Has 'cute' become the new 'sexy'?

So, it basically works like this:

 

Then: Sexy concept = recognition

 

Now: Cute concept = recognition

 

I mean, it wasn't so long ago that gg's were coming out with a sexy concept, but I've noticed somewhat of shift, especially with all the new gg's that have come out so far. 

 

So my question to you is do you think the sexy concept is dying down, ad being replaced by the cute concept?

And if so, what do you think the next trendy concept will be?

I don't think either of them are replacing each other. The public lies some groups that fit a cute concept, while they like some other groups that are better of being sexy like GsD. I don't think that it even makes sense for cute to become the new sexy, the only time I remember that concepts were a trend are right now with cute concepts, but only a few of them actually got positive responses from koreans, and they aren't exactly "Replacing" the sexy concept either.

Mmmmmmmm......I think the concepts between GGs and BGs shift based on who's more successful with what.

 

Since we have a lot of male comebacks this year, they are sucking up the sexy image, making it rough to compete.

 

So....they switch to the cute concept. It seems to back and forth periodically whenever the fandoms get a bit bored.

Even in Cute kpop concepts/songs there is also a butt move in it and no sexy concepts are not dying 70% of kpop girl groups do sexy concepts

I've noticed a lot of 90's-50's concepts this year that dealt with mature/cute tbh. Sooo mature cute and a pinch of sexiness

Cute has always been above Sexy in the Korean scene.

 

The times where Sexy seemed to be above Cute were just phases, temporary trends.

 

We are currently ending a "sexy phase", however, take notice of how A Pink came through it: much stronger.

 

It's just another normal expression of how cute's above sexy overall.

Yup.

 

Those two always cycle around. Cute is the thing then sexy then cute then sexy. Nothing else has ever come in and had the same impact as cute or sexy.

 

But if any concept there has a shot based on what I've seen...it may be quirky...cuz if played a certain way it's close to cute.

Then again, hip hop if played a certain way is close to sexy so who knows LOL

Sexy gets you recognition but the true nation girlgroup will need cute to have recognition and fandom.
