I'm pretty sure that did happen. I remember she and some other girl from a rookie girl group was cast in the movie. It happened around the time she had the accident so it kinda was forgotten about.

 

EDIT: It wasn't a movie, it was a KBS cartoon show "Larva" and the other person cast was SinB from Gfriend.

Boa was on Kim Shin Young's Music Party and sang two songs. One was one of the songs she sang on Masked Singer, "Said", the other was "Two Melodies". Here's a link to the full show.:

Couple of things to note:

 

  1) Boa was asked when SPICA is coming back and she said she didn't know.

 

  2) She was asked about her solo and she said she "really wants to do it, really!"

 

So I guess there's no comeback anytime soon which means there probably won't be much SPICA activities either. I guess the B2M merger/partnership/whatever has to get settled before they can plan SPICA promotions. I can't believe it's been over a year and a half since OT5 had their last comeback. Time is not on SPICA's side.....

I haven't seen the last 3 episodes of Secret Weapon. How has Sihyun been ranking?

 

They group the shows in pairs now so episodes 6 and 7 had a single overall ranking and Sihyun was 3rd place. She won a challenge but then ranked low in another one and was middle of the road on a third one. Since they haven't been subbed (kshowonline only subbed ep1 and Mercury Subs only has Sihyun cuts subbed up to about ep 4 or 5) it's hard to follow exactly what's going on but the last few episodes have much much better to watch overall over the early ones. Last night's episode, #8, will be group with ep 9 for ranking then episode 10 will be the final. Bestie's Dahye looks to be the run away winner overall because she's won the most and is consistently ranked in the top 3 but I don't know how they'll figure the final ranking.

I've been seeing a lot more posts from that account lately, I think it's almost everyday now. There's some really weird ones on twitter but the weirdest are the ones that use the artist's real name and actually post like they are them. There's one for Boa and the guy posts in the first person like he's Boa (but everyone knows it's not), it's weird.

I wish we had more translators in this fandom. More and more the twitter ones keep RT the Korean posts and sometimes they are pics so you can't use an online translator. Even when you can most of the time the Bing and Google translations are useless.

I watched ButBut TV for 2 seasons with no subs.

 

 

I used to watch Family Outing and the first couple of seasons of Running Man on our local Korean TV station without subs. Back then it would take weeks, or in the case of FO months, before episodes were subbed.

 

 

I have to  it was ask Entropy, does a small part of you miss the time when EXID wasn't popular? For me I kinda find it annoying that a year ago people were talking crap about them (especially since Bestie was becoming popular) and now it seems like everyone and their uncle has a EXID sig or avatar. I mean I know the end game IS to become popular so they need the bandwagoners, but still........they are so annoying, especially when they start calling other groups flops.

 

I mean SPICA's fandom may be small but at least you know we really like them. And at least their talent can keep bringing in new fans even when others leave due to them not becoming popular.

Well I don't want to say I miss when EXID wasn't popular because they were actually considering disbandment if "Up & Down" wasn't a success (that's what I fear for SPICA).

 

 Also the smaller fandom was more comfortable. I rarely post in the EXID thread because I have gotten negged in there by what I assume are band-wagoners. Even the OP has gotten negged in there. Now I prefer not to participate in fandom things so much. I simply support and enjoy EXID on my own, which is okay. I'm not missing out on much.

 

Lol and here I thought I was the only one that remembered that nasty Bestie vs. EXID BS. 

 

I don't mind band-wagoners unless, like you said, they put other groups down. I hate the ones that try to put down say CL or Hyorin by boasting about LE or Solji and comparing the strengths of LE & Solji to the weaknesses of CL and Hyorin. That makes no sense to me.

 

Oh, I meant it as the smaller fandom thing not for the group themselves going back to being unpopular. I see what you're saying about the getting negged part. It seems as a group becomes more successful the fans become fanatical. Maybe it because popularity brings more attackers so they feel the need to overprotect. Or maybe it's just more younger/immature fans coming in, but it definitely seems like it's a "either your with us all the way on everything or you're an anti" kind of sentiment.

 

Yeah, I noticed the Bestie thing last year. I even remember the long story someone wrote about the break up being a contractual thing and then it was later proven to be a false. 

 

I never get why people feel the need to hate on other groups. It's honestly the reason I keep a distance from kpop. There are a lot of groups that I listen to their music but i don't get involved with them other than that. SPICA is the only group I actively track. The only type of kpop music that I avoid listening to is the cutesy, bubble gum, aegyo stuff, it's just not my style. But I don't go hating groups that do it.

Her Secret Weapon was only supposed to be 10 episodes but I guess it's doing well because the show didn't end last night. I read someone from another fandom mention on twitter last week that it got extended, but there was no source. This is the kind of info I wish the translators would post because I don't think anyone knows what's going on with the show. Show really has gotten to be much better(ep 2-4 were really the lowpoint), I like watching it even if it's not subbed. 

 

 

 

I'm glad the show is more popular in Korea than here on OH because it seems like nobody talks about on here.

Sihyun looked so beautiful in that black dress. She really committed to that performance.

 

 

Scratch that, I think the show did end. I just watched the full episode and they had the dinner that Sihyun posted up a couple weeks ago on Twitter that had the whole cast and the eliminated members. I thought the ranking that people were mentioning was the ranking for the dances but I guess it was the overall ranking. Sihyun was 6th place and #1 was Daeun (2eyes) and #2 was Dahye (Bestie). Weird no one mentioned who won in their tweets about the show or that it was the final episode. I'm still not 100% positive myself since the ranking and dinner parts weren't subbed but it looked like the dinner was a farewell.  I hate when the tweeters mention stuff or just put emojis on stuff without translating or explaining.

I wonder why Narae is practicing choreo? I doubt it's for a comeback since Sihyun is pigging out and running (you would think she wouldn't be running on top of practicing). Plus they shoot the movie next month so I doubt they can do a comeback until that finishes. B2M really should release info on the movie(who is in it, all or a few?), it's the biggest thing SPICA has going for it right now and it's not like it's a secret since Dara was already announced as the lead.

Sihyun's hair looks great (I hope she leaves it alone now) but I'm still not getting my hopes up. If there were shots of all or most of them together or mentioning the MV, then I would start getting excited. Until then it's best for me not to speculate a comeback. 

 

btw, Her Secret Weapon is still going on. But hardly anyone talks about it and there's only screenshots or short clips of the new episodes. It's actually harder to find full raw episodes now then when the show started.

What? Secret Weapon is still on? Did they film a new episode?

 

It's always hard to tell what's going on with Jiwon because she can be involved with so many things. I agree it's for something but it could be anything, like the movie, or some totally different project. If there were more posts from them that synced up as far as time and location, or better yet pics with all of them together, I would be more inclined to think they were preparing for a comeback. But they are all over the place, Sihyun is still hanging out with friends, Bbo too, and the Boa/Sihyun thing looks like it was for an Mnet show(according to Twitter followers). Usually when they are preparing for a comeback they don't have posts with them hanging out, it usually gets quiet like they are focusing on working. I'm just gun shy because we've been burned by comeback expectations so many times, so it takes more to convince me nowadays.

SPICA will be performing at the One Korea Concert on October 9th. It's part of the "One Dream, One Korea" project I posted about above.

Her Secret Weapon ended last Friday with Episode #12. Sihyun came in 5th place. Bestie's Dahye came in first.
