Why is talent in the kpop world so rare?

Serious question because I know I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Like seriously on average only 40% of members in a group are SOMEWHAT talented. The other 60% is mediocre at best. Random 15 - 28 year olds in the street could perform better than them. There are so many talentless idols running around it's not even funny. Why is this?

And don't say it's looks because #1 There are some talentless gremlins out there and #2 Dr. Kim is right around the corner. I'm sure there are/were numerous ugly people who tried out to be an idol and didn't make it despite being extremely talented. So how did these random talentless people get so much privilege?

Kpop is about catchy songs, visual pleasure and entertainment, so not everyone has to be musically talented to dabble in kpop.

Like, you have to accept kpop for what it is.

If you wanted everyone to be musically talented then kpop is not for you. I suggest taylor swift :derp:

I know that that's why I'm a kpop fan in the first place. It just boggles me.

Because people consider "visuals" to be a talent too lmao

That is true I've seen a lot of people say that lol

Talent is subjective, so I won't comment on your opinion on that, but what do you mean by privilege?  :wth:

Most k-pop idols are struggling despite working their asses off. Even the most popular idols have worked hard to earn what the have. The "visuals" who lack talent are often the ones who have to work more to gain attention for their groups.

well it's pop music and most of the people into it care about stuff like looks, fanservice, catchy music and so on, not how well someone can do a high note or something, which is why the most popular member in the group is often the visual member.

These people are wrong.

And the reason is because of superficiality, idols put it into their music.

However the ones with talent are not nugu like these ones are saying.

It's the older like dbsk, boa, shinhwa back when kpop wasn't as superficial.
