My best friend is a guy.  We have been friends for years and even if I make a skanky crying ugly face and say something completely nonsensical, he has still been there (watching football and telling me to text him later - but there if I really am I need).

 

Growing up, my most reliable friends have been male (classmates, uni friends, and in the neighborhood).  As long as they were not trying to date you, I have found that I can get the most candid and genuine replys and assistance from dudes.

 

My closest female friend in high school was pregnant and her mom kicked her out.  I asked my mom if she could stay with us, and I even gave her my 2 weeks paycheck to help her out with medical/baby stuff.  She took my money and bought the baby's father a pair of shoes. He dumped her anyway. I never understood that.

 

So who do you think makes a better friend - a boy or a girl?

If you are a girl, a girl.

 

But a girls best friend is more of a hassle, but what to do?

To be honest girls bc they're more relatable and understanding. Not to mention that my parents feel more comfortable with me having girl friends than guy friends and people will constantly ask you if you're dating and just the fact that are just some topics you can't discuss with guy friends without the air getting awkward. I've only had like 1 guy friend I was really close to.

For me it's girls. I have a hard time making friends with guys, much less getting close enough to one to be best friends. I just always clicked easier with other girls.

Socially? I have more in common with boys. I relate to them better as a group as my interests and hobbies are more likely to be held by males. However, my best friends are girls as I can connect with them on a personal level.

I have a few best friends....

 

1 is a girl and 3 are guys

 

so yeah.. i think since i'm a dude it feels better to be with my dude friends,cause it feels like we're actual brothers

 

 

But to be honest.. i don't think we should refer them as "best" friends.. we shouldn't divide friends like that.. a true friend is always a friend... 

 

i'd say it more like... "close" friends!
