One of the female idol I find the most PITIFUL

Okay so when it comes to hate among female idols, people tend to mention Taeyeon, Hyuna, Sulli,CL and Jessica as the ones who constantly receive hate and criticisms. However, they tend to forget another one in my opinion. One who never seems to catch a break...

I´m talking about KARA Goo Hara!!!

tumblr_nrgp6dvwI81qe0fxmo8_400.gif

I read articles about idols a lot... while the females mentioned above receive a lot of hate, they are somehow acknowledged in something. They receive praises as well: Taeyeon is the fantastic vocalist in SNSD; Hyuna is

the sexy icon and amazing dancer; Sulli is SM´s princess and pretty goddess; CL the badass, talented rapper and Jessica the fashion designer.

But how come in almost EVERY ARTICLE WRITTEN ABOUT HARA, there never seems to be positive comments?

I know she is considered KARA´s visual and has always being recongnized for her pretty face... but nowadays, all I read about her are hateful comments. I know she might not be the most talented idol out there but you can´t deny the fact this girl is working hard!!!

People always Tend to judge so quickly without trying to understand the person behind the pretty face. She´s someone who has been always crticized for her weak vocals. Yet, despite the hate, she worked hard to improve her vocals... you can feel it during Kara´s recent comebacks.

What amazes me about her is that she knows she´s lacking a lot. She never denied it that´s why she is constantly trying to improve herself. People criticized her being thin like a stick... She then started doing pilates and got her body toned.

Then, they criticized her for her vocals... she managed to release a solo, which I didn´t find bad at all. The song was chill and even tho she´s not a powerhouse, the song was cute and the

beat really laid back. Then, her haters posted MR Removed videos, making fun of her, totally ignoring the improvement. Then they criticized her for her tan... I didn´t like it either but how come this girl is constantly put down?

Even in articles that praise her, haters find a way to put negative comments. Remember that NB article about Naturally born thin female idols? She was on the list but guess what? Comments about her where about how she´s Thin but not charming because she has no breasts... comparing her to Yoona and stuff... Not too long ago, she posted a barefaced selca and the comments were: "Aigoo, she´s so pretty... if only she didn´t release that Solo..." Like WTF???!!!!

If I was in her shoes, I would have quit long time ago because this is bullying in a way. She´s being put down for dating a lot, but who doesn´t??? I´m sure almost every idol has dated more than once and they have a sex life too... Why Goo Hara would be the target of nasty jokes when this is completely normal? She´s not commiting a crime...

The thing is that if you´ve watched her reality show( Gu Hara: On&Off ), you would know she´s reading almost every comment about her to see how the public perceive her and what she needs to improve. That makes me admire more because let´s be real: WHO WOULD FEEL GOOD AFTER READING SUCH COMMENTS ABOUT YOURSELF??!!! Nobody...

Yet she finds the strength to keep on moving and be a better person. Gu Hara was raised under difficult circumstances with her family having financial troubles. Like this, she started from the bottom and worked haaaard to make her money and being where she is. That´s why she´s amazing! I wish people will acknowledge her efforts and focus on positivity like her nailbook being sold out in Japan for example...

l´m not specifically a fan of her but I just respect her for her determination and desire to be a better person. I wish other people would see that too and praised her for once...

But she gets praised for her good looks and smashing body all the time.  And she's a pretty good dancer too:

Yes, that one video keeps getting posted whenever her singing is brought up for discussion. But she did well in releasing her mini album.  When will my favs, tbh.

As a former Kamilia(I'm lying trash I still buy their stuff), I'll put it very bluntly. It's because Kara had such an overwhelming impact in Japan. Many of the others you mentioned have a lot securing them in Korea and still do. Kara, and Goo Hara by extension, unfortunately do not. Not recently anyways. And that plays a major role, because netizen memories are fickle and short lived.

Add on the top of that Kara being a Korean group who's probably the face of the Hallyu in Japan compared to any other girl group and yet not being as notably revolutionary in Korea by comparison, on top of experiencing something somewhat similar to Wonder Girls, but with Japan rather than America(whom SK's not really on good terms with)

And then the fact that goo hara has a notable personality scandal that's still relatively fresh on folks mind (and god knows T-ara's own which is ages older is still getting played).

Then you get into things like Kara's notable lack of vocal talent and Goo Hara more or less being the face of Kara and it all uilds up to what it is today.

Nobody can deny who Goo Hara is and what Kara was, but with a lot of public sentiment backlashing against the hallyu and Kara not being as heavy a korean presence as wonder girls and SNSD, they'll always be marginalized. It's a painful truth.

Hara is one of the idols that I admire the most. I've read about her reading the comments to improve her bad points, as well as how she thought that "I don't want to turn to acting just because I'm bad at singing", etc. And we can actually see her improvement. I don't think she'll ever be a decent vocalist but her constant efforts and determination are truly admirable. How strong must she be to read all those hate comments without backing down on her goals? She has never shown that she was severely affected by the hate she kept receiving either. I could go on and on about how amazing she is, but I'll just stop here lol.

to me her voice is decent, I don't understand why idols always are supposed to have "the power". Power isn't the only way of singing, some singers are  powerful as hell but don't bring any emotions to me. Hara has a nice, cute voice, that can definitely be enjoyable in a song.
She also seems genuinely nice.

very few idols skirt by without some hate. but I can kinda see OP's point. I think industry folk and regular media seem okay and like Hara, I mean I think everyone in the industry is generally okay with one another.

Fans in kpop are a different bunch. I'm out in America, so I like everyone, no hate on anyone. Laugh when it's comical, cheer, etc and i have some preferences and bias, but overall I'm good. I'd like to think most people are.

People who have something to say are usually heated enough to say something. Positive statements can be overstating, and negative statements can be overblown.

I give Hara props for making it and lasting in this business, I think she bounced around a bit before getting to DSP's house I think. Of the names OP mentioned, it does seem like Hara gets the most hate. Then again maybe that's all we see, or I see. Maybe they all get the same amount and media-spin shows us otherwise. She's worked a way to survive in the industry and she'll keep truckin'. Not too worried.

But as for as why it happens? I have no idea. I understand not liking someone, not being a fan, i never really got the hate thing. so who knows. lol

Poor Hara   Her album was good enough and she's really kind and sweet. I hate how Korea treats Kara as some sort of second class group, they should be respected as the veterans that they're. I'll always look at her as a top idol.

You know who is more pitiful? It's the ones antis who hate someone k popidols so much JUST because they are jealous of them.

But tbh being hated is like the standard procedure for being a kpop idol. And the amount of hate that an idol get pretty much shows how "relevant" she/ he a.k.a the more popular that idol gets, the more hate she/ he will receive.

So, slay taeyeon, hyuna, hara, and the rest mentioned in ur op. Show dem haters who are the kweens.

Wow, I just realized this might be the reason why she's so popular in Japan. Correct me if I'm wrong :imstupid: , but J-Fans really take in account if the singers they are supporting actually worked hard and did not just have stuff handed to them. I admire Hara for trying and succeeding to going from 0-100 ,taying so strong throughout all these irrelevant hate comments  , Hara we love you <3  :rlytearpls:  :ahmagah:

she and her group are successful, she's one fo the richest female idols and has tons of fans (especially in japan), so i don't think the hate of some netizens really affect her.

I'd say the real pitiful idols are the ones that aren't popular even after years in the industry
