Netizens discuss how skinny rookie group Lovelyz are in real life.

 

Many girl groups have made their debut in 2015 that are all trying to get noticed in the K-pop industry.

 

Although many groups such as Red Velvet have their huge corporation-like agencies backing them up, there are groups like G-friend who has made their presence known through a viral video of working hard and falling on a slippery stage even being featured in foreign medias. However, it is often up to the fans to try and make their artists more popular through various online communities and even explaining bad rumors by defending them.

 

Lovelyz is a group that many netizens have regarded as a group with members that don’t have the physical traits to be an idol. Some members were often considered too chubby and were not fit enough to be an K-pop idol.

Unfortunately...This makes me sad and angry at the same time... they are still growing up but have to go on extreme diets to fit their fucking standards!!! Poor babies...

I think all south koreans living in korea deal with this not just people in the entertainment industry, if you are fat they will let you know and tell you to lost the fat. Some people result to losing weight by starvation. 

 

I remember Hana from secret said she went on a water diet, just drinking water and nothing else. I think she said couple of weeks dont remember how long though.

Koreans see chubby people cute, but fat people disgusting. Much like in Japan, it is regarded to stay skinny. The south koreans sadly would bash anyone for being a little overweight. :( But Lovelyz really need to eat, this isn't a healthy skinny.

 

 

 

haven't you noticed how many obese people are making their living as comedians in sk? SM is a god really to debut someone like Shindong lol

 

Girls especially are very frowned upon if they're obese. Just look at what happened recently with those 3 comedians (Jo se ho, etc)

I know Kei probably does. If you watch her predebut audition video for JYP, you'd see that she was just as skinny back then.

 

Baby Soul used to have a little more weight on her in her predebut solo days (you can see the difference between her now and in her predebut MVs No Better than Strangers and She's a Flirt), but then I think she lost weight for Lovelyz
