You love some eye candy, you fan yourself to some hot guys but always end up crushing/liking the not so handsome ones? Like I love to look at Yixing He's handome, he's hot, he's charming, he's talented and seems nice and mature. But in real life I always end up liking some guys who look nothing like that. You get attracted to someone based on their personality and somewhat on their looks. If you're lucky, you'll find a 10/10 like Lay but that RARELY happens. So... Keep in mind that idols work hard to give You a fantasy of perfect look and perfect personality. They are extra-nice and extra-caring to their Fans. Its not like they are always cute and nice and always happy. It just seems this way because they work hard to give You a perfect fantasy. If you really date an idol, the idol will have moments when he/she is annoyed (like every human) and moments when he/she is annoying to you (like every human) and when they take off their makeup, they are good looking but not as perfect looking as on TV. This doesn't count for idols though, if they're hot and have a bad attitude, I'll be even more drawn to them (that's not real life though). Some of those people are actually those who realize they are attractive and they brag about it lol. I would like him, but I would not pursue a relationship (because he probably doesn't want it either). And since I want to have a relationship, then I'd find someone who is compatible with me and my personality, so the answer is personality comes first.
