so my uni has this thing where it's compulsory for students to learn an extra subject, in addition to the subjects we already have in our courses zz i think its got smtg to do with extra creds or some shit like that

instead of taking up business-related classes (im studying finance), i was planning on joining a language class instead.

the choices are:

arabic

french

german

italian

japanese

mandarin

spanish

i was thinking of japanese or mandarin, cos i've spent some months learning those languages, but then again...

soo help me. in your opinion, what's the easiest language, among those above, to learn?

there's no such thing as the easiest language. Every language is difficult depending on each individual. For example, other people find French and Spanish easy, but I found them difficult in terms of grammar whereas I found Japanese grammar easy because you don't have to conjugate according to pronouns. Generally, though, it's said that the closer a foreign language is to your native language, or if a foreign language is within the same language family as your native language, the easier you'll grasp it. For example, Spanish, French, and Italian are all within the same language family, therefore they have similarities between each other, and English belongs to same language family as German (West Germanic).

Since you said you already spent some months learning Japanese and Mandarin, I suggest going with either one of those so you don't have to start learning a language from complete scratch. Plus, Mandarin is a popular language to learn for businesses.

I was going to say since you were a major in business your could minor in a language. I think Mandarin would be a good choice do to the growing popularity of it and how dominant China is in the market. You could end up as a representative for a company (or something like that) in China or a country that speaks Mandarin. Other than that I would go for French. You could speak it in Canada and some European countries. The others seem like quite a waste. Japanese means learned about 1.8k kanji characters (takes about 8 years) so that means lots of dedication and time. Arabic doesn't really pay off, I have a friend who has been taking it for 3 years and she can't form simple sentences that make sense haha. But whatever interests you, darling, go for it.
