Honestly I could never ever think of saying this before 2015 since I was a hardcore YGstan who just like YG artists and is a casual audience of other idols & artists. But SM releases this year have changed my mind by miles. I used to be someone who hated SM's box MVs with the "similar looking idols dancing like clones" (sorry if this is too harsh), the shitty lyrics in title tracks, etc....and SM's over-exploitation of idols. However this year's SM has proven me wrong (the lyrics are still a bit shitty to me lmao): - Constant, Consistent & Punctual group/solo comebacks/debuts - Creativity & Variety in CONCEPTS (gosh I love SM's concepts this year No Lie) - Amazing Visuals ( like the idols look so good for every single concept ) - Variety of Interesting SOUNDS (I don't like a lot of songs but I must say some of them sound interesting and I do love some too) - Good bye to Boxed MVs (even some are still in box, but they dont seem to be in a box). And the MV's colours are amazing. - Very well designed Album package (which sth YG would hardly give) - Most groups did extremely well physically, some are great at digital too. They won A LOT of Music Shows despite overlapped promotions - The Idols are attractive. I couldn't see a lot of Individuality yet but SM idols have certain aura & vibe. Apart from the poor promotion for SUJU & DBSK, I think SM has done a great job for most of their groups & solos this year! It must feel great being an SMstan in 2015? Cry every time I think of 2014 when YGstan was so blessed with 5 full albums, subunits, concerts.... (to tho YGstan who negged me down there: 2015 is BIGBANG's Year too alright? Oh I'm fucking pissed off by my own fandom ppl like c'm on wtf I can't give praises to other company's artists because I'm YGstan??? Don't question my hardcore-ness when it comes to stanning YG artists you will loose, that doesn't mean that I have to a** lick everything from YG-the company. Exodus, ODD, and The Red were great, so I have no complaints in the album department. They'll probably go back to annoying me next year though. I am side-eyeing that for not debuting the rookie boys yet but that's a different story and they never made any promises on that anyway. YG has done great this year too. Also BB has/will have the most YT views this year, and it's not close. They killed the charts and, again, no one came close. BB will sweep the award season. IC with GD and Taeyang slayed and SMTM with Mino is the only one that broke through the IC wall. And if what I'm hearing is true about IkON, their releases are about to kill the rest of the industry. YG himself said that he just let BB do whatever they want with their music this time. BB's brand is too big that no one says things like "BB do well because they're from YG". Big difference. YG has always preached quality over quantity. SM is a mass-producer. YG is a quality-producer. SM is Wal-Mart. YG is Nordstrom.
