I'm not a BB fan either but SPICA has a way of making mediocre songs sound good (the lyrics to YDLM were overly repetitive) and I hope that still holds true without Boa. I'm not going to judge off a sinppet of a song because if I did I would've thought "I Did It" wasn't going to be good. And for SPICA it always comes down to the live performance, because that always impresses me more than just the song itself.

 

I'm just wondering how the line distribution will go. It seems like Jiwon has being playing a bigger role lately, much more than Narae. I can't say they'll move her up to sub for Boa as main vocalist be she might be the more prominent lead vocalist for this song. 

 

I'm also wondering who takes over as temporary leader for this promotion. By age it would go to Juhyun, and I think she'd be a good choice. But again, I'm thinking they may have Jiwon take this role too. They had her upfront with Boa during the interviews at KCON, possibly to ready her for the responsibility.

Also, in my little rant, I overlooked something huge.

Spica is getting a song produced from BRAVE BROTHERS. BRAVE BROTHERS. They've produced songs for groups infinitely huger in popularity than Spica, and here is Spica getting a song from them. Just the fact that it's Brave Brothers gives them a lot of exposure.

 

Maybe I'm stupid with this thinking, but this is huge for Spica. Glad they're finally getting recognition :D

 

 

I see it differently. SPICA is hardly your run of the mill girl group. Even of they aren't the most popular they are certainly one of the most (if not the most) talented girl groups out there. I've often said the general Korean public may not appreciate them but I can guaranty you people in the music industry most definitely respect them. So for BB this is a huge opportunity for them to have one of their songs sung to it's full potential, and for any songwriters and composers that has to play as big a part in success as making money. Sure SPICA gets recognition by using their song but let's face it, they can probably write better songs for themselves if kpop wasn't mostly about popularity.

 

So I'm hoping BB didn't just give them a leftover and went all out a wrote a song specifically for them.

Yup, just a digital single. I read somewhere that Narae had mentioned on the radio show does, that it will be this digital single, then Boa's solo debut, and at the beginning of 2015, a full SPICA album (I'm going to guess on their 3 year anniversary).

OMG wait a full album? Omg yes awesome. But first lemme be excited about the Spica.S debut and Boa debut then I'll be saving the happiness for the full album lol

 

Take that full album news with a grain of salt. They were suppose to have a full album out now but I guess plans changed. It's also not clear what's going on with ASA Music as they also had/have plans for a full English album as well as a Chinese version of "I Did It". In the end I'm just glad SPICA is making music, but I wish we had a more concrete idea about their future plans.

 

 

The first full album better be new songs not just all the old ones in an album

 

I highly doubt it will be all new but I do hope the majority of it is. The girls have said numerous times that they would each like to have a song on a full album that reflects their individual personalities and tastes, so I would like that to hold true. Since everything from "Lonely" and back already came out on mini albums, I think having "Tonight" and forward songs on the album would be appropriate.

If you haven't seen it, their KCON performance was beyond amazing.  Unfortunately Mnet cut them out of the M!Countdown broadcast in Korea completely and Mnet America cut "NoDiggity/Thank You" and "Painkiller" out of their coverage. Does anyone know which MV counts as far as "views" for music shows? I've wondered about this for a long time because B2M almost always posts the MV and the distributors post the official one. Like right now B2M's one has more views than the official one. It's not that I think this song has a chance but since this always happens I was wondering how it actually works.

 

BTW, I do question why SPICA.S had a "surprise" debut on M! Countdown. Not only were there hardly any of their fans there but it also took away views from the MV since it was almost a whole day before it was posted.

Hey guys, I am new here, Narae is my favorite member, but are there any Juhyun stans here?

 

 

Although it doesn't look like it in the poll, there are a lot of Juhyun fans here. I think early on, in their debut year, Juhyun was a fan favorite. But as time has gone on, and especially after "Tonight" when her hair got cut, she hasn't picked up as many fans. I have Narae as my favorite too but Juhyun is right there too(actually they're all right there lol) because she's the really open and candid one of the bunch who is always smiling and laughing.

Looks like she's hanging out with the stylist SPICA had for KCON.  I hope the visit had something to do with ASA Music and more US promotions/songs but it looks like a personal trip Boa took on her own.

It's been a week and I can't find anything else going on with this SPICA.S promotion. No interviews, no appearances, nothing. During YDLM they were doing something almost everyday, during and after that comeback. But this time they haven't even popped up for a radio interview anywhere.

Right at the beginning of that video Narae tosses her hair and it hits JuHyun in the face.Too bad the video switches scenes right after that, would've liked to see the reactions after that.

So with Nicole (formerly of Kara) debuting in October under B2M, I guess that means Boa's solo debut won't happen until November, at the earliest. From SPICA.S it will go straight to Nicole's promotion and hopefully Boa. I hope they don't push back Boa's debut until next year.

Maybe that's why Boa felt "gloomy" at that time. And she needs to wait even longer to get her turn. Even if it's moved to next year it's better than having the solo project get cancelled permanently. So I don't mind waiting a bit longer though. Time will fly fast before you know it.

 

It's not so much the time that bothers me it's the fact that if Boa's solo debut is pushed back to next year than this SPICA.S promotion could've waited until then and it should have been a proper SPICA comeback this time. Don't get me wrong, even though Give Your Love isn't a favorite of mine, I do think this sub-unit promotion was good in a lot of ways like giving Narae and Juhyun a chance to shine. But it just seems like to me after the momentum of YDLM and KCON, this promotion put the brakes on everything. I know some will say it's not SPICA, it's SPICA.S, but the reality is to most people they are the same. Just a couple of days ago I read a tweet that went something like "Remember when SPICA released I Did It and their songs were playing all over my house", which is basically saying SPICA disappeared after KCON.  Not that Boa's solo debut is being pushed back, I'm just saying I hope it isn't because it would just reinforce the idea that B2M doesn't have a plan and is making stuff up as it goes along.

They just left the stage @ the end while the song is still playing  . Is it because the Sound Director played the wrong version? The version that has Boa's vocals in it. I think Jiwon was giving signs to them at the beginning. I guess they didn't get it lol

 

 

They didn't stop singing and leave, they just went down to where the troops were. You can see it better in this vid. The track didn't have Boa in the beginning when Bohyung sang Boa's intro part but it had her in later parts. So I think they just changed up the way they sing it by covering some parts and having Boa's voice in others.
