I've never seen that video subbed, unfortunately a lot of SPICA stuff isn't. That's why I'm glad they do a lot of Arirang appearances since those are automatically subbed.

Just a few days ago she was spotted still in the US. And in an interview Juhyun said Boa's solo debut was far from being ready.

 

So is Sihyun a stage name change as well, or just her real name change?

I'm thinking they did a MV for their 1000 day celebration, kinda like what Bestie did for their anniversary. Nicole has her solo debut soon so I can't see how SPICA can fit in a cb anytime soon, let alone the fact that they've been talking about Boa's solo too. I just hope they knock Nicole's one out soon so Boa can do her's and SPICA can get that full album released for the their 3 year anniversary.

Also I can imagine it would be an emotional ballad type of song. Who knows, we'll just have to wait and see!!!!

 

 

That's the song they shot the MV for last week (part of it was at SFW the other part on a music set). I'm still not sure if it will be a promoted song or just something special for their 1000 day celebration (with special stages on some music shows). B2M is supposed to debut Nicole in November and there's still Boa's solo. If it is a full blown comeback though I would be very happy as I thought that's what they should have done after KCON.

 

I also have a feeling it will be a ballad, and I just have this strange feeling it will be epic. Which is all the more reason for me to hope it is a full comeback.

It is nice to have Spica's comeback as a full group. The girls looks stunning. I don't mean to offend anyone here, can anyone who knows Spica long enough rank the members in terms of popularity and favourites?

 

It differs between Korean and International fans. The poll above reflects international fans with Boa easily being the most popular and then it's kinda a tie between Narae, Jiwon, and Bohyung and then Sihyun being a little behind them. Within Korea, I'm going based off of how busy their individual schedule has been, it goes Narae, Bohyung, Jiwon, and Sihyun. Boa is hard to gauge inside Korea because she doesn't really do any individual activities that are in the spotlight but she does a lot of behind the scenes stuff. But still she's never been a really popular member with Korean audiences in general. Sihyun used to be the most popular out of all them when they debuted but her popularity has dropped since. Still overall it's pretty good that SPICA doesn't have one absolute standout member, but rather it's relatively even across the board.

 This better be a real comeback and not something just to tide us Spica fans over because I want them to destroy all the music shows

 

I would love for this to be a full comeback but there are so many signs that say it is not. One is the timing. With Nicole's debut somewhere in the middle of the month and Boa still needing to have her solo debut too. Second, the fact that they did this song so soon after Boa's return from the US leads me to believe there is no choreo for the song (that's not a deal breaker but it is one indicator). Third, I haven't seen any music shows announcing the comeback even though it's less than a week away. And last, looking at the girls posts on IG, they don't seem to be gearing up for anything, Sihyun even went camping yesterday.

I'm so confused..did they get footage from real life and try to put it all in a storyline? I'm just slightly confused...

 

Also I can definitely tell that it's Bohyung singing the first part of the chorus, but I can't exactly tell who is singing the second part, whether it's Bohyung or Boa..

 

In any case, the song sounds fantastic and I can't wait to absolutely destroy the replay button when it comes out

 

 

They shot part of the mv the day they did SFW, they knew beforehand that it was happening. Some scenes were shot there and some were shot on a set. I read somewhere that the designer and the mv director are sisters(not sure if that's true or not).

I made the mistake of watching a few reaction videos. I swear all them start off by saying they don't know the names of the SPICA members then talk through the whole mv, not even paying attention to the mv or even the song itself. Then they complain they don't understand the mv! The one with two girls is the worst because they just keep yapping between themselves all video long and one of them even does a search on her phone during the mv. I swear if the the person reacting isn't a fangirl then there's really no hope because they won't pay attention.

What makes me pissed off is that some people really bought that shit because they take these analysis as it was some sort of absolute truth when it's obviously just the author's irrelevant opinion

Those vocal analysis are not from first hand experience with the singers, so it depends on what the person is listening to. If they are fans of the singers they are exposed to much more of their music. It also matters how much experience the person doing the analysis has because there are factors like autotune, heavy backup track, and sometimes backup singers to consider. If it's someone who just took a vocal class in college and knows the lingo vs. someone with a couple of decades of experience, the outcome will vary. My guess would be the person pretty much did it off of SPICA's released songs and didn't dig deep into into all of SPICA's work(covers, solos, predebut, radio shows, etc.) in which case Juhyun and Jiwon  would suffer.

They aren't promoting this song on music shows but they do have a scheduled appearance somewhere on the 15th I think. I'm still hoping they get to do one or two special stages for the song though.

Back on the topic of Spica, I just noticed that there are so many recent pictures from all their instagrams of Narae, Jiwon and Bohyung hanging out together, yet Sihyun is always doing her own thing. Is there animosity in the group or am I really overthinking things here 

 

 

Overthinking. Narae and Jiwon live together so they naturally end up hanging out. But even then, they don't hangout with each other all that often either. Bohyung hangs out with anyone, there was a picture just a couple days ago of her with Jiwon and some other people, and she seemed to do a lot of activities with Sihyun recently. Sihyun seems to hangout with her own friends a lot but within the group she's closest to Boa. Boa is the only one, to me, who is always off doing her own thing. I think a big part of it is because they don't live together anymore. But I like the fact that they don't act like they are all some kind of soulmates with some special bond. Their interactions have always been real and their friendship true.

Why can't Boa perform with them  now?

 

Yeah, it is dead. When they aren't promoting, it's hard to get info on what they're doing. You have to look on IG, Twitter, FB, and bunch of other places and piece together what's going on with them. Half the time I still have to google translate stuff and then try and decipher the translation. I wish B2M had a clear plan for their future AND would share it. It's tough to keep excited about things when we don't know what's going on.  

 

The last two appearances were booked for SPICA.S so no Boa. I think it was a carry over booking from the "Give Your Love" promotion.

It's hard to tell if her newer tattoos are permanent or temp ones. I haven't seen pics of her inner elbow to see if that "MOM" one was real and these new Disney ones don't look permanent. I do like the fact that she isn't afraid to have/show tattoos but I also think that since she's an idol they won't let her have the tattoos she really wants so she has to get these simple and sometimes ugly ones. 

 

I wonder why SPICA.S is still getting bookings so long after the promotion especially since Boa is back. Really disappointed they didn't get invited to a Gayo again, was hoping for at least one this year. But then I thought about it and there's really only one song that SPICA as a whole promoted this year in Korea and that was "You Don't Love Me" at the very beginning of the year. They put out an amazing amount of music from the covers on various programs, to the Witch's Diary OST, "I Did It", SPICA.S did "Give Your Love", and the 1000 Day gift "Ghost" but SPICA as a group only promoted YDLM in Korea.

 

Had this year been their second year then I would be feeling a lot better about everything because it was a great "building" year. They had a good start with YDLM, did a lot of singing programs, had a great showing at KCON, and even though I didn't like "Give Your Love" or the timing of SPICA.S, I do appreciate what it did as far as exposure and confidence for Bohyung, Narae, Sihyun, and Jiwon. But since this was their third year it really should have been the year they had their breakthrough. I have to say I'm really worried at this point about their future as a whole.

 

B2M will star the year with a Eric Nam promotion, and he deserves it, He really had bad luck with his last comeback happening when the Sewol Ferry tragedy occurred. Then at some point Boa has to do her solo and I doubt SPICA as a whole would follow immediately after that. So then that leaves either a Nicole comeback or possibly B2M debuting their boy group. So a SPICA comeback may not be for awhile. I hope ASA Music has some plans for them but I think that may not happen until KCON again.

 

Whatever happens, I hope SPICA has their breakthrough soon or at least stays active enough (through variety show appearances or other activities) to remain on people's minds.
