MidnightEXO 12,909
I have encountered a lot of freshmen and I think some of them need more guidance then anything and I feel these steps could help someone. If you have to get up in the morningAM classes. Set an alarm on your phone in 15 minute intervals.... So say for instance you have a 8am class and you take for ever to get ready like me lol. I like taking Showers in the morning, Start your alarm at 6am... then again at 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, and then at 6:55... just 5 mins before 7:00. You should be up during this time. After you’ve been dressed and gotten ready... EAT a banana and drink water and or orange juice.. Head to class 10 minutes early and make sure you have all the material you need for class. Go over the notes you’ve made the night before and walk in class and ask the questions thats are necessary and hard to understand. If you have a bunch of time in between class like myself. GO TO THE LIBARY. don't socialize and or go to sleep. Head to the Library utilize time for that class you’ve left and the next classes you a heading too. Drink water and use the restroom before class. I say to do these things because college is all about time management. You need to study and eat well. I promise you this could help a lot even if its small. If you have any questions or tips. Let me know. I think I might make a master post

PoshLuxe 689
Good idea for a master post. Another tip is to use your phone to help wake you up. Scroll through social media. Don't just glaze over, read the statuses. This will keep you from dozing off. Then get up. Yeah, don't be late to class and don’t be on time either. You should find the best seat, ideally in the first 2-3 rows of the classroom. You will be focused with minimum distractions. Check the weather. Not just how it currently is, but the hourly forecast. Lots of students take sunshine as hot weather, even though it's December. And many of them get caught in the rain. And it pours. Take care of yourself. Eat your fruits and veggies. Drink your water. Study for whatever classes you had that day in that same day. Don’t do homework from Tuesday on Wednesday. That’s all I have for now.
angrybird202 357
I totally agree with the OP. Time management is the key. I just want to add some more. If you're addicted to the internet (like me), try to add some helpful Google extensions like Stayfocusd or Strict Workflow. I personally prefer Strict Workflow. Also turn your phone to silent/vibration. I also tried to minimize the amount of apps on my phone to avoid any distraction. I hope we all have a great semester. Miyami 642
When you have a group assignement, try to make arrangements in class/shortly after class with eachother about who is doing what/when etc......not when everyone is already home and you have to use email/whatsapp/whatever. It's way easier to communicate in person and the chance that someone will say 'hmm I didn't know that was my part' and didn't do part of the assignmentt, is way less.
