Why are people more interested in visuals over talent in kpop??

I made two threads over the last two days and you can clearly tell the difference...

Visual thread

Vocal thread

Why do people care so much about visuals but won't care as much about vocal talents?

Why are people so shallow and stan so many good looking idols without talents and leave the talented not-so-goodlooking ones?

Pls follow Kris' words of wisdom :chu: :chu:

They are IDOLS. Looking good is part of that role, that's why. K-pop idols are part of an entertainment world where they are valued for both their visuals as well as the talent that they put out. The audience enjoys their beautiful faces and amazing figures as much as seeing their impressive dancing or hearing their singing. Plus, it's South Korea. Looks are held in very high importance.

If you're talking about an opera singer or professional musician being judged by their looks more than their talent, then that's a different case.

Because looks is what you notice first. But if people dig a bit, they will keep paying attention to the ones with talent rather than the ones with good looks.

I also agree with this. Looks are what draws people in, vocal talent is what makes them stay.
