Dieting

No One Special

Recommended Posts

For breakfast, having a green juice (Vegetable smoothie) is a great way to boost your energy for the day. Also, infused citrus water cleanses your body and gets you energized/clean so that

you'll move around better.

Have small portions of anything you eat. Don't intake too much oil but olive oil is great for any cooking. Chicken breast/Fish is also great for weight loss but all in moderate portions.

Salmon has omega-3 fat, but it's "good" fat so it'll do nothing but help as long as you eat small/medium portions of it. Chicken Breast is good for exercise/making muscles and has little calories.

I do not recommend weight loss pills or starving at all because you will experience unfortunate detox rashes or see other side effects that'll be worse than having some fat on your body.

There is seriously no easy way to lose weight, get yourself motivated to get on your feet and move around. Even a 30 minute walk/jog will contribute to weight loss. Yoga is a great alternative since you

don't have to move around much but stay in one place and stretch. It gives you positive energy, (another plus.)

Eat less, or eat plenty of vegetables and bit of fruit for fiber content. Whole wheat bread is great for a diet because it leaves you full even if you eat a little of it. Drinking a lot of water will keep you full too.

But keep in mind that sodium should be almost completely out of your diet if you're looking to lose weight. Sodium causes your cells to dry up and when you drink water, it bloats (You'll be gaining a whole lot of

water weight.)

Avoid eating after 5, but if it's too early, 6. (This is because you tend to not move around after those times. Sleeping too much will also contribute to weight gain.) If you want to speed up your metabolism, have many

tiny portion meals a day. I do that. It works great.

Weight training is a faster way to lose weight because it burns all the fat. No, you won't be bulky until you lose all that fat so you don't need to worry.

But over all, if you're feeling like a lazy junk then just starve yourself throughout the day and barely eat, though you'll find yourself binging later on which is much much worse.

You should aim for permanent results, not temporary.

Good luck   :)

EDIT : Like everyone said above, you should list your height, age, weight because it's easier for a 230lb person to lose 20lb than a 120lb person trying to lose 20lb. Which is it?

there is no such thing as a safe pill unless you're talking about things like fiber choice or omega 3.

adding things like green tea, cinnamon, anything with high fiber, and especially getting your 8+ hours of sleep would definitely help.

-Don't eat past 7pm.

-A serving of food should consist of 25% protein (the size of your palm) and 75% vegetables.

-Breakfast should be your largest meal.

-Drink a minimum of 6 cups of water.

-If you're hungry between meals, you can eat fruit, handful of nuts, a cup of yogurt, or hard-boiled egg.

-Always eat protein after workouts.

-Cut salt out of your diet.

-Eat food slowly. According to research from The University of Rhode Island, rapid food eaters are often heavier than slow eaters so be sure to take your time when eating.

-Sleep earlier. Recent research from the University of Pennsylvania found even just a few nights of sleep deprivation can lead to almost immediate weight gain.

-Be sure to workout at least 3-4 times a week.

Hope these help you! :)

Don't boost weight loss.  You want to lose weight slowly, losing it fast means you'll have awkward bits of flab hanging out everywhere and such.  Lose it slow while exercising and that'll allow your body to retain it's shape and you'll tone up a bit rather than looking like a balloon that suddenly had all the air sucked out of it.

If you really must speed things up, just exercise more rather than fucking with your diet or taking some pill.

Try intermittent fasting, in a 16/8 fast/feeding period split. It works really well, if you get used to not eating for 16 hours and only eating on the other 8.

The cardinal rule is: Avoid simple carbs, like sugars or things made from refined cereals. Always go for whole grain cereals. Try oatmeal with fruit in the morning, brown rice/quinoa instead of white rice, etc...

Eat more protein and fiber, they keep you full and satiated for longer.

I for one think eating 5 small meals a day is better than 2/3 big ones, since you will never have your stomach empty for long, which reduced cravings.

Drink lots of water and tea (with no sugar).

With this alone, you should start losing weight, but if you add cardio, especially HIIT style, you should lose weight quite fast.

a deficit in the calories you burn and the ones you ingest is all you need to lose weight. But if you want to lose specifically fat, then I highly recommend weight training. Like other poster said here, it wont make you bulky as long as you're keeping a caloric deficit. And compound exercises > isolation exercises in most cases.

Diet pills are shit. Don't waste your money.

Pick a diet that makes you feel good. One that you can continue for the rest of your life ideally, 'cause tbh that's the only way you're gonna stay fit. Temporary diets yield temporary results.

Btw it's a common misconception that certain carbs are way worse than others. Every carb counts as a carb. The carbs in organ meats and egg whites count as carbs. The carbs in fruits and vegetables count as carbs. Every carb counts as a carb. Your body doesn't really differentiate. Sure, some kinds of carbs do more damage... but all carbs ultimately elicit the same response; your insulin levels go up, and if you've had too many carbs you gain weight. No matter what kind of diet you go on, remember that.

...That's not to say that things like broccoli and cake have a similar level of healthiness. Cake is generally almost completely devoid of nutrients, while broccoli at least has more value to it than "it tastes good" XD

Also, fiber is useless and ultimately just another carb, with the added "benefit" of clogging up your bowels. All it does is push out the old waste with new waste. If you want clean, regular bowel movements just increase your fat and fluid intake. Think of it like sliding across the floor with socks on, vs going barefoot and trying to have somebody push you across the floor lol

People make it seem like you should be having a massive bowel movement every day, but in reality as long as you're some kind of regular and you don't feel like you've got unfinished business when you're done, in all likelihood your bowels are totally fineXD

But whatever you do, do not listen to the people telling you to go low fat. Fat does not make you gain weight, and you will become very unhealthy without the right kinds of fat in your diet. Furthermore, if it's extremely low you will die.

You need dietary fat in general to absorb certain kinds of vitamins, without which... well, let's just say vitamin deficiency is not a fun thing to experience.

You also need ample amounts of animal fats for your body and brain to function at optimum efficiency, but I suppose that's up to the individual whether they want to be optimal or not lol

Oh, and do not cut out iodized salt from your diet unless you want a goiter  :derp:

(Tbh salt is fine as long as you don't overdo it, and you drink lots of water. Sodium is essential for water storage, so if you're feeling dehydrated even though you drink enough, you're probably low on salt)

Good luck  :meow:
