually care about his own private life and this saddens me. Hopefully he used those 2 years in the army to bring back Park JungSu to the yard, I really want him to find true happiness in his personal life.

I'm not a regular lurker here lol. I just saw there is conversation about Leeteuk and the leader tread and I decided to read and I was very displeased to see the SONE comments. If you can talk about SONEs here I can surely make a comment about this on the SNSD. And lol just because these comments are passive aggressive it doesn't mean it doesn't count as bashing.

 

 

And oh again with the lies!(first Aicha and now you...well) I did NOT say ELF give me cancer wtf. I think the person who wrote the cancer post was just someone who was defending me and you also replied "pinkmonster's posts give me cancer'.

Of course you have the right to do so but it doesn't mean it's not immature of your part. I suggest you read the paragraph you quoted again. There isn't Taeyeon hating, there is criticism - supported by arguments - about her leader position. And you're fooling yourself into believing I'm losing my time arguing whether she's a good leader or not , my conclusion is that she refused the position herself so I reserve myself the right to assume she isn't a leader at all - therefore my conclusion "she's everything but a leader" - regardless of the bad or good abilities I think she has. Also, the whole point of my argumentation revolved around Leeteuk and his leadership skills and how bias people are by saying that someone who refused to be a leader of her group - therefore is not a leader in my books - is a better leader than a leader (and I meant all leaders in that poll). I doubt you tell me this doesn't make sense. Therefore I used Taeyeon as a valid exemple to prove my point. This is the Leeteuk thread so I believe I'm entitled to be boastful about his qualities if I want to. The whole post was centered around Leeteuk's leadership qualities and not Taeyeon's or a comparison of skills,  therefore you can't tell me I'm being a hypocrite. 

 

You're right when you said that I don't know much about her relationship with the other members, but I didn't exactly say I do. If you read my sentence carefully, you'll see realize I carefully used the word "possibly".  I hope you know that was a personal observation thrown in my argumentative text. Also, for you to say I don't know a thing about  this matter or that I'm wrong in my judgement or maybe have the right to tell me "I should check the facts before judging", you need to have credible information and undeniable factual evidence to prove you know more than me. And I hardly think you do. You're confronting my observations with yours, and at the end of the day, they are simply individual observations and not factual proofs. However, in my case, I never said I was certain of what happens behind the scenes, but you replied as if you had the actual facts and that I should check them before saying anything. We'll agree to disagree then. However, different opinons are nothing to be rilled up about. Unless you're extremely defensive. Moreover, It's not like I'm interested in discussing anything related to Taeyeon - much less lose my time reading fanfics - any further. You either accept my opinion or you make everything to do so.

The comment about the fandom - you said it was a bashing at first in the SNSD thread but then changed it to passive agressive - you quoted wasn't made by me but since I agree with it I'll try to explain. There's an obvious old heat among Leeteuk and Sones and possibly me and the other poster agree that that characteristic might have been perpetuated throughout the years. We're not saying it's the only reason he's hated for, we're saying that it obviously plays a part in the character judgement by the Sone fandom. Sones created the (in)famous nicknames MosquiTeuk and DogTeuk related to Leeteuk. Leeteuk even commented about the latter publicly before - Ghea posted it in this thread. The MosquiTeuk one is very wellknown and I'm 100% sure you've heard of the story behind it. It ressurfaced with the Google event incident again in 2011 and several of fanarts were created again. The aftermath of it was that both Leeteuk and his family received several death threats from Sones because accidentaly interrupting Tiffany is something he and his family should die for. Puh-lease.

 

Maybe if it wasn't Leeteuk the one who did that, the reactions wouldn't have been so vicious. Also, Leeteuk used to have a Cyworld account but it was hacked by korean Sones multiple times to the point he had to close it. But not before Leeteuk called them out on their immaturity, what actually fueled the already existing hate. And, last but not least, a korean Sone was called out by Ryeowook on Twitter a month ago when he congratulated SNSD for that Youtube Award. That user actually bashed Ryeowook - in the right sense of the word - for it, however, this user was recognized by kELF as a known passionate Leeteuk anti who tweets horrible stuff to him on a daily basis.

 

You can't tell me you see a lot of these vicious sentiments among idols and a specific fandom frequently. And the case with Leeteuk and Sones, the animosity is quite old yet longlasting. Leeteuk isn't a hated person in South Korea at all, on the very contrary, this is what leads me to think that there is a clear big and specific history behind all this hate coming from the korean Sones in particular. This is what I meant with the last sentence of my first post, ("because Leeteuk called them out a few times years ago"), what you so dearly named "fandom bashing". Of course I didn't make it this detailed because I sensed that the majority of the people here are familiar with the reasoning. You can disagree with the fact that it might not be a perpetuated characteristic that can influence the international fandom, what I do believe, but it still doesn't give you the right to call that statement a bashing, especially when there's a reason behind it and was somewhat mentioned since the start. I don't think the benefits of searching for receipts exceeds the efforts and the opportunity costs of doing so, so I'm just leaving it as it is.

I did not say you asked for them to gang against us (you said Leeteuk fans instead of just myself), instead, I said you posted "wrong" (or maybe in your case, misleading) information in the SNSD thread to make us look bad and that was very immature of you. What I said is related to "ganging" is that it's so immature it looks like you are a middleschooler looking for your friends support to go against the ones who said things you don't l agree with. The reason why sones were mentioned here was a part of an argumentation at least, but in your case, you mentioned Leeteuk fans as a juicy gossip in the artist thread. The difference in the intentions is quite huge. It doesn't matter if you posted a line or a rant post - and I never said you made a rant post anyways lol - and in whichever fontsize, what matters here is that you threw Leeteuk fans under the bus by falsely accusing us of bashing. Again, if you don't see what's so wrong about this, we don't have reasons to keep talking. This is my last post about this issue. Dying at the possibility of him treating his group members.

I love the fact that fans and Super Junior members - most recently Donghae - respect and protect Leeteuk's image by not daring to spread pictures of him out of his duty service online. It's not the first time Leeteuk has a break from his army activities and the same respect from fans and members was shown during every single one of those times. 

 

The only individual who spread a picture of Leeteuk online that I can remember of is that little girl - Park MinHa - who met him after he won the Newcomer Award at the Daigu International Music Festival (DIMF)  and shared those pictures in her Twitter. But Leeteuk was actually 'serving' as he was wearing his uniform and representing The Promise so the situation was pretty tame and acceptable. Hopefully this mutual respect stays untouched for the next 7 months until he's finally discharged.

Basically Leeteuk is getting support from fans all over the Globe. 

 

Malaysian ELF and USA ELF, among many other ELF fanclubs, sent some flowers in honor of the deceased with messages of support. I remember seeing some video project of French ELF in which they didn't say a word other than writing Leeteuk and ELF in their hands forming 2 wings and later on doing movements as if they were virtually hugging him. They basically conveyed their feelings without using any words yet it was extremelly beautiful and made me tear up a little. 

 

Also, Flitto has been translating letters from fans to Leeteuk - in any language to Korean - and has been delivering them to him via e-mail every wednesday since the day he enlisted. It's not a new project but the influx of messages sent this week is considerably bigger once USAELF's post about 'how to send condolence letters to Leeteuk' was spread on Twitter. Of course we can use it to send all types of messages to him - not only condolence ones, please let's be a little more cheerful! - physically by letter (I believe USAELF added the address of his new army base) - or virtually by Flitto.

I'm sharing the link to whoever is interested in sending him some words.

At times like these, I'm very proud of the ELF fandom for being so supportive and caring whenever Super Junior members need our support and our love.  . EnKorea.com even wrote an article about it. MWave did it too.

Boys recently said on a radio program that if one members decides to leave then all will leave, and if one decides to stay, all will stay so I don't think we have to worry about them being separated. Phew. I love how they inform their fans of everything in advance. God bless them. 

 

God only knows how much I 'dislike' SM but I wish boys'd renew their contracts with the Company. They obviously want to promote together for many more years and I don't think they'll accomplish it in any other Company. Financially-wise SM is probably the only Company that can provide a safe future for its artists. I have no doubts in my mind that SM will accomplish their goals of becoming the korean version of Johnny's Entertainment in the next few years, and when it happens, SM will have tentacles in every field of the Entertainment Industry. Basically will be too strong to be confronted directly. If Super Junior leaves SM next year, then they'll walk the JYJ path and the future won't be promising at all. As a fan - without considering their views or feelings - I selfishly wish they would renew their contracts without blinking an eye. Sure they'll be locked in the SM dangeon sooner or later but I think having occasional comebacks and keeping the group intact is thousands of times better than having none coupled with disbandment. 

 

/edit: I love how members waited for Leeteuk and Yesung's breaks from their military duties to discuss their contract situation.

Hello lady, i missed u here, but u told me that u cant come here so it´s ok. I am glad that u feel better and could come back!

 

If u mean me with the fear to disturb, coz of what i say it Twitter, so no, this time i am ok with it. This Toppic i still dont wanna see here in general, it dont changed, but its a project and i am glad and thanksfull for it. 

 

 

 

About the contract: 

 

If i am honest, i dont know what is better for them. I bet with you that i hate SM and LSM more than U, And not only coz of SJ coz of SHINee too. And i also would wish them to leave and follow Shinhwa. We know all the + they could do, i dont need to explain. But there is also - too. The popurarity will drop fast. And the rest of them have to go to the army, so could be difficult. With the own company i dont think thay could manage to win any awards shows. They can be happy if they can win Music shows (like Shinhwa did). 

So at this part i complettly agree with u. It will be difficult for them to stand on their own feets. And i think that some of them (like Shindong) will have their Family and marry, when he comes back from army. So to manage both things will be even more difficult, when they have to do everything by their own. 

So SM is o/c confortable at this point. But its unconfortable that SM still dictate when to comeback, what to do and what not, is in the same time not that confortable and sucks. So like i say, i cant some to a solution whats better: freedom which can fail or be with SM and let them say u, "no this year we dont have time for u since we have to manage Shinee and Exo. only next year".

 

 

 

Leeteuk badge? the old one? or do u ask for a new one to change?

 

The flu and the recent Leader situation hit me hard but yay I'm back \o/

 

I thought that it was a little inappropriate to remotely mention the recent events even if it was about fanprojects so I spoilered everything. ^^

 

I so agree with the highlighted bits. I mean, even though we already faced 4 enlistments, we still have 8 more to go through. It might be inappropriate of me, but I'm counting Kibum too. Many things will happen during those 10 years of enlistments and eventually news of members dating, marrying will sure be hitting the fandom hard. I wish that, by then, boys have enough (mature) fans to keep them going.

 

The current Super Junior is still very popular and in the short term, if boys decide to change companies, there will be thousands of them knocking on their door but we never know for how long these companies can afford managing such a big group who is in the middle of many scenario changes (dating 'scandals', enlistments, fans leaving the fandom due to them leaving SM and etc). Not to mention boys would lose Sukira and SSTP and their individual regular jobs. SM is the only company I can think of, who can handle all types of bad scenarios. 

 

When Shinhwa left SM, the Industry wasn't a Monopoly like the current situation aka The Big 2 Era is. There used to be many financially strong Companies that idols could choose from back then. Also, the opportunity costs and substantial losses Super Junior would incurr by leaving SM today would be immensely bigger than the ones Shinhwa incurred back in the days.

 

I hope SM gives them enough creativity freedom to direct their music/idol carreer and it makes them satisfied enough to be together for years to come. They may not comeback as often but they'll comeback with music they decided on making themselves. They worked hard to have that privilege and would be given credit for, what would make me a very happy fan.

 

I changed for the old one. We can always change it in the next voting ^^

Ah, you like TeukMin too?    I've been noticing many Sungmin fans love Leeteuk as 2nd bias and many Leeteuk fans love Sungmin as second bias. Have you also noticed this or it is just me being bias paranoid?
