My KPOP HISTORY THROUGH BOY GROUPS

Just wanted to share more about myself so I randomly made this Iist... Scroll down to find out:

 

 

 

1-Groups that got me into KPOP:

 

SUPER jUNIOR & SHINee

 

My older sister introduced me to KPOP in general! She was a fan of Leeteuk and got me into them. That was back in 2013. I watched their variety shows and found them hilarious! I listened to some of their music and after the Super Junior fever, came the Shinee fever: All good looking, talented and fun. I used to like Onew a lot...his smile was comforting and his voice color very pretty and unique. I had never heard a voice like that!

 

Special Mention: My sister knew I was originally a Hip Hop and RNB fan so she introduced me to Taeyang... saying he was the Korean "Chris Brown". "Wedding dress" was my jam but I got into Bigbang waaaaayyyy later.

 

 

2-Groups that I usually defend:

 

BEAST & INFINITE

 

This could be confusing because some people could think of me as a beauty or inspirit... lol I always comment on threads concerning them. But the truth is that I got into them because of their personnalities first. I watched Infinite Sesame Player and Beast Mtv diary I think? I just fell in love and gradually transitioned to music. Music-wise, Beast would be more of my style but I somehow listen to Infinite´s ballads and their latest comeback was flawless! I always catch up to their variety shows appearance, which explains why I have a bit of knowledged about them? I cant stand ignorant or delusional fans spitting nonsense about them.

 

 

3-Groups that hold a special place in my heart:

 

WINNER & JYJ

 

Song Minho is my main Bias so it´s quite clear. But in this case, the stories of both groups touched me so this made me want to support them. I watched WIN and was moved by their sincerity and hardwork... they had a rocky start but they always relied on each other. Their friendship and passion for music just made me appreciate them more. The latest news of Nam Tae Hyun being deaf in one ear broke my heart. I realized how hard it must have been for him all this time. Minho, it´s obvious. lol he´such a hardworking, passionate boy who chased after his dream despite all the Hardships. They´re ALL so passionate... reason why I like them.

 

JYJ is one of the group l respect the most in KPOP because they are the only one group who went head to head with SM and still survived... despite the broadcast ban. Now this is what you call DETERMINATION! They went through so much shit that it seemed kind of impossible to bounce back... but they did. Thanks to their hardwork and the support of their fans, they literally FLEW HIGHER... both as a group and individually. Their achievements are outstanding and for them to stay humble and easygoing despite all the money and fame makes me respect them even more.

 

 

4- Groups whose music I like more:

 

EXO & BTS

 

In this case, I like the music more than the members. Not that I dislike them, I watched their variety shows too and found them very likeable... but I found out I was not a fan because whenever those two got into controversies, I never felt an urge to defend them. I felt sad ofc but watched from afar. This could only mean I´m here for the music. I respect BTS for their music-color: They´re Hip Hop but their last album isnt tryhard at all. They polished their skills and even went to the US to learn more about Hip Hop. Amazing, right? The results are showing... They deserve the love!!! Exo puts out all kind of music but still have the ability to sound good. Wish they could also find their distinctive sound too!

 

 

 

5- Group I dont check often but always comes back when they´re releasing music:

 

BIGBANG

 

I´m a busy stan so sometimes, it´s hard to catch up with everybody´s activities. I forget about them sometimes but always comes back for the music. Their talents, chemistry, friendship is a fact so there´s nothing to explain.

 

 

6-Group that breaks my heart:

 

BAP

 

I feel like they´re BTS big brothers musically. They´re one of the few who can pull off that Hip Hop sound without being labeled as tryhard because they have a clear understanding of the genre so everything sounds so smooth. I credit Bang Yongguk for that! He´s mad talented and his leadership is one of the best in KPOP. Unfortunately, I feel like their company is the problem and really hope they will redeem themselves and give the boys a wonderful comeback. I will wait for them patiently.

 

 

7- Groups whose personalities I like but not the music:

 

VIXX & GOT/

 

In this case, I follow the groups´ activities but almost dont listen to their music. Here, it´s a matter of personal taste. I liked Vixx Superhero/Hyde/Error... it was good to listen to but their music sounds really fantastic? lol dont know how to explain but whenever I hear Vixx, I feel like I´m in some sort of sci-fi movie. lol it´s a genre that many people like but not really my taste. But I like the group as a whole... they´re hilarious!!!

 

got7 is an unfortunate case because I used to like JJ project a lot so I anticipated their debut a lot. Their debut song was catchy but afterwards, I just dont what happened. I dont understand their music: Is it pop? hip hop? both? I listened to their latest single "Just Right" and I felt as if I was on rollercoaster... you listen, you begin to get into it and then a weird part comes out... you focus again, and again another part sounds weird. I just gave up on that song that way. I still think "A" was their best single and I´m anticipating their "MAD" comeback. I like the members so I wish them all the best.

 

 

8- Rookie GROUPS I got my eyes on:

 

iKON and Seventeen

 

iKON is obvious... you just cant deny those guys´ skills!!! But I honestly never thought I would get into Seventeen!!! I was totally surprised because they´re sooo talented... self-sufficient-dols: They sing well, rap well, compose/write/arrange and choregraph well. Kind of mindblowing. I´m anticipating their career and wish them success!!!

I got into Kpop through SNSD and BB in 2012 but grew to love Fx, Shinee and DB5K shortly after also Mamamoo became my favorite Girl group the moment they debut  , BB is still my top male group.  I also love Winner and Exid a lot and plenty of others.  My liking of SNSD has slowed down but I still like them

Omg are you me? I agree with like 90% of this tbh (though add Big Bang/2ne1/4minute getting me into kpop cos I'm old af).

1,2,3, 6 -  EXO

4. Big Bang (casual music listener, not interested on them as persons)

5.  Vixx, FTisland, Lunafly, EpikHigh (I like the mixture of house with hip hop and electronic, they have an unique style). Brown eyes girls and Orange Caramel used to be in this category.

7.none ( I don't follow other groups activities, just Exo, but I enjoy seeing other idols interacting with them. I like Mino for that matter, he's a nice guy)

8. none ( I've listened to Red Velvet but I cannot say I'm a fan, just enjoying Automatic and icc. Same for Winner, I like I'm different, don't flirt etc... but  I don't follow any rookie group activities, don't have time for that. I've watched Mix&Match and discovered Ikon but the show turned me off. I'm curious about SR15 so I will check their debut, just for curiosity. Others rookies I haven't carefully checked, just listen once to Mamamoo, CLC (some disco song) ,the Ark,MonstaX etc.)

 

*2 - sometimes I criticize the members but I always defend the group.

2. EXO, SISTAR, SHINee, Girls' Generation & 2NE1 <--- These are my holy 5. Exo would be first tier and then the other 4 are 2nd tier, though I can classify myself as both an EXO-L & STAR1. It's complicated ok, I love them all tbh.

 

3. EXO (ULTIMATE Bias group), SHINee (2nd Favorite Male Group), SISTAR (Favorite Female Group), Girls' Generation (Favorite Music, Hyoyeon is my Ultimate Female Bias), 2NE1 (Bomb ass music).

 

4. f(x) & BEAST (I have almost all their albums).

 

5. KARA ('Day & Night' mini album was perfection).

 

6. 2NE1, KARA, etc. AKA- any group that has had member changes.

 

7. Super Junior & Apink

 

8. Red Velvet & SR15B (Call me an SM stan, but I honestly love the music coming out of SM this year. So I'm 100% looking forward to these rookies releasing albums).

Bigbang - 2ne1 and bigbang introduced me to kpop in 2010. Till now, I still stan them. TOP is <3

 

Winner - I became their fan after watching WinnerTV. Like you, my bias is mino   They're all talented and different but they are one. Also, their album was gold. 

 

EXO - Before I disliked them because they are overrated but after listening to XOXO full album (I really like Baby Don't Cry, Don't go, Peter Pan and My Lady), I become their fan. Also, sLAY is my bias

BIGBANG => 2NE1 => WINNER

 

BIGBANG is irreplaceable in my heart. I became a VIP first then I checked out 2NE1 and love them too. Then I became a YGstan who loved Lee Hi, Epik High, AKMU,etc and finally WINNER is the 2nd group I can proudly name myself after the fandom.

 

I'll be with these 3 above groups till the end. 

 

But I do check out other KPOP groups often

1. Super Junior

Got into Kpop with Super Junior - H Cooking? Cooking! in 2008. I love how happy this song is!

 

3.  SNSD, SHINee, Kara & EXO

SNSD is my first fandom (I have an account on soshified).

SHINee is the first fandom I am more dedicated to (I save a lot photos, watch every single subbed shows etc)

Kara was added along the way and SNSD+SHINee+Kara were my holy trinity in my earlier days as a Kpop Fan.

I quit Kpop for 2years and EXO brought me back to Kpop. 2 years later, I am still here because of EXO!

 

8. Lovelyz & April

For Lovelyz, will depend on their new song.

For April, right now I am loving them but still new so I am also not sure how long will I last. 

 

I do check out other groups too.

I listen to any song that sounds nice.

Especially during LMR era, i knew a good friend who's an exo-l and i heard alot abt bbb vs lmr

This might sounds dumb but i was depressed in 2013 and i found igab after loosing interest with kpop in 2012 and yeah.. gg saved my life

1-Groups that got me into KPOP:

KARA & Shinee.

KARA around Step era because of their acoustic version of ''...Ing''. I really felt something different about their voices, it looked like they were feeling what they were singing. I became their fan for those years but never called myself a Kamillia until this performance.

SHINee, I would always crash into their songs randomly and then I decided to buy their albums. Their b-sides made me love them. They gave me that friendly guy vibe and little by little, I fell in love with those 5 amazing guys. Around 2012 maybe.

 

 

 

2-Groups that I usually defend:

KARA, SNSD and T-ARA

I may joke around here with SNSD but I don't hate them.

Those 3 groups are probably the most hated and faced too many hardships. I still remember when I watched the video of SNSD Black Ocean, it even made me tear. How can people joke around with someone efforts and hard work? Taeyeon being slutshammed by teens and having her family being threaten at the time. Even though their music is not appealing to me, those 9 girls have a special spot in my heart. 

T-ARA accused of something that they didn't do for all these years, a member child pornography coming in the eyes of the public. And they were so young at the time... So much potential to be on top, but it was ruined.

KARA being hated for every step they take. Members like Hara started from the very bottom and once she is on top, finds a guy that she loves and they breakup. After some months, she's caught hanging out with a friend. Tabloids are everywhere. She goes to a korean variety show. Someone low-key slutshames her. She gets mad and cries. Negativity around her just increases. When her fellow member hugs and defends her, they become the new bitches of korean netizens.

 

3-Groups that hold a special place in my heart:

WONSOKA & Big Bang

 

4- Groups whose music I like more:

EXO, SHINee and BTS

 

5- Group I dont check often but always comes back when they´re releasing music:

6-Group that breaks my heart:

Super Junior in a negative way.

I love most of their members excluding Kyuhyun, Siwon and Shindong.

Those 3 did the 3 things that I would never tolerate in a person.

LOVELYZ and APRIL.

1-Groups that got me into KPOP: DBSK & Big Bang - ( I found Taeyang's dance practice to Ringa Linga while looking up dance videos and I was hooked. I also stumbled unto some old DBSK variety somehow and Changmin was my second kpop bias)

 

2-Groups that I usually defend: Shinee & Red Velvet (My bias groups next to Mamamoo and AOA. I love them to death)

 

3-Groups that hold a special place in my heart: VIXX, Suju, Teen Top, Big Bang, BTOB & BTS - ( I used to stan each of these groups for a period of time and I still love them a lot)

 

4- Groups whose music I like more: Shinee, VIXX, Red Velvet & Big Bang - ( The only groups whose whole discography, except MADE and Error, that I really like)

 

5- Group I dont check often but always comes back when they´re releasing music: EXO - (Only here for Jongin and Kyungsoo but EXO rarely has any bad songs)

 

6-Group that breaks my heart: (same as OP)

 

7- Groups whose personalities I like but not the music: Got7 & BTOB (These two groups are hilarious but their music is nothing to go crazy over although BTOB's vocals are godly

 

8- Rookie GROUPS I got my eyes on: Seventeen - (I'm currently addicted to Mansae, Mingyu is climbing his way up my bias list and the dance is giving me life)
