Are they saying that they have heard of these comments? And knowing that people know they are talented but just not popular made them stick together? 

 

 

That comment isn't just on international sites, it's also said on Korean sites too, all the time in fact. So it doesn't surprise me at all that they've heard it. It would surprise me if they didn't. SPICA is always introduced or mentioned as a "vocally talented group" in Korea.

 

During one interview Boa had mentioned she considered quitting during the hiatus but it was comments and letters from Mercuries that gave her strength. Those comments also might have been at least part of the reason why CJ E&M signed them, they saw potential. To me it says a lot that a huge company like CJ signed a pretty old (members age-wise), not very successful girl group, that debuted 4 years ago and has been on hiatus for 2 years, COMPLETELY INTACT (no member changes).

That explains the inactivity from Boa we saw a few months ago.

 

 

Actually the interview was at the beginning of this year when they first announced the comeback. So I think she was referring to last year, maybe even in 2014 when she didn't get her solo and came back to the US after they had just returned to Korea after KCON..

Awwwww, I thought the final episode was two parts with next week being the ending. Not only didn't I watch it, I didn't even make a point of checking up on it this morning. Still, it's great news that she won! I only checked out her first performance so far, and I loved it. I know a lot of people were worried because she was going to rap, but I learned a while ago that any performance Bbo brings to the stage will be a quality one.

Man its hard to promote SPICA on this site. Most of my threads keep flopping

 

 

I think yours do well. I've actually goose egged a few (no replies) over on AKP. That made me totally give up posting there. I try to check here for SPICA threads every so often but I don't always reply for various reasons. Sometimes I mean to reply later to bump the thread but then completely forget about it.

 

I think people here on OH have pretty much made up there minds in regards to SPICA so they don't even check their threads anymore. I think the good news is they are kinda becoming more relevant in Korea again. I see a lot more fancams of their events again. I hope CJ E&M has comeback plans in store for them soon (maybe after Davichi's?) to take advantage of Bbo's GS win.

Yeah, I couldn't find any videos of it either. Bohyung won a little red hatchback, I think it's a Fiat (looks like the car J-Lo made commercials for here in the US).

Yep, also think it's a Fiat. I must say, with their whole "THE WINNER WILL WIN THEIR DREAM CAR" repetition each episode, I thought the winner could actually choose their dream car. Oh well, free car is free car, I guess.

 

I thought it was funny how they kept showing super expensive high performance cars when I knew it was going to be an economy car. But I am surprised it's not a Korean car, I expected at least that much. But then again you rarely see prizes like a car in Korean shows.

I was so excited when I saw this on YT because I thought someone translated it, but it's not. I really hope someone does though. I'm interested to hear what they have to say about each other and their experience on the show. BTW Bohyung sings "Who You Are" much better here. She was really straining in her performance in the finals.

I'm hoping too but since pretty much every site was using OnDemandKorea's subs of the show, and they haven't even posted the raw (usually went up within an hour of the show), I'm having doubts anyone has it.

They performed  their OST from last year "Because of You" which was pretty popular. I like that they did it but this also means they have officially performed this song more times (this is their 2nd time, well maybe maybe the first was only a partial) than they did "Ghost". I'm going to have to start a petition or something to get them to start singing that.

Me too. I thought this Japan promotion was rather random but I guess they see something there because I've never noticed much activity from Japanese fans. But then again I thought the same about KCON Abu Dhabi and that got them a bunch of Arabic fans now. Still hope one day soon they make it back to the US because I still think they have a great shot here at picking up a decent size fanbase.

I hope not, because if they are they should've announced it to help promote the showcase. I would guess the same as you that they'll cover a Japanese song or do a Japanese version of one of theirs.

The wole time BoA was rapping I was like "Oh yeah, I'm feeling this" and then the teams started saying she wasn't that good and I was just *Mindblow*  I like to believe it's not just because I'm biased? I'm confused... 

 

 

 

 

 

Even though it's a mellow song for Cheetah, Boa did it in a much more mellow style. For an "audition" song it doesn't quite make the impact a faster paced song with more attitude would. I also thought her blind audition was just ok but the second part after the reveal was much better. For an idol I think she did great, but for a straight out rapper it was just ok. Hopefully she'll get a chance to show more and develop more.

I am too, especially in Boa's case because it's more authentic to her style, but in a blind audition it doesn't have that big of an impact. It would be like auditioning with a soft ballad, most singers wouldn't do that, instead going for at least a power ballad if not a more upbeat song.

So close to having a Bohyung/Flowsik tie in, they were in opposite cities on the same day. When Bbo was in San Francisco, Flowsik was in LA, and then vice versa the next day. I'm so wanting another collab from them.

I think that was when she was supposed to do a secret talent thing. Anyway Bbo gets easily flustered during interviews and then can't speak. She's gotten much better at it, especially this year, but it still gets to her.

I went back to watch Team A's 'Supercar' performance on Youtube and most of the comments are about Boa, even the top comments. Mind you Teen Top's Changjo and that YG Model is in her group, so I was thinking there would be mostly comments about them but I was shocked. I think Boa did a great job but I wouldn't say she was the best on that team so I was shocked to see so many comments about her. If I were to rank them it would be 1.) YG Model 2.) Boa 3.) Changjo 4.)Park Joon Myun  5.) Lee Yikyung.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I agree with your ranking. Vocally, Boa is doing well. I mean if you just listen to her she sounds great, it's her stage presence that is the problem. She's getting better at rapping, her flow sounds much more natural and her tone is the best among all the females (I can't stand high pitched mini mouse tones that a lot of idol rappers have) but she moves awkwardly and her facial expressions show her nervousness, but she is getting better there too. It's really weird to see Boa so nervous as she normally has more confidence about herself especially when it comes to music. In the end I think this experience will really help her to improve overall and it is so outside of her comfort zone.

 

One thing I rally like about her in this show is she isn't trying to be the image of a stereotypical rapper. She isn't dressing all "thug" and  "gansta" like a lot of the other contestants. Both she and Michelle are basically being themselves with hip hop inspired fashion but not overdoing it.
