But I feel like their time might be coming to an end soon They're all getting older and drifting apart and having members kicked out. Do you think SM is trying to salvage the group by Taeyeon having a solo? I feel like soon we may see more solos and less group comebacks Time to move on sones.. SM has been wanting Taeyeon to release a solo album for YEARS now, but she has either been too busy or just flat out was not ready / turned down the request / offer. Taeyeon is just now in a place where she's comfortable with everything and wants to release more songs to her liking. TBH, people has been saying SNSD's time is up since... Run Devil Run when they weren't able to win against Bi Rain and Lee Hyori. EVER SINCE, every single comeback. I have said this time and time and time again, and only those who has been in K-Pop long enough or who has been following Girls` Generation for a long time would know... But Girls` Generation's title as Nation's Girl Group... and everything else like their title as Nation's Treasure and such were never earned with their music. They aren't the top girl group (and one of the top groups) of Korea because of their music, not solely anyways. Because if that was the sole reason, then Girls` Generation would've lost their position at the top LONG AGO... But they haven't. People still acknowledge their existence as the top, they still get voted as icons of Korea by experts... they still get votes as the most recognizable Idol group of Korea / Asia.... and it's because they have achieved so much OUTSIDE of music. ... Their legacy is cemented and them having a few strings of non-public friendly songs isn't going to shift their position anytime soon. So y'all can continue to hold your breaths for that day that GG "loses" their spot, because it ain't happening anytime soon. Especially not over some lame reason like their songs not becoming annual hits every time they make a comeback. It's cute that you try though. They're still selling albums and selling out arenas and making bread. They still have tons of fans. Just because the public isn't still head over heels for Soshi anymore doesn't mean that they're in a bad place. Just not in that unbelievably, unachievably amazing place that they used to be in.
