Haven't been keeping up with info. Has anything been said about a comeback?

 

 

No specifics and nothing official from B2M, just the girls dropping hints. Bbo said it will probably be late April or early May. Narae said the song is "bright" which leads me to two thoughts. 1) It is single, not an album. 2) By bright I'm guessing it's not a R&B song or a ballad. And yesterday, I think it was Jiwon who said they were choosing a concept.

 

On another note, I am a little worried about the lack of Boa in anything SPICA related these days. She posts up about her collaborations with Eric Nam and recently LED Apple but she posts nothing about SPICA (which is actually kinda normal for her). But the kicker is I don't even see her in ANY photos with ANY other SPICA member ANYWHERE! Getting kinda worried and a little annoyed with her.

Aww poor Jiwon.   I wonder how it'll affect her drama role. Since it was pushed back from it's original start date I'm not sure how much they shot and how much there is still left to shoot. Hopefully all her bad luck recently will translate into a lot of good things happening in the near future.

The truth is, some super mercuries tend to deny their love to SPICA by talk nonsense about them. Mercuries is one of weird fandom, they love to make fun of their SPICA. They have tendencies to talk bad about their bias and OTP.........please don't get any wrong ideas ok?

Nothing anything against you personally kaizen, but I thought they crossed the line over on twitter a few weeks ago when they started calling Narae a "little shit" because she got SPICA's debut date wrong on her radio show. The other comments like "she's gotten a bighead since she's gotten a busy schedule" and "she's forgotten where she came from" were so bad, I wasn't even sure they were joking anymore. Also the whole "scumbag" Jiwon thing never sat right with me either. I used to joke around with them over there when the insult jokes were once an awhile but nowadays that's all they seem to do over there. If that's the way it's going to be over here too then I'll just stop checking in here too. 

 

I don't get how we can expect anyone to respect SPICA if their own fans treat them like that.

Maybe you should tweet a PSA on twitter. I'm sure some Mercuries don't realize how harsh it comes across..I think MOST Mercuries would want the best for SPICA and fellow Mercuries.

 

Actually when the "little shit" thing came out I did say that it was over the line and not really funny. That was followed by tweets telling me I need to lighten up and bunch of them unfollowed me. I only joined twitter because they asked me to because they saw I was a SPICA fan so it isn't a big deal to me to not use twitter. 

 

It's like Entropy said, new fans and visitors would get the wrong impression. I've already had new fans on AllKpop ask me about all the SPICA hate on twitter only to have to explain that they were really SPICA fans doing that. And if you have to keep explaining that it's all meant to be funny and you have to explain the joke, then it really isn't much of a joke IMO. 

 

Really guys it's not that big a deal to me. I am at best a very passive kpop fan and SPICA is the only group I make an active effort to really follow 9although I kinda follow others) so I'm not here to tell anyone how to act or what to say. I'm just saying if it goes that way I would rather not see that kind of stuff so I would just stay away but I wouldn't stop being a fan or stop enjoying their music. 

 

I do enjoy those types of jokes on occasion, just not all the time.

It's really not even worth speculating what's going on with them because even when they say something is going to happen, most of the time it doesn't.  Boa's solo, full album, Chinese version of "I Did It", full English album, late April or Early May comeback......POOF! None of it happened. There may be some very good reasons for it but we'll never hear it. One guess why the comeback may have got pushed back is because of Jiwon's vocal chord nodules, but that's purely a guess.

 

That's why this thread is so dead, there's nothing to talk about. What little information that comes out is coming from SPICA members themselves on IG. As since there's nothing to talk about, casual fans don't stick around. And because of that there are barely any subbers for the few appearances that they do make. It's easy to see why the fanbase is so small even though it seems there are a decent amount of people who enjoy their music.

 

And I agree about the sub-unit thing. I said it during SPICA'S promotions, it killed all the momentum they had coming out of KCON. It really was a bad move.

 

I am just hoping all this down time means they are taking their time putting together a masterpiece of an album.

I watched a good portion of the show, or at least had it open as a small window on my computer. And while it was nice to get to see SPICA.S (and they looked great except for Jiwon's maternity dress thing) the show was really boring. Man they do a lot of talking and it didn't seem well organized as they constantly had to wait for people to come on stage. Don't even know what was going on with the dance numbers, body builder's just wandering around on stage, and the elevator music constantly playing while the announcers were talking. Boa not being there doesn't even surprise me anymore. Sure i'm disappointed, but at this point it's more of a shock when she is there. I don't know what's really going on with SPICA but it doesn't look good at this point.  

 

Hope they get invited to one of the KCONs, but considering they haven't really done anything as a full group since the last one, I don't think it's likely. I doubt they'd invite SPICA.S seeing as how Boa is the most popular member by a longshot here in the US. I'm also thinking the New York one might be slim anyway because Girl's Generation is going there and after all the negative comments they got comparing them to SPICA last year, I don't think SM would want that to happen again.

SPICA.S wasn't kicking Boa out to concentrate on the other four. Boa was supposed to get her solo following the SPICA.S promotion. It was even mentioned that way during the SPICA.S promotions. What I think happened was B2M signed Nicole so they wanted to promote her so they bumped Boa and debuted Nicole in November. So the original plan was that all of SPICA was going to have activities at the end of last year but for whatever reason it didn't work out that way. So as much as I didn't like the timing of SPICA.S it wasn't created to kick Boa out.

Does anyone know what's happening? Like is she just missing events for no reason? Is she sick? I have no idea what's happening b/c I haven't been in here for awhile....  I hope everything is alright!

 

No one knows, but it's not like there's any negative undertones coming from any of the members including Boa. It's just that she hasn't been the around the group that often. It seems like she doesn't even interact with them on a personal level as the other four still meet up (it's mostly Narae and Jiwon, since they live together, and Bohyung, but rarely Sihyun) and they interact on IG with each other. So it just looks bad so that's why people are thinking the worst. But nothing bad is being said by them or their company.

At this point I just want to see and hear them perform ANYTHING as a full group, even if it's just a cover! Last year at this point we had so many performances and covers of theirs to enjoy but this year the only music they've done as a group is the OST(it was a great one though) and we're never going to see that performed live.

One month ago I saw on Twitter that Spica is in the middle of preparation for the new comeback.. Where are they now ohhhh

 

It looks like they're in the very early stages of preparing for one. If you watch boa's interview she mentions it. And it was just last week we finally got to see all of them together for a meeting. I would guess we are at least a month to a month and a half away. I'm still hoping that they do one of the KCONs, but that's looking slim. But at least there's signs of activity from them as a group.
